THIS racing punter was celebrating after turning £2 into just under £90,000 on a one-off bet at Wolverhampton.

The William Hill customer somehow managed to pick the winner of all eight races on Saturday evening.

They placed £1 each way on the monstrous eight-way accumulator and watched as one by one they came home, raking in a return of £89,635.88.

Incredibly, no horse was taller than 13-2 Cosmos Raj, the fourth horse on the card to win.

And it was dominated by the runners at the top of the market.

But on a circuit as tricky in all weather conditions as Wolverhampton, it takes a huge effort to choose the winner of each race.

Even more so because the gambler managed to back a large portion of the runners at prices greater than SP (starting price).

One More Wave kicked things off by winning the 5pm race on par before Blue Collar Lad prevailed 5-2 in the next race.

Savannah Smiles won 5-1 before Cosmos Raj kept the acca rolling.

Angel Of Antrim were a 4-1 winner, ahead of 5-2 at Liberty.

Bungle Bay’s 11-4 victory in the penultimate race – a 7f Class contest – meant it all depended on teenage jockey Billy Loughnane in the final.

The bettor backed Sunblock at 10-3 and George Boughey’s runner was backed at 11-4.

The three-year-old filly switched gears straight away after a steady start and made good progress a furlong from home.

She then hit the front in the final hundred meters and kept going well to secure the monumental payout.

William Hill licked their wounds after being handed over to such an extent, but spokesman Lee Phelps congratulated the punter on their ‘amazing’ win.

He said: “The card in Wolverhampton on Saturday certainly wasn’t the most striking, but it turned out to be quite a memorable card for a William Hill customer.

“In some seriously impressive fashion, the punter managed to find the winner of each of the eight races on the card, winning just under £90,000.

“What was all the more impressive was that they won the prize with a bet of just £1 each way.

“I’m sure there were a few parties after the final selection. Sunblock got the job done!”
