Referee REMOVED throw by throw intruder in game between Port Vale and Portsmouth

A REFEREE was chased off the pitch by a pitch invader during Port Vale vs Portsmouth.

A fan stormed onto the pitch in extra time of the second half of the League One match.

The referee in Port Vale vs Portsmouth had to leave the field to prevent a pitch invader

Referee Craig Hicks was forced to run away from the pitch invader who appeared to be charging straight at him.

Hicks was protected from the sideline by staffers after the pitch invader stopped.

The incident took place just after Portsmouth were awarded a controversial penalty in the 88th minute and won the match 1–0.
