A magistrate has branded former football agent Ricky Nixon a liar after he was found guilty of assaulting a postman during a parcel delivery to his home.

The controversial 61-year-old claimed he acted in self-defence during the altercation on March 10, 2022 at his Port Melbourne address.

The Melbourne Magistrates’ Court heard last week that Nixon had assaulted postman Behroz Kahaliqi and sent a package to him following an incident with Nixon’s girlfriend, Melissa Huynh.

Nixon said he was forced to defend himself against the mailman, who he said called his partner a “c**t.”

“He stood there with packages and a box and said, ‘Your girlfriend is nothing but a slut and a slut’ … he then hit me, kicked me in the knee (and) threw a box at me,” Nixon told the court.

‘I didn’t create [the alleged incident]I just said I was Ricky Nixon and he went crazy.”

On Tuesday, magistrate Vincenzo Caltabiano ruled that the former football agent’s evidence was ‘not credible or reliable’.

“I am not convinced that there is a reasonable possibility that Mr. Nixon’s story is accurate,” Magistrate Caltabiano ruled.

“I am convinced that Nixon attacked Mr. Kahaliqi as they stood at the door.

“I am convinced Nixon then dragged him inside (to his property) and further assaulted him.”

Magistrate Caltabiano ruled that Nixon attacked the postman without endangering his own safety and did not act in self-defense.

The magistrate added that Nixon’s evidence that he did not throw a package at the mailman is not reliable or credible.

This month, Nixon will begin acting in a new series called Vendetta 19 Nixon, in which he plays amputee gangster Thomas Moran.

“I live a very different and colorful life,” Nixon told the Herald Sun.

“When I was asked about this, I talked to some friends and I thought it was a challenge.”

Filming for the new series will begin in June and the pilot will air on social media this spring.
