A family has paid a heartbreaking tribute to their baby boy who tragically died after being cared for by friends as police launch a murder investigation.
The 17-month-old baby, Ronan Davies, was cared for for two days on June 7 by his parents’ friends at a home in Glenelg North, western Adelaide.
He was returned to his Ottoway home around 4pm, but his father called an ambulance soon after when he couldn’t wake him up.
The child was taken to Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where he died just two days later, on June 9.

“Grandma’s angel rest in peace, even though you weren’t with your family for long, everyone loved you so much,” she told the Advertiser.
“You were cute, good, innocent, and very pretty.
“How can you remember less suffering now, my son, now of sleeping, eating, or going somewhere, I see your shadow, why did God take away Grandma’s Ro, my son?”
She revealed in her post that Ronan’s organs were donated to save three children “who were near death” so they could live.
‘Ro’s departure therefore makes sense. Your shadow and life still exist in the body of three happy little ones. You have created happiness for their families,” she said.
Ronan’s grandmother added that she would “miss” him and love the baby boy “forever.”

No one has been charged in connection with Ronan’s death, but police believe the baby was murdered.
Detective Inspector Mark McEachern said the “beautiful” boy’s injuries would not have been obvious as he suffered “critical head injuries and other serious internal injuries.”
“Ronan has been returned home, apparently asleep. We suspect he sustained injuries before that,” Insp McEachern said Tuesday.
“We are not eliminating anyone in connection with the investigation, but we are focusing on events at the Glenelg North address on Wednesday afternoon while he was in the company of caretakers.
“Speaking to everyone who had contact with or cared for Ronan, we suspect the injuries were caused in Glenelg North on Wednesday afternoon.
“We have been given an explanation of how Ronan’s injuries were caused, we are not satisfied with the veracity of that statement and that will certainly become the subject of our murder investigation.”

Detectives want to hear from anyone who may have seen Ronan leading up to his death – particularly anyone who heard or saw anything about a young child on Ferguson Street in Glenelg North on the afternoon of June 7.
Police have released photos of Ronan’s pushchair, noting that someone may have seen him push it through the streets of Glenelg.
“We are appealing to anyone with knowledge of this case to contact Crime Stoppers,” Detective Inspector McEachern said.
“That includes anyone who saw or heard anything on Ferguson Street or nearby.”
