Ryan Reynolds Teases Hugh Jackman's Return in 'Deadpool' BTS Photo
Ryan Reynolds And Hugh Jackman are ready to get the cameras rolling Deadpool 3.
Reynolds posted a behind-the-scenes photo of the set taken by the director Shawn Levy via his Instagram Story on Wednesday, January 17. The black and white photo shows two chairs decorated with the names of their respective characters: Logan, for Jackman's Wolverine, and Wade Wilson for Reynolds' Deadpool.
The chairs, which are next to each other, face an apparently jungle-like landscape.
Jackman, 55, reshared Reynolds' post via his Instagram Story but did not add any comment.

For his part, Levy also reshared Reynolds' photo, writing, “Happiest director ever.”
Reynolds, 47, announced in September 2022 that Jackman would reprise his role for a third time. Deadpool episode after hanging up his iconic claws in 2017.
“We've been working hard on the next Deadpool movie for a long time, but now I've really had to search my world over this. His first appearance in the MCU obviously has to feel special,” Reynolds said in a video shared via X at the time. “We have to stay true to the character, find new depth, new motivation, new meaning. Every Deadpool [movie] must stand out and distinguish itself.”
In the clip, Reynolds explained that he and the creative team had one idea that would make the film special before being joined by a special guest.

“But we did have one idea. Hey Hugh, wanna play Wolverine one more time? Reynolds asked as Jackman appeared and replied, “Yeah, sure, Ryan.”
Two months after revealing his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jackman explained where the idea for his comeback came from.
“I had a week's holiday [Broadway’s The Music Man] and I was driving away, and it just kind of occurred to me. I called Ryan as soon as I arrived and he was shocked,” Jackman recalled during a December 2022 appearance on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show. “Interestingly, he was about to have a meeting Kevin Feige at Marvel at 5 that afternoon around Deadpool movie. And so he says, “This is really good timing, but are you really sure? Because I don't want to say anything.' I said, 'I'm one hundred percent sure.' And I don't know why, because I was one hundred percent sure I left early. And then suddenly I was 100 percent into it.”

Filming for Deadpool 3 began in February 2023. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, production was halted in July 2023. After the strike ended, Variety reported that the film would resume in November 2023.
Although the film was originally set to premiere in May 2024, the fallout from the strike pushed the release date back to July 26, 2024. Reynolds confirmed that the new film would be a summer release.
“Did Dogpool save the day?” Not a chance in Gremlin hell. But she is currently causing nightmares in the Disney plush merchandise department,” he wrote via X next to a photo of a dog dressed as Deadpool in November 2023. “Coming with the movie, summer 2024.”
