Practice makes perfect! Princess Beatrice carried her mother Sarah Ferguson‘s family tiara to attend Jordan’s royal wedding, but there was almost a faux pas in getting it ready.

“I think the first hairdresser she went to… put the tiara on because she thought she was watching too much Disney. [It was] right up front,” the Duchess of York, 63, said of her eldest daughter, 34, during Wednesday’s June 7 episode of her “Tea talks” podcast. “Beautiful hairdresser in Jordan, very nice I’m sure, but I think they had studied Disney princesses.”

Ferguson – who shares daughters Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with her ex-husband Prince Andrew – noted that her firstborn then corrected the styling attempt.

“Beatrice put it on herself, but she looked incredible. I was very, very proud of her,” said the A very intriguing lady author gushed during Wednesday’s episode.

Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzistepped out Crown Prince Hussein of Jordanto the royal wedding Rajwa Al-Saif at Zahran Palace earlier this month. The financial adviser stunned in an embellished Reem Acra gown, which she topped off with the crown Ferguson had worn during her July 1986 wedding to Andrew, now 63. (The couple eventually divorced in 1996.)

“Funnily enough, I keep it in the safe, but it’s a nice gift from [Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip] on my wedding day,” the Duchess recalled on Wednesday about the headpiece. “It used to be very clean [Beatrice wore it] because I light it up and I was very proud that she wore it. I was very honored that she wore my tiara, which is a beautiful gift.”

While Beatrice and her 39-year-old husband attended the wedding, Ferguson watched the couple’s 18-month-old daughter, Sienna.

“While Beatrice was away in Jordan, I was allowed to have Sienna [over] to play and stay with me,” the children’s book author told her co-host Sarah Thomson, noting that she is called “GG” by her grandchildren. “It’s been great fun. I’ve really bonded over the last few days [with her], and guess what my band is? I gave her a sip of tea from my teacup!”

Ferguson only gave her granddaughter a “little sip” from her cup of cold water, which she called a “little treat from GG.”

The founder of Sarah’s Trust is also a grandparent to Eugenie, 33, and her husband Jack Brooksbank‘s two sons – August, 2, and Ernest, who was born late last month – and Beatrice’s 7-year-old stepson, Wolfie, who shares Mozzi with a former partner.
