Mindy Kalining is more than a comedic actress. Over the years, the TV writer has built a reputation as a pro on the red carpet.

The Massachusetts native – whose real name is Vera Mindy Chokalingam – first squeezed into our hearts in 2005 when she was cast as Kelly Kapoor in The office. In the sitcom, she played the sassy customer service representative, who had a passion for fashion.

The Mindy project star has a taste for style off screen as well. In a 2016 interview with Hi gigglesKaling revealed that “working on The office changed [her] style.” She explained, “I like to run really slow, it’s like my version of therapy. Her dark brown locks were parted to the side and worn in loose waves. That evening she received the Norman Lear Achievement Award for her work as a producer of, among others The Mindy Project, The sex life of college girls, The office, Never have I ever And Velma.

One of Kaling’s most talked about looks was at the 2022 Met Gala. For fashion’s biggest night, the Is everyone hanging out without me? author shone in a lavender blue Prabal Gurung design. The gorgeous dress featured a plunging neckline, flowy skirt, thigh-high slit, 3D floral embellishments on her straps with fabric draped over her back. She paired the outfit with her bob hair, pink eyeshadow, luscious eyelashes, rosy cheeks and velor lips.
