New Delhi: Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, has stated that the state plans to build tunnels to allow all-weather connections to the upper parts of the district. According to the chief minister, the studies would be carried out for the construction of tunnels under Kharapathar on the Kotkhai-Hatkoti road and to connect the landlocked Dodra-Kawar area of ​​the district.

The change is intended to give this beautiful location connectivity in all weather conditions. In addition, it will make it easier for farmers to sell their goods on the market.

Tunnel on national highway 705

The CM further said that a proposed tunnel on National Highway 705 under Kharapathar will reduce the distance between Shimla and Rohru by about 10 to 12 kilometers and ensure an all-weather connection to the entire upper Shimla area.

In addition to the construction of the tunnel ensuring that this beautiful area is accessible in all weather conditions, the construction of the tunnel will also make it easier for farmers to market their products,” said the CM.

As a result of the tunnel, the distance between the capital and Rohru will be reduced by 10-12 km. In addition, the tunnel will improve connectivity to numerous other unknown areas, including Chanshal, Kuppad, Giri Gang, Monal Danda, Samarkot, Khadrala, Sungri, Chunjar and Hatkoti.

The report further adds that the state administration is working to ensure that all current road projects in the state are completed on schedule because the state’s roads are its lifeline. Better connectivity for locals and tourists traveling to the state would be made possible by an all-weather road.
