Four ways to show mom you care this Sunday – without spending a lot of money
IT’S the weekend to make your mom feel extra special.
But you don’t have to spend a lot on Mother’s Day to show that you care.
With a little time, you can create meaningful gifts without a huge price tag. Here are some ideas. . .
OBSTACLE: Putting together a basket of your mom’s favorite treats can be scaled up or down depending on your budget.
Start with a £3 felt flower basket from Flying Tiger.
Line the bottom with some colored tissue paper or shredded colored paper to make it look more presentable.
For an easy win, simply add mom’s favorite chocolate bar, plus a mini bottle of pink sparkling water.

Choose a series of photos of you and your mother and place them in an album or stick them in a scrapbook with some written descriptions and funny anecdotes.
TEA TIME: If you are creative, you can paint your own mug and give it to mom. Every time she drinks a cup of tea, she will think of you.

You don’t have to be good at art, you can just paint over the word “Dear Mom” and add a few decorative embellishments, like hearts.
SUPER SCRUB: It’s mom’s day to be pampered — and a homemade body scrub should help.
For packaging, use an old, clean jam jar with the labels removed.
Then buy a packet of brown sugar (£1.80, Tesco) and scoop out enough to fill the jar three-quarters full.
Mix in a bowl with about a quarter of the coconut oil from the jar (€1.99, Aldi).
Then pour into the jam jar. You can also add a few drops of essential oils. When you’re done, simply tie a ribbon around the top of the pot.
