AMIR KHAN has backed Wayne Rooney against Jamie Vardy and even offered to train the Manchester United legend.

Rooney was linked with a move to the ring after Misfits Boxing – home of celebrity-style crossover fights – sent the ex-England captain a proposal.

And soon talk turned to who would face the Three Lions icon on his boxing debut – with Vardy considered a perfect opponent.

Their wives, Coleen and Rebekah, were at the center of the infamous Wagatha battle that gripped the country.

Even British boxing hero Khan would like to see the former international teammates settle things in the ring.

He told Gambling zone: “Jamie Vardy is the right fight for Wayne Rooney, that’s a very good, even fight.

“They have the fight their wives have had, what a fight that would make, it would sell well. They are also both around the same level.

‘They are both newcomers. I would back Wayne though because Wayne is more street oriented, he’s sturdier.”

Rooney, 38, retired in 2021 and moved into management but was sacked by Birmingham in January.

Meanwhile, Vardy, 37, is still playing with Leicester in the Championship.

And if he ever fought Rooney, ex-world champion Khan would be in the opposite corner.

He said: “I would like to train and help Wayne Rooney. Athletes have a lot of respect for each other because they have been there and done it, so they listen to you more than a normal trainer.

“If you train with another athlete, it will push you and you will train hard.”

Rooney finally broke his silence amid the boxing rumors on an episode of The Overlap in February.

He said: “They have reached out and asked the question but I think at the moment I want to concentrate on my return to management, not boxing.

‘There have been a few [offers] and of course Misfits have been in and it’s been all over the news.

“But listen, I want to focus on my return to management, that’s my focus.”

The former world champion and Sky Sports pundit also faced homelessness as his battle to clear his name wiped out his savings.

Three waitresses claimed he touched their arms in a sexual manner during a dinner ahead of the world title fight between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September 2021.

McCrory, 59, denied any sexual motive and insisted he was just trying to get their attention.

Last September he was cleared of all charges in just 90 minutes at Wood Green Crown Court in north London.

And he is now working with homeless charity CEO Sleepout to raise awareness of the plight facing record numbers in Britain.

Since 2010, the number of 'rough sleeps' has increased by 74 percent and the charity organizes rough sleeps for business leaders every year to raise funds and awareness.

This year's fundraising campaign will kick off on March 21 with an event at Newcastle United's St James' Park stadium.

Ex-cruiserweight Glenn from Newcastle said: “I know what it's like to hit rock bottom when I've lost everything.

“I was in the hands of the crisis team and my weight plummeted.

“Everything fell apart.

“It's absolutely terrifying not knowing what your future holds or where your next meal is coming from.

“People see it in the public eye and think they must have a great life, but anyone's world can be pulled out from under them in the blink of an eye – and I'm living proof.

“You could lose your job, savings or family – or simply get sick – and the downward spiral begins.”

Sleepout boss Bianca Robinson said: “Glenn's story is heartbreaking, but it is a stark reminder that anyone can be just a few steps away from becoming homeless.”

The Olympian jumped around on one leg, swaying back and forth and exaggerating many of his body movements.

After a point, the Brit turned around on one leg, after which he was disallowed by the referee.

However, the crowd at Wembley's Ovo Arena loved his stunts as they booed the referee.

Viewers at home were divided in their opinions of his in-ring antics as they took to social media.

One fan wrote: “Moves are fine when it's fluid but he seems to be overdoing it.”

“I was going through the motions, looked at my dad and he was a little annoyed, so I said 'Okay, let me show you what I can do' and I got the job done.

'Don't consider showing disrespectful, it's just my art.

“People may compare me to Prince Naseem, but I'm Ben Whittaker.”

David Haye’s model girlfriend Sian Osborne has ‘rejected’ Helen Flanagan after going on a string of dates with the former boxer.

The former boxing champion, 43, and his girlfriend, 31, are reportedly on their fourth throuple of the year after hitting it off with the Coronation Street star, 33.

Although David and Helen have a ‘flirty’ relationship with each other, Sian does not follow her on social media despite being so close to her husband.

David and Sian, who have been dating since 2020, have been romantically linked while with a number of other people, including former The Saturdays singer Una Healy, 42.

But Una reportedly left the group in February this year, and David and actress Helen are said to have since reconnected after appearing together in the I’m A Celebrity jungle in 2012.

However, according to reports, Helen’s relationship with the former boxer has not been linked to Sian in a romantic ‘throuple’ setting.

According to The sunsaid a source: ‘She has met Sian before and is aware of reports about the setup of their group but is clearly not involved.’

The pair were spotted together at a Heineken after-party following a boxing event at Ovo Arena in London’s Wembley in May, which Sian was also in attendance, according to the Mirror.

The publication claims Helen and David were ‘flirty’, with Sian fully aware of the pair’s dates.

Helen shares three children Matilda, seven, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two, with ex Scott Sinclair.

A source close to Helen told the newspaper: ‘Helen reconnected with David earlier this year. They got along like a house on fire and have messaged a lot since then.

‘Helen and Sian also met and hit it off straight away. Helen is a very open-minded person and the three of them got along well.

‘Helen has had some difficult dating experiences since becoming single, but really enjoys David’s company.’

Former Coronation Street star Helen split from her Bristol Rovers footballer ex Scott Sinclair last year after 13 years.

The source added: ‘Helen and David got on well in the jungle so have seen each other quite a bit over the years. But lately they seem to have really clicked and had that chemistry. They’re having a lot of fun together.’

Una, 42, recently spoke about her romance with David as she wanted to put rumors that she was in trouble ‘to bed’.

She revealed she was looking for a monogamous relationship but decided to date polyamorous David because their romance was “casual, it wasn’t serious.”

Yet David soon introduced Sian to the group, insisting the ladies get to know each other while inviting her to go on holiday with Una.

Although the trio enjoyed an initial short vacation together in Morocco, Una realized during a second trip to Costa Rica that she could no longer be part of the relationship.

While in Central America, she received a “sign” when she heard Brandy and Monica’s song The Boy Is Mine, a song about two love rivals arguing over a man.

Una confessed, “As soon as I got there, I could hear the song. It just wasn’t right.

‘There’s no dynamic there – she’s not my girlfriend – he’s both our friends and I just thought, “I’m out, you can have him.”

However, according to The Sun, Sian appeared to call Una a ‘liar’.

They report that Sian has shared a dictionary definition of the word deluded – in relation to Una’s bold claims.

Alongside the beaming snaps, which she dated from November 2022, she wrote: ‘Hoodwink: verb to deceive or deceive someone.’

The full line-up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has reportedly been revealed.

Soap stars, TV presenters, a retired boxer and a politician have all been named as among the stars heading to the Australian outback.

According to The Sun, 12 celebrities have signed on the dotted line to take part on the new series which premieres on Sunday November 19.

A teaser trailer saw hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly working at a luxury jungle retreat, but ended with the launch date appearing for the first time. 

Confirmation of the I’m A Celebrity start date comes as the jungle campmates began to land in Australia ahead of the show’s launch date.

NIGEL FARAGE

Former UKIP leader Nigel is said to have agreed to take part this year after previously turning down bosses offers several times. 

On his GB News show on October, 30, Mr Farage said he was considering it this time round as he feels he might be able to ‘connect’ with a younger audience.

He said: ‘Several times since 2016 I’ve had I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! from ITV saying to me ”Come into the jungle”.

‘And they’ve always offered me really quite substantial sums of money to do so, and I have always thought ”No, it’s probably not the right thing for me to do”.

The politician-turned-TV presenter said the show has approached him again this year but that ‘unlike previous years’ he is ‘giving it very, very serious consideration’. 

He added that he feels there are ”downsides” to him doing the show but said he would give an ‘absolute definitive answer within the next 48 hours’.

Georgia Toffolo – known best as Toff – won the show in 2017 and was said to be personally managing negotiations between ITV and Mr Farage.

JAMIE-LYNN SPEARS

Britney Spears’ estranged younger sister is swapping Hollywood for the horrors of the Australian wilderness after signing up for the latest series of I’m A Celebrity.

The pop icon’s misgivings towards her younger sister were laid bare in recent autobiography The Woman In Me, in which she claimed Jamie Lynn had refused her plea for help after Britney was admitted to a residential treatment facility, purportedly against her will. 

Jamie Lynn has expressed her own issues with the singer in 2022 warts-and-all memoir Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame, and Figuring it Out. 

Bosses will be hoping the 32-year old mother-of-two will reveal previously unheard details about her fractious relationship with Britney.

JOSIE GIBSON

Earlier this year, Josie was reported to be in advanced talks to be joining the cast of I’m A Celebrity.

‘I’m A Celeb producers have begun negotiations with Josie’s team to try and lure her with a £100,000 contract. Talks are at an advanced stage,’ a source said. 

The source added Josie has been a fan of the ITV series for many years and is now determined to take a bigger step in her TV career.

‘The stint could propel her into the mainstream and land her bigger gigs,’ they said.

Josie rose to fame after winning Big Brother in 2010 and is now a regular presenter on This Morning. 

FRANKIE DETTORI 

Frankie has reportedly told his friends his greatest concern about starring in the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The jockey has been tipped to be heading straight to Australia to munch on some creepy crawlies and challenge himself in some terrifying challenges in the jungle after his retirement. 

It has been reported that the sportsman is keen to star in the ITV show, but isn’t as worried about the bugs or trials as he is about his appearance. 

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: ‘Frankie is excited for the jungle but is just worried about who will do his hair while he is there!’

Frankie, who announced his retirement from horse racing after 35 years in December last year, was reported to be joining I’m A Celeb last month. 

FRED SIRIEIX

First Dates maître Fred, who previously said he ‘would never’ go on the ITV reality show, has been lined up in hopes ‘he’ll be a hit with the ladies.’

Fred once revealed that although he ‘adore’s frogs legs’ the bushtucker trials aren’t up his ‘gastronomie’ standard. 

A TV insider said: ‘Show bosses hope he’ll be a hit with the ladies watching, which is part of the reason they’ve targeted him.

‘Everyone’s really excited that they’re close to signing him up.’ 

NICK PICKARD 

Nick will reportedly be joining his fellow celebrities in the jungle this year.

The Hollyoaks actor, 48, is best known for his role as Tony Hutchinson, which he has played for 28 years.

It has been reported he is in talks to swap Chester for the jungle, when the ITV show launches in November. 

Speaking to The Sun, a TV source said: ‘Tony from Hollyoaks – as Nick will always happily be known as – is an absolute soap legend and a huge signing for I’m A Celeb.

‘Soap stars always do brilliantly on the show because they come with a loyal following and they don’t come more down-to-earth and likeable than Nick. He would be fantastic and make great telly if he makes the final cut.

DANIELLE HAROLD

Danielle is reportedly in talks to appear on the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The former EastEnders actress, 31, won the Serial Drama Performance prize at the National Television Awards earlier this year.

Danielle’s character Lola Pearce died from brain cancer on the soap in May this year as part of a gripping storyline and now the star could be heading into the jungle.

‘Danielle is at the height of her career and in demand after her moving storyline on EastEnders, but she’s really caught the eye of ITV bosses to appear in the upcoming series of the jungle,’ a source told The Sun. 

‘As well as being a talented actress with a huge fanbase, Danielle has a fun personality with a wicked sense of humour, which makes her the ideal campmate for the show.

SAM THOMPSON 

Former Made In Chelsea star Sam is said to have joined the line-up for this year’s show.

The 31-year-old was absent from his podcast, Staying Relevant, with pal Pete Wicks this week, sparking speculation he is headed Down Under to take part in the ITV show.

It comes after his girlfriend Zara McDermott competed in the latest Strictly Come Dancing series. 

A source recently said: ‘Sam is a great signing because he has a huge fan base and a funny self-deprecating personality.

‘While it might put a bit of pressure on their relationship, it’s a huge year for them.’

NELLA ROSE

At just 24 years old, social media influencer Nella will be the youngest cast member on this year’s series.

The former Catfish UK presenter boasts 800,000 subscribers on YouTube and one million followers on TikTok. 

The star is originally from Belgium but she is now based in London. 

Bosses are reportdly hoping Nella will connect with younger viewers and bring in more millenial and gen Z fans to the show. 

MARVIN HUMES

Former JLS star Marvin was reported to have joined the cast earlier this month.

According to The Sun, bosses are hopeful that Marvin’s primetime presenting job as well as his boyband history will be appealing to ITV viewers.

Marvin, 38, and his wife Rochelle, 34, present BBC gameshow The Hit List and have also previously co-hosted This Morning together.

A source said: Marvin would be a brilliant signing. Not only is he known to fans of The X Factor and fans of JLS, but the audience for The Hit List and This Morning spans from kids right through older viewers.

‘And with Rochelle’s backing, he’s got a ready made fan base. He’ll have lots of showbiz stories to tell, too, from his 15 years in the limelight.’

GRACE DENT 

Grace is reportedly set to join the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! line-up and will be entering the Australian jungle later this month, despite previously blasting the show.

According to The Sun, the Masterchef star, who called the show out as ‘puerile’ and ‘dumb’ has signed a deal rumoured to be up to £100,000.

In the past, Grace has branded the show ‘a puerile venture into starvation, televised constipation and animal cruelty, abbreviated by ads for Iceland £1 curries.’

In 2012, she also admitted that she was embarrassed to watch it, saying: ‘I snap my blinds firmly shut before settling down to watch I’m a Celeb, in fear the theme tune alone devalues my property.’
