Dave Myers admitted filming with best friend Si King was a ‘dream come true’ in his emotional final TV appearance, which airs tonight.

The TV chef, 66, died last month, two years after revealing he was undergoing treatment for an unspecified form of cancer.

Viewers will see his final on-screen appearance oTuesday evening, with the BBC airing the broadcast closing episode of The Hairy bikers Go west.

In Dave and Si’s final scenes together, they conclude their incredible journey as they talk about how much the tour meant to them, telling each other they love each other and embracing through tears.

Dave received chemotherapy while filming the 600-mile west coast road trip, and as the journey came to an end in Devon and Dorset he poignantly commented: ‘Who knows what the future holds, but right now I’m living in the present , and it’s pretty good.’

He continued: ‘We had a fantastic time, beautiful scenery, new friends and delicious food.

‘And the two of us are together again, doing what we do best. The West will truly be a trip you will never forget,

“It was great, I love you.”

Fighting back tears as he struggled to find the words to express himself, Si admitted, “I’m just out of words. It’s quite remarkable what he’s done.’

BBC Two has continued to air Dave’s latest Hairy Bikers series, with the iconic duo continuing to tour some of their favorite spots in Britain.

And following news of Dave’s death last month, the pair’s strong friendship and their love of adventure and good food seems even more poignant.

The latest series saw the pair explore a watercress farm, a rum distillery and fishmongers in Exmouth, saving the best for last as they ended the series with a visit to Michael Caines’ Michelin-starred Lympstone Manor.

As the couple explored the chef’s vineyard, Dave said, “You know, this is such a special trip for the two of us.”

“You know, after the last 18 months and knowing you for several years now, Michael and I can honestly say I couldn’t think of a better highlight!”

Dave sits down for a meal in the beautiful restaurant and looks full of happiness as he tucks into the delicious food with his best friend.

He jokingly commented, “I feel like I’m Cleopatra, sitting in a tub of ass milk, you know what I mean?”

As Michael asked confused: ‘Where did that come from Si?’, the Geordie chef replied: ‘Listen, I’ve had 25 years of this guy, it’s like comparisons, I still don’t know to this day where they come from’ .

The strong friendship between the pair is clearer than ever, as Dave continued: ‘It’s been about 650 miles this journey.

“We’ve been on the road for almost twenty years now, you know, from the Baltic Sea to Africa, we’ve always found something good and also the camaraderie and friendship around the table.”

Michael teased, “Well, it only took you twenty years to find me, but I’m so glad you’re here,” while Si added, “But you know we saved the best for last!”

As the episode came to a close, Si reflected, “Well, we made it.”

Dave continued, “And it was tough at times. You know, I was in chemotherapy the whole time we were filming, it wasn’t easy, but we’re here, you know, and it’s just an amazing feeling. Now that I’m here with you, I long for this.

Choking back tears, Si said, “We did it, but more importantly, he did it. He’s my buddy, but I love him like family, like a brother, and… I’m at a loss for words. It’s quite remarkable what he’s done.

“This is a reward for your hard work, your will, your efforts,” he added, as Dave admitted: “It’s a dream come true, Kingy…

‘The two of us are back together and doing what we do best. The West will truly be a journey you will never forget.’

As the two embraced in one final hug before the end credits, they said, “It was amazing,” as Si agrees, “It is, bro, it is.”

Dave kissed him on the cheek and said, “I love you,” and Si replied, “I love you too,” as the couple’s television tour came to an end.

After the credits rolled, a tribute read: “In loving memory of our friend, Dave Myers.”

“Who knows what the future holds, but right now I'm living in the present, and that's pretty good, I can tell you that,” Dave said.

Dave was filming his final show last year, which had only just aired on BBC Two, when Si announced his friend had died.

The BBC decided to continue broadcasting the series as a tribute.

The week after his death, the Hairy Bikers Instagram page announced that they would still air the remaining episodes because Dave “would have wanted to.”

A caption on a photo of the double act next to a steam train read: ‘The next episode of Go West is on BBC2 tonight. Despite such sad times, we know Dave would have wanted you to continue to enjoy the magical series he created with Si last year.”

‘We would like to thank everyone from around the world who has sent messages of love and support over the past few days. They have all been read and highly appreciated.

Previous episodes in the series showed Si filming solo while Dave continued his treatment.

When the TV chef was left without his significant other, Si shared some heartfelt words as he reflected on how strange it felt to be without his partner.

He admitted: “I really wish my best friend was here because he would absolutely love this,” before adding: “It’s strange without him.”

The Hairy Bikers have always been a double act, and Si admitted he found it strange traveling alone by bike.

“I especially didn’t enjoy riding alone, but I’m going to bring him back some produce and start nibbling on it. It’s strange without him.’

When Dave returned to visit a historic railway line in Portmadog, he harbored a lifelong ambition to drive a steam train.

The star explained: ‘When I visited this area as a young lad, Bob would have already been working on these impressive locomotives. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the money to ride these rails at the time, so this trip feels all the more special.”

After watching his good friend go through the experience, Si said, “It was fun seeing my best friend drive a train. It was just lovely to see a smile on his face because he was having a bloody hard time.’

Dave added: “I missed this, last year Kingy, such a terrible year,” before continuing with the heartbreaking words: “Thirty years we’ve been talking nonsense, and yet it goes on for a long time.”

Dave announced he was receiving treatment for cancer in May 2022 and bravely kept the public informed of his progress in a series of emotional TV specials.

He died in late February with his family and friends by his side, including his lifelong friend Si.

It was Si who announced the sad news of Dave’s death and shared a tribute on social media.

The final episode of Hairy Bikers Go West airs on BBC Two on Tuesday at 8pm

A loving son has given his parents the ultimate Christmas gift by paying off their mortgage.

Touching video shows father Wayne Benn unwrapping a shoebox-sized gift from his son Oscar Benn, expecting to see a box of chocolates.

Instead, the box contained a check for $130,000, enough to pay off his Gold Coast home.

‘That’s nonsense! That can not be true. Is that serious?’ Wayne asked incredulously.

“It’s real,” Oscar said.

The stunned father begins to burst into tears.

‘Are you crying? Don’t cry,” said one of the gathered family members.

Wayne Benn was amazed to discover that his son had given him a check for $130,000 to pay off his mortgage

Wayne throws the check to his wife and Oscar’s mother Kari Benn, who silently read the number before bursting into tears.

“I’m not doing two days a week, I’m quitting,” Wayne laughed.

Oscar then gave both his parents an emotional hug.

The family was in awe of the moment before Wayne decided to change the mood in typical Australian fashion.

“Okay, let’s go to the beach,” he said.

Oscar’s brother Hudson Benn posted the video on his Facebook page.

“Oscar has always had an entrepreneurial streak and today he received the remainder of his mother and father’s mortgage payment,” Hudson wrote.

“It’s a real honor for how beautiful and generous his heart is and how wonderful Mom and Dad have been to us as parents. A beautiful Christmas morning.’

Before Wayne opened the gift, Oscar read an emotional message to his parents from a Christmas card.

“The older I get, the more I appreciate you being my parents,” he read.

“I’m so proud that you are my parents.”

Oscar said he wants to show the same love his parents have for each other.

“Thank you for showing me what it looks like to love Jesus, and Dad, thank you for showing us what it looks like to love Mom and what it is to be a great dad.” , he reads.

‘Thank you for always supporting me, encouraging me and praying for me.

“You will never understand the impact you have had on my life. We boys are so grateful to you.’

The family has been contacted for comment.

An Antiques Roadshow guest was left in tears after discovering the immense value of her childhood teddy bear, which was kept in a carrier bag for years.

Sunday’s Christmas special featured only toys, as the audience and experts shared their favorite play things from the past.

And one lady brought along a bear that turned out to be incredibly rare and made by Steiff, now known for making teddies for the luxury brand Louis Vuitton.

Revealing how she came to own the item, the lady explained: ‘It belonged to my great aunt and when she passed away it went to my mother and now I am currently the custodian of it.’

The furry bear also hosted a water fight and left expert Bunny Campione almost speechless as she clapped his eyes.

Saying: Well, I have to admit that I hope I wasn’t too startled when I saw you come to my table. I think I screamed, didn’t I?’

An excited bunny then praised the item before finally giving her stunning rating.

‘So we’re talking about a Steiff teddy bear, circa 1904, incredibly rare colour, a rare size as most were smaller than this, and worth £15,000.’

Totally shocked and awestruck, the guest asked, “What 15?” before admitting: ‘It’s just in a bag in the wardrobe.’

It comes after another guest was previously shocked to discover the value of an old broken watch her father picked up from an army store for just £20.

In one episode, members of the public brought their worldly goods to Powis Castle in Wales, with one woman keen to learn more about the timepiece from expert Richard Price – who labeled it the ‘rarest of them all’.

The lady explained that she thought it was a World War II pilot’s watch and was relieved to discover she had been right.

Richard explained that the item had actually been used by the Luftwaffe, the German air force, and would have had a large leather strap – which was now missing.

An excited bunny then praised the item before eventually giving her a stunning £15,000 rating.

Going on to say that if it were made by A. Lange & Söhne, a German company that supplied timepieces to the Nazis, it would significantly increase the price.

Then he opened the watch and said, ‘Joy of joy, it’s A. Lange & Söhne [all collectors] want to’.

Richard then concluded that the item was from 1941 and said that the reason it was so rare and in such high demand was because the company’s factory was bombed in 1945.

The lady, stunned by the news, said how her father had picked it up in Weymouth for £20 in the early 1970s and how he loved rummaging around in old shops.

Before you ask: ‘Was it a good buy?’

‘Quite a good buy,’ exclaimed Richard, ‘I think I’d be quite happy if I’d paid £20.’

He again referred to the ‘rarest items’ that ‘all collectors want’ before revealing it was worth between £8,000 and £10,000.

Completely shocked, the lady joked: ‘Maybe I won’t take him home [my father].

Sam Thompson choked back tears as he paid tribute to his girlfriend Zara McDermott and best friend Pete Wicks in an emotional interview on Monday.

The Made In Chelsea star, 31, was crowned King of the Jungle during Sunday night’s I’m A Celebrity final and was greeted by Pete on the bridge.

Love Island star Zara, 26, stayed at the couple’s home in Britain during Sam’s three-week stint in the jungle after believing she wouldn’t be able to make the trip because she was starring in Strictly Come Dancing.

Zara hosted a viewing party at their home for the final, and as a surprise for her boyfriend, she sent a sweet video message which was played on ITV’s Lorraine.

Zara turned to her boyfriend of four years and said, “I don’t even think the word proud will cut it anymore. The way you behaved in that jungle and made everyone feel so comfortable, you brought such a sparkle to that camp.”

She continued, “I’ve never networked with anyone like you. I love you so much and can’t wait to have you back.’

Overcome with emotion, Sam said, “That’s the sweetest thing, when you see something like that, that’s my little goose!”

‘I miss her so much. I know she slept on my side every night and I am so lucky to have her in my life. There are so many people asking, “How did you do that?” and I don’t know.

‘Sometimes I wake up to see if she’s still there and if it’s a dream and luckily it’s not! I’m so lucky to have her in my life.’

Sam was also full of kind words when asked about TOWIE star Pete, saying: ‘Pete is the best friend anyone could ever ask for.

‘He is not immediate family and he has been coming here for two weeks and has been a source of support for my girlfriend who couldn’t be there, and for my mother and my friends.

‘Even in his hotel he now shows me around asking: ‘Are you okay, mate?’ I’ve never had this from him before, he is usually very strict!

“And with him at the end of the bridge, if it wasn’t Zara, it was him. I’m just so lucky, I owe him a lot.”

He admitted he had been ‘overwhelmed’ by the support he had seen and had cried when he saw a video of his loved ones hosting an I’m A Celeb party. lots of dinners!’

Although Sam is tipped to make millions after leaving the Jungle, he confessed he hasn’t thought about what his next move will be.

He mused: “I keep sounding so corny, that’s the great thing about doing a show like this, I’m very happy with where I am now. I have my radio show and my podcast…

“I just wanted to do the show for the most amazing experience in the world. The great thing is that I don’t even know if I should do anything else.

‘I’m already so lucky, so I have no idea what or if I’ll do anything else.’

One thing Sam does have planned is working with campmate Marvin Humes, as he revealed: “He said I can come and do a bit with them on the JLS tour next year!”

Sam was also asked how he kept his positive attitude at camp, as he explained, “It was just such a cool experience. It’s easy to be happy there, I’ve been a fan for so long.

“This sounds weird, but when you’re there with real celebrities, it’s the coolest thing in the world. I’ve been watching the show for so many years and being with all these people, they can’t leave!’

During Sunday’s final, Sam jumped into the arms of runner-up Tony Bellew as hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced the results, before admitting he was ‘blown away’.

He said: ‘I’m really overwhelmed, I didn’t even think I would be invited to the show. I don’t know what to say.’

When asked what he had to say to those who voted for him, he tearfully said: “I’m so grateful, thank you so much. I’ve been dreaming of doing this show for years and you’ve made a childhood dream come true.’

Tony wasn’t too disappointed to finish second as he felt his new friend was a more than worthy winner.

He said: ’10 days ago I knew. When I first met him, I knew I had never met anyone like him before… He deserves it more than anything and I couldn’t be happier.”

Sam had been open about being a super fan of the show and admitted it was ‘100 times’ better than he expected.

In an interview with Tony prior to the result, he was asked if it had met his expectations and said: ‘It did so much more, I’ve never been so shocked in my life, times 100 everything, the little moments are the best moments too.

‘My favorite time in the whole jungle was when Snake Rock came back and we had the whole family together again… The atmosphere was so great and I thought, “I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy as I am.” now”.’

Chennai: After the celebration of Diwali, a pile of firecracker waste piled up on the roads of Chennai in Tamil Nadu on Monday morning. The city’s air was also filled with haze as residents continued to set off firecrackers late into the night, violating the timing fixed by the state government. It is worth noting that the use of fireworks was only allowed from 6am to 7am and then from 7pm to 8pm.

Before Diwali, the Greater Chennai Corporation had urged people to dispose of firecracker waste properly. In 2022, the southern city witnessed the collection of approximately 235 tons of cracker waste, underscoring the importance of responsible waste management during the festive season. Corporation Commissioner J. Radhakrishnan stated that fireworks waste would be sent to an incinerator instead of landfills.

Delhi Chocks after Diwali Celebrations; Anand Vihar AQI touches 969

New Delhi: Just two days after the relief caused by the rains, a dense smog again engulfed the national capital and the NCR region on Monday morning. This revival followed people’s fireworks display on Diwali night, ignoring the Supreme Court’s ban order. Images shared by news agency ANI show a thick haze covering every part of the city, severely reducing visibility to just a few hundred meters. The Supreme Court’s ban on the use of barium and certain chemicals in fireworks applies not only to the NCR but to the entire country.

Air Pollution in Delhi: Best Air

The national capital witnessed the best air quality in eight years on the morning of Diwali day. People woke up to clear skies and the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) at 202 at 7am, the best in at least three weeks.

Air pollution in Delhi: People ignore ban on fireworks

Even after the ban on fireworks, people burst firecrackers, making for a hazy morning on Monday. The AQI also reached alarming numbers this morning.

The Delhi government has imposed a complete ban on fireworks. In response to the pollution crisis, the government even adopted the concept of ‘artificial rain’ to tackle the city’s polluted air, until a sudden downpour provided significant relief and reduced pollution levels.

Air pollution in Delhi: AQI in different areas

At 5.30 am on Monday, Delhi’s air quality index stood at 514, surpassing the 320 mark on the air quality index, which was classified as “hazardous” by Swiss group IQAir. According to IQAir’s assessment, Delhi on Monday holds the unenviable position of being the most polluted city in the world.

Anand Vihar reported the highest level of air pollution, with the AQI reaching 969 (hazardous) at 5 a.m., according to aqicn.org.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Anand Vihar recorded an average AQI of 289 at 5 am even as PM2.5 levels shot up and touched the 500 mark. Similarly, RK Puram recorded an AQI of 281 at 5 am with PM2.5 being the major pollutant reaching the 500 mark. The city’s PM2.5 concentration has been measured at 20 times the limit recommended by the World Health Organization. This prompted the city council to mandate the closure of all primary classrooms and restrict access for trucks.

Noida, Gurugram Air Pollution

According to CPCB data, the AQI in Noida clocked at 269 (poor) in sector 62. But the PM2.5 levels touched the 500 mark.

In Gurugram, the overall AQI was 329 (very poor) while PM2.5 levels were close to 500.

Air Pollution in Delhi: CPCB Forecast

Notably, in 2023, between November 2 and 9, the national capital experienced the longest and most severe streak of air pollution, with an AQI above 390 for eight consecutive days.

AQI is expected to remain in the ‘severe’ to ‘very poor’ category for the six days after November 14.

Air pollution in Delhi: health advice

Amid rising air pollution levels, Delhi’s health department has issued an advisory to address the impact of this environmental problem. The advice underlines the importance of taking essential measures to protect public health, with a focus on vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, persons with underlying medical conditions, children and the elderly.

Air Pollution in Delhi: GRAP 4 Regulations

To combat pollution and ensure compliance with anti-pollution measures, police are inspecting trucks carrying non-essential goods at various borders, including Ghazipur and Tikri borders, as part of GRAP 4 regulations.

As per Delhi’s air pollution control strategy (GRAP Stage IV), only CNG, electric and BS VI compliant vehicles from other states are allowed to enter the city, excluding those engaged in essential services.

Air pollution in Delhi: artificial rain

The Delhi government is gearing up for a round of artificial rain in the city on November 20 and 21 to ease the suffering of residents who have been facing a sharp decline in air quality over the past week.

Air pollution in Delhi: reason behind deteriorating air quality

Air quality in Delhi-NCR has deteriorated over the past week due to falling temperatures, stagnant winds limiting the spread of pollution, and an increase in post-harvest stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana.

Air Pollution in Delhi: Weather Conditions, Stubble Burning Primary Reasons

Adverse meteorological conditions, along with firecracker emissions, stubble burning and local sources of pollution, combine to push air quality in Delhi-NCR to dangerous levels during the winter season. According to news agency ANI, more than 2,500 cases of stubble burning have been reported this year.

New Delhi: Delhi-NCR’s air quality approached the emergency threshold on Thursday, prompting an immediate ban on non-essential construction work and the closure of primary schools in the capital as authorities moved quickly to tackle the health-threatening pollution. As a dense and pungent haze blanketed the Delhi-NCR skyline, the concentration of PM2.5, fine particles that can penetrate deep into the respiratory system and cause health problems, exceeded the safe limit of 60 micrograms per cubic meter by seven. increased eightfold at several locations in the region.

The city’s AQI fell to 422 at 10pm, the worst so far this season. The average 24-hour AQI was 364 on Wednesday, 359 on Tuesday, 347 on Monday, 325 on Sunday, 304 on Saturday and 261 on Friday.

Not only Delhi, but several cities in neighboring Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh also reported dangerous air. These include Hanumangarh (438) and Sri Ganganagar (359) in Rajasthan; Hisar (414), Fatehabad (423), Jind (413), Rohtak (388), Sonepat (374), Kurukshetra (343), Karnal (343), Kaithal (379), Bhiwani (355), Faridabad (368) and Gurugram (297) in Haryana; and Ghaziabad (286), Noida (313) and Greater Noida (402) in Uttar Pradesh.

Scientists have warned of further deterioration in air quality in Delhi-NCR in the next two weeks.

Delhi-NCR AQI severe to dangerous: here are the top 10 points

  1. Alarmed by the spike in air pollution levels, the Centre’s pollution control panel has ordered an immediate ban on non-essential construction, stone crushing and mining in the region.
  2. Restrictions have also been imposed on plying of BS III petrol and BS IV diesel four-wheelers in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar. The transport department said a fine of Rs 20,000 would be imposed on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles.
  3. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that all government and private primary schools in the city will remain closed for the next two days due to rising pollution.
  4. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), a statutory body responsible for developing strategies to combat pollution in the region, said pollution levels are “only expected to increase further” due to very adverse meteorological and climatic conditions .
  5. Health professionals have raised concerns that air pollution increases asthma and lung problems in children and the elderly.
  6. Air pollution in India resulted in 1.67 million deaths in 2019 – the largest death toll from pollution in any country in the world – and was responsible for $36.8 billion in economic losses, according to a new study by researchers at the Global Observatory on Pollution and Health at Boston College, the Indian Council of Medical Research and the Public Health Foundation of India.
  7. One of the major reasons behind the accumulation of pollutants in the past few days is the lack of rainfall during this post-monsoon season so far. Unfavorable meteorological conditions, combined with emissions from firecrackers, rice straw burning and local pollution sources, contribute to hazardous air quality levels in Delhi-NCR during winters.
  8. Delhi Environment Minister Rai on Wednesday announced that the city government would ban construction work in areas where the AQI remains above 400 for five consecutive days.
  9. The Delhi government last month launched a 15-point action plan to reduce air pollution during the winter season, with a strong focus on tackling dust pollution, vehicular emissions and open burning of waste.
  10. It has launched the ‘Red Light on Gaadi Off’ campaign to combat vehicular pollution and plans to hire 1,000 private CNG buses to strengthen public transport and reduce vehicular pollution.
