She’s known for her risque, explicit ensembles that include sheer bodysuits, skin-tights leggings and cleavage-baring tops.

But it’s not the runway that Bianca Censori is debuting her stylish looks on, but rather bizarrely ordinary venues – including the Cheesecake Factory restaurant, Starbucks and a Westfield mall.

While it’s clear rapper Kanye West – who goes by ‘Ye’ – still has influence in the fashion world despite falling out of favour due to anti-Semitic and sexist outbursts,  the ordinary streets of West Hollywood have now become his catwalk.

The brains behind Yeezy, 46, is styling his wife, 29, in flesh-baring outfits, but the couple are more likely to be pictured popping in and out of parking lots than rubbing shoulders at premieres with A-listers – which perhaps makes Bianca’s outfit choices seem even more outrageous.

Just yesterday, Bianca stunned onlookers as she stepped out in Los Angeles wearing a racy look inspired by his ex-wife Kim Kardashian as she left a tanning salon in

West Hollywood with Kanye.

Just yesterday, Ye’s wife stunned onlookers as she stepped out in Los Angeles wearing a racy look inspired by his ex-wife Kim Kardashian

She had on a metallic silver micro miniskirt and thong underwear that exposed her bare butt cheeks as well as a busty triangle bikini top.

Bianca’s outfit looked straight out of Kim’s closet. Kim, 43, is an avid wearer of silver bikinis and her clothing brand SKIMS famously released a metallic swimwear line in the summer of 2022.

However, in contrast, the reality star sported the ensemble at venues where audacious clothing choices were expected: A SKIMS pop-up in Miami and glamorous beach holidays, posing up a storm on the shore.

Elsewhere Bianca and Ye headed to the mall in yet another explicit outfit on Monday.

The couple were spotted strolling through The Grove in LA, and heading to family restaurant The Cheesecake Factory to grab a bite.

Earlier in the day, at a Beverly Hills building for a business meeting, the rapper was seen pulling down the model’s see-through, neon green tights, which she wore as pants and paired with a tiny, light beige tube top.

She sported a pair of black, pointed-toe pumps and nothing else to complete her risqué ensemble.

Meanwhile last month, the couple were going for dinner in Paris – and Bianca sported crotch-flashing tights, but covered the area with her phone.

In December, Bianca wore a skintight ivory leotard when hitting Disneyland with the rapper and his 10-year-old daughter North.

Bianca, who has developed a reputation for her jaw-dropping outfits, did not seem bothered that her plunging neckline served up a generous helping of cleavage.

It was a very unusual outfit to model while at the Anaheim, California amusement park that is attended mostly by children. Bianca added yellow boots that looked like high socks.

Ye also stood out for having what appeared to be a gray shirt over his head, which covered his face from the nose down.

In October, the couple also grabbed some Starbucks in Milan, where Bianca stepped out in a revealing white body suit with a plunging neckline.

She donned silver leggings and beige high heels to complete the look.

And it’s not just for outside spectators. In January Ye uploaded a series of scandalous pictures of his wife Bianca posing almost naked, in a nude string thong one piece.

In one of the photos uploaded by the controversial rapper, Bianca stood facing the kitchen counter preparing food whilst wearing the barely there garment, black knee-high boots and a bizarre leather mask.

Ye captioned the shocking picture ‘cream of wheat,’ suggesting that his architect wife was cooking up some porridge in her strange outfit.

The former husband of American media star Kim uploaded another snap of his much younger wife facing a wall in an empty hallway wearing the same provocative outfit with no caption.

It’s not the first time Ye has appeared to rely on the shock value of audacious dressing in seemingly bizarrely regular settings.

His honeymoon with Kim, back in 2014, was not set at the celebrity-beloved Lake Como or the French Riviera – but rather, wildly, County Laois in Ireland.

The couple were even spotted leaving the Odeon in Portlaoise before being snapped outside another cinema in Tullamore – around 20 miles away.

The avid cinemagoers are said to have watched X-Men: Days Of Future Past during the first stage of their marathon film-fest.

While still R-rated in nature, it’s likely Bianca’s ensembles wouldn’t cause as much of a commotion if they were contained within the glitz and glamour of Hollywood’s stylist-dressed A-listers.

A number of stars even appear to be taking inspiration from her.

Earlier this month Kristen Stewart stole the spotlight at the Love Lies Bleeding premiere in Beverly Hills.

The 33-year-old Twilight alum left onlookers in awe as she graced the red carpet in an eye-popping ensemble, just two weeks after surprising fans with her Rolling Stones cover featuring a jockstrap.

Rocking a barely-there black bodysuit, the gorgeous star paired the look with sheer stockings and impossibly high black heels.

She casually draped a black tuxedo jacket off her shoulders, complementing her look as she gathered her brunette tresses into a messy yet stylish bun.

Meanwhile, US rapper Coi Lerpy wore another thigh-skimming outfit to the Grammy’s.

The Baby Don’t Hurt Me hitmaker opted for a YSL bodysuit from the 2019 archive.

The highcut pant, paired with tights and a blazer without a top, was also reminiscent of Mrs Kanye West.

Meanwhile, The Crown’s Emma Corrin has also been known to rock a leotard.

They first opted for one on the red carpet in 2022, while wearing blue tights and no trousers to a recent event at the South Bank centre.

Miley Cyrus also opted for a no trouser look in a see-through mesh dress to the Grammy’s, as did Doja Cat.

In the UK, singer Tallia Storm went trouser-less to the BRITs, opting for a shirt, Union Jack blazer and stockings.

Ye has been accused of exhibiting controlling behaviour in his relationship with Bianca.

He is thought to have banned her from using social media to protect her from negative comments, according to insiders, who claim her friends believe it’s really another tactic to further ‘isolate’ her.

Despite the architectural designer’s loved ones even staging an intervention concerning her relationship with the rapper and his ‘controlling ways,’ her husband appears to have changed her attitude towards social media.

Her style and look has completely changed since she began dating the rapper.

‘Bianca has always had social media and she was active on it – until she married Kanye,’ an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.

‘He doesn’t want her to have it because he thinks that it will hurt her if she had to read the nasty things that people say.

‘He convinced her that, since she is a star now, she has to remain a mystery and it is creepy to those who know her as it feels like another form of control.’

However, friends have taken issue with the fact the rapper, who goes by the name Ye, is posting racy images of his wife on his own Instagram account – despite allegedly claiming she needs protection.

The insider added: ‘He is pushing her nakedness all over his own [account] so that he can control her narrative. It is disturbing, and by shutting her off from the world he is causing her to become more and more isolated.’

Friends are said to be stunned to see the usually assertive designer going along with Kanye’s demands as the source stressed: ‘This strong Bianca that was not going to deal with his s*** anymore has seemingly vanished once again.

‘She is wearing what he wants, going where he wants and doing what he wants because she really has no other choice. She went from being his designer to his wife, which is unfortunately, not a paid position. She’s trapped.’

Back in October, DailyMail.com revealed that the Grammy-winning rapper had instructed his wife to ‘never speak’ – and issued her a set of rules to live by, including specific foods she can eat and what she can wear.

Insiders claimed the designer has ‘no mind of her own anymore’ and instead simply ‘obeys’ the controversial rapper, because he has convinced her they have ‘royal’ status.

‘Kanye has a set of rules for Bianca, which includes never speak and wear what he wants her to wear,’ the source explained. ‘She is also required to eat certain food items and to work out even though Kanye doesn’t work out.’

Bianca and Kanye secretly wed in December 2022, just one month after he finalized his divorce from Kim Kardashian.

Other stars like Bella Hadid and Kanye’s former sisters-in-law Kylie and Kendall Jenner have gone trouserless looks.

Kanye was also known for transforming his ex-wife’s style.

Soon after Kim and Kanye started dating in 2012, he completely overhauled her closet – forcing her to get rid of everything that he didn’t approve of.

It was documented for an episode of Kim’s reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The clip showed the musician going through all of the star’s clothes, shoes, and handbags – and picking out numerous things that he didn’t like to give away.

‘Babe, you gotta clean out everything,’ he said, as a clearly stressed out Kim stared at one of the purses he wanted to eliminate.

‘No, no I need these,’ she begged as he grabbed a pair of her heels off the shelf. ‘Oh hell no,’ the musician responded.

‘Kanye’s definitely inspired me to want to be more of an individual,’ she said during a confessional. ‘I think my style is just evolving and changing.

‘He’s a fashion designer and he loves clothes so I’m excited to, like, collaborate with him to see what his take on fashion is.’

Throughout their six-year marriage, Kim’s style certainly went through an evolution. Soon after they tied the knot in 2014, she started wearing much more revealing and sensual looks. She also ditched bright patterns and eye-popping colours for darker and simpler outfits instead.

In 2016, she credited Kanye with the change, telling CNN Style, ‘I really think that my relationship with my husband Kanye changed everything.

‘Back in the day, I thought I had the best style. I look back at outfits and I’m, like, mortified.

‘Before, I used to always think more is more and I used to accessorize and wear bracelets and earrings and necklaces. I used to do it all.

‘Now I definitely understand how much cooler it is just to be a little bit simpler.’

It was no secret that Kanye heavily influenced the way Kim dressed while they were together – and after they split in 2021, Kim admitted during an episode of her show that she was struggling to pick out outfits without him.

‘I got to a point where I would ask him for advice for everything – down to what I wear,’ she explained. ‘Now I’m having panic attacks like, what do I wear?

‘I think that fashion has always been something that I’ve always been really into, but I’ve never been the creative.

‘I definitely see what I like but I’ve never really been the visionary. Kanye would come in and be like, “You should do your hair like this. You should do your makeup like this.” That’s his love language, it’s clothes. And so, I always just trusted in him.’

After working with Kanye, Kim became a style icon of the noughties with many A-listers dressing like her.

After Kim and Kanye split, the rapper started dating actress Julia Fox.

Before she was linked to the rapper, Julia would often sport simple and chic looks – including reserved jumpsuits and modest suits.

But soon after she confirmed that she was dating Kanye in early 2022, her sense of style changed practically over night.

During the first weeks of their romance, the Uncut Gems star, now 33, was spotted wearing a slew of daring and bold looks – including a bright blue trench coat, low-rise pants that left her thong on full display, a metallic body suit, and numerous tiny crop tops that completely exposed her stomach.

The couple made headlines in January of that year when they showed up to the Kenzo show at Paris Fashion Week donning matching all-denim looks.

They also wore similar black leather ensembles at the Schiaparelli runway event days later.

Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori headed to the mall in yet another explicit outfit on Monday.

The couple were spotted at The Grove in Los Angeles, and she certainly turned heads with her outrageous and very revealing look.

The rapper, 46, was spotted pulling down the 29-year-old model’s see-through, neon green tights, which she wore as pants and paired with a tiny, light beige tube top.

She sported a pair of black, pointed-toe pumps and nothing else to complete her risqué ensemble.

They held hands as they entered a building, and as they were looking at a directory, West put on a bold display of affection and was seen rubbing her backside.

Their outing comes after Censori stepped out in one of her most daring outfits yet, which was literally hanging on by a thread.

And just like the night before, she rocked her jet black bob in her signature hairstyle as of late — a slicked-back bun.

Censori also appeared to be sporting a minimal makeup look featuring full and dark eyelashes as well as a mauve pink lip.

At her side, the 24-time Grammy winner wore an all-black outfit featuring a cozy hoodie and balloon pants.

He also wore his baggy pants very low and revealed his backside in boxer briefs.

To complete his look, he sported a pair of chunky, black sneakers.

After having a business meeting, the couple were also seen exiting the building with West opening the door for his wife and holding her hand.

They took a break and headed to The Cheesecake Factory at The Grove, where onlookers were seen taking ogling and taking photos of West and his scantily-clad wife.

Censori had notably changed out her shoes for a pair of white sandal heels.

The night before, he wore similar or identical pants and shoes as he stepped out with Censori in Los Angeles.

His wife put on a daring display and nearly risked a wardrobe malfunction in a sheer, black jumpsuit with ultra-thin and nearly invisible straps.

This comes after DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that West had been working to ‘turn things around’ with Censori’s mother.

Censori’s families have frequently expressed their concerns since she tied the knot with West in December 2022.

Some of her loved ones have even reportedly staged an intervention with Censori over West’s alleged ‘controlling ways’.

Recently, insiders claimed that Censori’s father is reportedly keen on confronting the rapper for putting his daughter in X-rated clothing.

Sources claim that he is fearful that West is isolating Censori from her family and turning his beloved daughter into a ‘trashy-looking marketable commodity’ with the shockingly risqué and half-naked looks.

Tesla and a former employee have agreed to settle a closely watched lawsuit that shines a harsh light on the automaker’s treatment of black employees.

Lawyers for Tesla and Owen Diaz, who worked at the company’s factory in Fremont, California, did not disclose the terms of the settlement in a legal filing Friday. “The parties have reached an amicable resolution to their disputes,” Lawrence A. Organ, a lawyer for Mr. Diaz, said in an email, adding that he could not comment further.

Last year, a federal court jury in San Francisco awarded Mr. Diaz $3.2 million after he presented evidence that he was repeatedly harassed by supervisors at Tesla’s factory, including racial slurs more than 30 times. A supervisor drew a racist caricature near his workplace, according to testimony in the case.

Tesla did little to discipline regulators or address widespread racism at the factory, the jury found.

Mr Diaz appealed, saying $3.2 million was insufficient compensation for the psychological damage he suffered, including loss of sleep, depression and damaged relationships with his wife and son. Mr. Diaz’s lawyers also argued that the award was not enough to punish Tesla for failing to stop the harassment.

It was the second trial in this case. In the first time, in 2021, jurors awarded Mr. Diaz $137 million, but a judge ruled the amount was excessive. The second trial last year was exclusively about the amount Mr. Diaz should receive compensation.

U.S. District Court Judge William H. Orrick said in a ruling last year: “Tesla’s conduct was reprehensible and repetitive, and the company failed to take responsibility or change its conduct during Diaz’s time at the company.” But he ruled that $3.2 million was adequate compensation. Mr. Diaz’s appeal of that ruling was pending when he and Tesla agreed to settle.

In court filings, Tesla’s lawyers denied that the company had failed to respond to the harassment. “Tesla had a clear official policy prohibiting racially discriminatory harassment and did not tolerate such behavior,” Tesla lawyers wrote last year. They did not respond to a request for comment Friday.

The snack maker took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to apologize to a fan who shared an unusual pack of Walkers.

User Josh Adamson Posted a photo of his order from Seriously Salt and Vinegar.

But the popular snack package was discoloured.

The retro bag is known among Walkers fans for its characteristic green color.

But in the photo the color seems faded and looks completely faded and blue.

The shocked customer said ironically: “Quality department is working hard, I see.”

In response, the chip manufacturer apologized and admitted that the discoloration was part of a factory printing error.

Despite the error, they reassured the customer and claimed the chips were safe to eat.

A spokesperson said: “Hi Josh, this is a printing error that has occurred with our film suppliers, but rest assured you can enjoy your crisps safely!”

It comes after Walkers left fans devastated again after announcing it had discontinued another “phenomenal” crunchy flavour.

“I loved this one!” shoppers are crying as the ‘divine’ fresh flavor that was discontinued last month returns to Morrisons

This crisp brand has confirmed that one of its Oven Baked crisp ranges has been axed for good.

Shoppers will no longer be able to get their hands on the taste of beetroot and sweet chilli jam made with real vegetables.

The flavor only appeared on the scene in 2019, just over five years later consumers will have to say goodbye to the iconic sweet chips.

The news was revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter, when a fan of the quirky flavor approached Walkers to ask why they couldn’t find the chips in stores.

The entire list of Walkers crunchy flavors has been discontinued

We’ve put together a list of all the popular crunchy flavors that Walker has dropped in recent months.

  1. Worcester sauce – There was an uproar on social media last year after Walkers confirmed it had stopped making the popular Worcester sauce flavour.
  2. Max Heavy Flamin Hot – This flavor was launched in 2021 to attract a younger audience. Fans of the flavor were left devastated in November 2023 when the chips were pulled from shelves for good.
  3. Beef and Onion – Snack fans were shocked when the beef and onion flavor was nowhere to be seen in supermarkets. The beloved flavor was discontinued in 2022, but fans only found out about it last year.
  4. Sizzling steakwotsits – The retro flavor was previously sold as BBQ beef, but was pulled from shelves in the early 2000s. It briefly returned to stores in January 2020 due to high demand, but was gone for good soon after.
  5. Beijing Spare Rib oriental crackers – Walkers confirmed in November last year that it has discontinued another fresh flavor inspired by flavors from around the world.
  6. Salt and Vinegar Quavers – This flavor was first introduced in 1993 and returned to the line-up in 2021, along with shrimp cocktail Quavers, following demand from chip lovers. But unfortunately the crispiness has disappeared again.
  7. Sensational royal lamb and mint – The popular flavor was only available for a specific occasion: the King’s Coronation.
  8. Marmite – This controversial flavor has been on shelves for more than 20 years, but was discontinued at the end of 2023. But it looks like Marmite is taking over as they recently announced they would be producing their own brand of crisps.
  9. Tear ‘n’ Share chips – Walkers confirmed it had discontinued its Tear ‘n’ Share chips in January. The chips are thicker cut chips that come in a separate bag that turns into an easy to share bowl. Walkers confirmed that these have been out of stock for several years.
  10. Smiths Cheese moments -Referred to by fans as “the most underrated chips ever”, this snack was generally sold in pubs. It has even been called the “king of all chips”, but was unfortunately discontinued forever.
  11. Beetroot and sweet chili jam -Fans learned this month that Walkers has stopped making the beetroot and sweet chilli jam in its oven-baked range. The flavor was introduced in 2019 and is made with real vegetables.

“Our Georgia location remains very important to us,” Rivian’s CEO, RJ Scaringe, said Thursday at an event where he unveiled two new SUVs. “It’s the core of scaling up all these vehicles.”

One of the SUVs, called the R2, is a five-passenger vehicle expected to be available in the first half of 2026. Originally, the R2 was to be the first vehicle produced in Georgia. By moving production to Normal, Ill., where the company has a factory, Rivian can deliver the vehicle to customers sooner, Mr. Scaringe said.

The R2 will have a starting price of about $45,000, he said, which is $30,000 less than its larger SUV, the R1S. The R2, Mr. Scaringe said, “combines capability, performance, usability, storage and functionality in a way that we think really fits a huge customer need.”

Rivian also introduced the R3, a compact SUV, and a high-performance version of that vehicle, the R3X. The company did not say when or where those models would be produced.

Delaying construction of the new plant is a setback for Georgia and its governor, Brian Kemp, a Republican, who had promoted the construction as the largest economic development project in the state’s history. Rivian had said it expected the plant to create 7,500 jobs and eventually produce 400,000 vehicles a year.

The most prized pigment of antiquity was processed not from a tangle of roots or the frothy extract of weeds, but by extracting a slimy secretion from the mucus glands behind the anus of Murex sea snails – “the underside of the bottom snails,” the historian Kelly Grovier wrote. The dye’s common name, Tyrian purple, is derived from the habitat of the molluscs, which the Phoenicians reportedly began harvesting in the city-state of Tire in modern-day Lebanon in the 16th century BC.

Because each snail yielded little more than a drop of the secretion – a clear, malodorous liquid – by some accounts it took about 250,000 to produce an ounce of dye. Purple was labor intensive, but produced so widely that piles of shells discarded millennia ago are now geographical features in the region. The dye was also expensive – according to a Roman edict from 301 AD. worth more than three times its weight in gold – that its use was reserved for priests, nobility and royalty. “While purple may have symbolized a higher order, it reeked of a lower order,” writes Dr. Grovier in his book “The Art of Color.”

Where all that purple came from has long been a mystery. Only a few sites along the southern coast of the Levant and in Cyprus show evidence of paint production at the beginning of the period, and all were on a modest scale. But a new study Researchers from the University of Haifa in Israel suggest that during most of the Iron Age Biblical era, from about 1150 B.C., large purple-dying factories.

“Tel Shiqmona fills this gap with continuous production, usually in enormous quantities,” said Golan Shalvi, a postdoctoral student in archeology at the University of Chicago and lead author of the paper. “For most of the Iron Age, this is the only place where production can be demonstrated with certainty.”

Aaron Schmitt, an expert on Phoenician culture who teaches archeology at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and who was not involved in the project, praised the research for shedding new light on the neglected ruins. “Finding a site that really specializes in this economic branch is very important and special,” he said.

The research, published in the Journal of the Institute of Archeology of Tel Aviv, suggests that the Israelites took over Tel Shiqmona in the first half of the ninth century BC and cornered the lucrative purple dye market by converting the small dye plant. in a fortified factory surrounded by a casemate wall. (This was about the same time that Ahab was ruling the kingdom of Israel.)

The new operation was more or less a joint venture, run by the Israelites and staffed by skilled Phoenician workers who held the secrets of making the dye, said Dr. Shalvi. It is unclear whether the local population had continued the operation under duress or through cooperation.

In theory, the goods collected at Tel Shiqmona, mainly purple-dyed wool or textiles, were distributed to the elite and temples throughout the area, including Israel, Phoenicia, Philistia, Aram, Judea and Cyprus. Dr. Shalvi said the dye likely created both the argaman (purple) and tekhelet (azure blue) mentioned dozens of times in the Hebrew Bible. Tekhelet was used to dye tzitzit (tassels) on tallits (prayer shawls) used in Jewish religious rituals, and inspired the blue of the Israeli flag.

“The purple production at Tel Shiqmona overlaps with the existence of the First Temple in Jerusalem,” said Dr. Shalvi, referring to the house of worship that, according to Jewish tradition, was built by King Solomon on the site where God created Adam. “For most of that time it was the only known place where the dye was made. Therefore, it is the only candidate that can provide the color for the scarlet and sapphire hues of the temple vestments and the curtains of the tabernacle.”

Tyrian purple was the only colorfast dye known to the ancients; fabric tinted in color became brighter through weathering and sunlight. Shades ranged from blue-green to purplish red depending on how the dye was prepared and fixed in textiles. The most vivid tone was the deep crimson of “clotting blood” with a black tinge, the Roman historian Pliny reported.

In Imperial Rome, sumptuary laws restricted the purchase and wearing of purple-dyed cloth to the emperor (purple silk could only be used at his direction on pain of death) and, to a lesser extent, senators and consuls, who were allowed to do so. wear wide purple bands on the edges of their toga.

The name and origin of Tyrian purple were inventions of the Romans. As early as 1900 BC, the Minoans in Crete were already preparing a purple dye from sea snails, creating an industry that subsequently caught on and flourished in the eastern Mediterranean. It is believed that the production center moved to the port of Tyre, although Dr. Schmitt said this cannot be confirmed by primary sources, either textual or archaeological. In the harbour, the snails were collected from shallow waters and left to rot in large vats before being distilled into the purified dye. (Phoinike, the area’s corresponding Greek name, is cognate with Phoinix, meaning “reddish purple,” leading some scholars to speculate that Phoenicia was “the land of purple.”)

Julius Pollux, a Greek scholar and grammarian of the second century AD, attributed the discovery of the color to the Tyrian Hercules, known to the Phoenicians as Melqart, patron god of Tyre. In his ‘Onomasticon’, a ten-volume thesaurus, Pollux tells that a nymph named Tyrus was walking along the beach when her dog bit a sea snail, causing the dog’s mouth to turn an intense purple. Tire was captivated by the brilliance and told Hercules, her lover, that she wanted a robe of the same color. Hercules obeyed and purple became a royal rage.

In the 17th century, the artist Peter Paul Rubens recreated the yarn in the oil painting ‘Hercules’ Dog Discovers Purple Dye’. Unfortunately, he got the shell wrong, depicting a spiraling nautilus snail instead of a spiny murex.

Tire is located 30 miles north of Tel Shiqmona, where the purple pigment was made from the dried and boiled intestines of three species of predatory sea snails: the spiny dye-murex (Bolinus brandaris), the striped dye-murex (Hexaplex trunculus) and the red-mouthed rock shell (Stramonita haemostoma). Each added a slightly different cast to the mix.

Tel Shiqmona had long puzzled archaeologists, who wondered why what appeared to be some kind of fortress was built far from agricultural lands on a rocky stretch of coastline that provided no safe harbor for ships.

From 1963 to 1977, the eight-hectare site was extensively excavated by Yosef Elgavish, an Israeli archaeologist. On behalf of the Haifa Museum, he has unearthed weaving and spinning equipment, large purple-colored ceramic vessels and evidence of human habitation from about 1500 BC. Although some archaeological layers harbored Phoenician pottery, Dr. Elgavish also found a four-room house with olive presses, which he identified as typical of the Israelites’ settlements in the 10th century BC.

“Dr. Elgavish suspected that Tel Shiqmona played a role in the production of the purple dye, but did not elaborate on the scale of production or who managed the dyeing process,” said Dr. Shalvi.

For the next four decades, the site was almost completely ignored for academic research. “The results and findings of the first expeditions have not been investigated or published,” said Dr. Shalvi. In 2016, he and Ayelet Gilboa, his doctoral advisor at the University of Haifa, started a project to rescue what they called the “cultural and intellectual assets” hidden in the forgotten finds.

Dr. Shalvi quickly realized that defining Tel Shiqmona as exclusively Israeli did not reflect the complexity of the region. He divided the site’s Iron Age chronology into four main episodes: a Phoenician village (1100 BC to 900 BC); a walled enclosure controlled by the Israelites (900 BCE to 740 BCE); a short-lived resettlement after the destruction of the kingdom and facility (740 BC to 700 BC), and an unfortified industrial complex under Assyrian rule that survived until the Babylonian takeover of the area (700 BC to 600 BC)

Three years ago, after discovering the thousands of finds from Dr. Elgavish carefully, Dr. Shalvi a revelation. “I discovered purple trails that no one else had noticed,” he said. “As soon as my eyes were opened to the purple color pattern, I noticed it everywhere.”

That afternoon he called Dr. Gilboa and told her about his revelation. “We discussed whether it might be a good idea for me to see a psychiatrist,” said Dr. Shalvi chuckles dryly. “Fortunately, chemical analysis showed that in all cases the purple was real.”

But when police raided the house, the player had to prove his innocence to avoid charges.

Police also released the tenant without charge after deciding she had been set up by the gang.

A source told The Sun: “This player owns the house in the North West as part of a buy-to-let empire.

“Another family member manages the property, but they couldn't believe it when police found a large-scale cannabis farm.

“The plants were removed and destroyed and the player had to produce paperwork to prove that while he owned the property, he had someone else living in it.”

Under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, the production and possession of cannabis with intent to supply is a criminal offense that can result in up to 14 years' imprisonment.

Landlords who fail to report suspected illegal activity may be held liable and subject to the same penalty.

Rental income can also be seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The number of cannabis farms operating in homes is growing.

In June, more than 1,000 people were raided, with plants worth £130 million seized and 1,000 suspects arrested.

Sham brokers were a front for a brutal drug lord who raked in £11 million a YEAR

In criminal trials, individual plants are often assigned a value of £840.

The Council of National Police Chiefs has said: “Organized networks involved in cannabis production are also directly linked to other serious crime, such as the importation of Class A drugs, slavery, violence and exploitation.”

Eliphalet Remington built his first gun barrel more than 200 years ago, painstakingly crafting it in his father's forge in upstate New York. At that point, the ammunition was running out, the British were the bad guys, and gun control involved the strength of the forearms.

About ten years later, Remington moved its operation to just adjacent to the newly opened Erie Canal. Remington Arms became a force in Ilion, NY, west of Albany, producing weapons used by police, robbers, soldiers, and the public. But as generations passed, global competition and the economy undermined Remington's bottom line and its presence in the village, whose Main Street stops at the factory gates.

That road reached a dead end in late November when the private company announced it would move its remaining Ilion operations to Georgia, amid suggestions from business leaders — and some Republican elected officials — that New York's efforts to curb gun violence had driven away a loved one . local institution.

The move meant the loss of jobs for more than 300 employees, many of whom had been making guns by hand for decades and whose personal and civic identities were deeply tied to Remington. Ten years ago, Remington had more than 1,000 employees at the Ilion plant.

'Two hundred and eight years of history. Gone, gone,” said John P. Stephens, the village mayor, adding, “Ilion is Remington. Remington is Ilion.

Mr. Stephens, whose father worked at Remington for 37 years, added: “The history and nostalgic loss we are going to suffer is almost, if not greater than, the financial loss.”

Ilion's assembly line, long famous for its shotguns and rifles, still produces hundreds of weapons a day despite slow workforce turnover. The shutdown is scheduled for March, and so has the New York Department of Labor retraining workers for other jobs.

In a statement on Facebook, company CEO Ken D'Arcy praised Ilion's staff but called Georgia “a state that supports and welcomes the firearms industry.”

“We are deeply saddened by the closure of this historic facility,” Mr. D'Arcy continued. “But maintaining and operating those very old buildings is prohibitively expensive. And the legislative environment in New York State remains a major concern for our industry.”

Shortly after the company informed employees of its plans, Rep. Elise Stefanik, whose district includes Ilion, blamed the state. “radical anti-Second Amendment policies,” including laws passed after the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and the 2022 Buffalo supermarket massacre.

'The oldest arms manufacturer in the country has fled the state' said Mrs. Stefanikwho has missed few opportunities to attack New York's ruling Democrats.

But Frank Brown, president of Local 717 of the United Mine Workers of America, which represents workers at the plant, said the closure had little to do with gun laws.

“We've been manufacturing firearms for over 200 years and have never had a problem selling firearms,” said Mr. Brown, 59, who goes by “Rusty” and has worked on the factory's furnaces for nearly 30 years. He added: “It's all about money and greed.”

Many in Ilion feel that this is simply the latest chapter in a long decline. “A lot of people have already absorbed that and gone to other places,” said Joseph D. Collea Jr., a former mayor. who wrote about Ilion's past.

But he also blamed the company for leaving the village. “It was a loyalty that went both ways, and it's long gone,” he said. “The business world is different now than it was in the early 1800s.”

Michael Helms, a firearms historian, said the company's presence in the market blossomed in the mid-19th century, when factories in New England and New York State became synonymous with gun manufacturing — the region was known as “Gun Valley,” similarly with Silicone. Valley at its peak.

“This was a very unique but peculiarly American phenomenon in the canon of global manufacturing,” Mr. Helms said. “And Remington was certainly part of that.”

But in recent years, those fortunes have gone wrong. Since 2013, Gun Valley mainstays such as Sturm, Ruger & Company, Smith & Wesson and OF Mossberg & Sons have all opened or expanded factories in Southern states, which typically offer a more gun-friendly political climate, non-union labor and tax incentives. saving companies millions in capital expenditures.

“They've migrated to Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, the Carolinas and Georgia,” said Michael Press, a consultant who helps companies find favorable tax deals in new locations and who has worked with Remington. “It's mainly about the cost of doing business.”

The Ilion factory was outdated (many of the structures are more than 100 years old) and required workers to move parts between buildings during production. Compared to this inefficient setup, a shiny, built-to-order space in Georgia had enormous appeal. Under the deal, Remington will pay just $10 for the land for its factory and enjoy up to $13 million in tax breaks, provided it meets construction and workforce benchmarks.

These sweeteners may have seemed particularly attractive given Remington's problems. Its finances became strained as it was transferred from one Wall Street owner to another, shrinking Ilion's workforce and often leaving the company in the red.

In 1993, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, a New York private equity firm, bought Remington for $300 million from DuPont, which had owned it since the Great Depression. In 2007, it was bought by another private equity firm, Cerberus Capital Management, which planned to use Remington to create a “roll-up” – a conglomerate – of gun and ammunition makers. Cerberus paid $118 million in cash and assumed $252 million of Remington's debt.

The new owners opened a factory in Huntsville, Alabama, lured by incentives such as free training for workers, free rental of factory space and a ten-year income tax cut.

But sales haven't kept pace: demand is driven in part by fears about gun control, and Donald J. Trump's presidential victory was, paradoxically, bad for business. Plagued by debt, Remington filed for bankruptcy protection in 2018 and again in 2020. When the company emerged from the restructuring, it still had a new owner: the investment company Roundhill Group.

And the money problems were not over yet. In 2022, Remington paid $73 million to settle a lawsuit over the Sandy Hook massacre, in which twenty first-graders and six adults were killed by a disturbed young man using an AR-15-style rifle manufactured by the company.

Such financial realities — which are long-term and unrelated to New York's recent gun control legislation — have undermined some of the political arguments surrounding Remington's withdrawal of the stake.

Betsy Briggs, co-chair of the Herkimer County Democratic Party, whose members are in the minority in this conservative county, noted that the plant “has struggled over the past 20 years.”

“There is a grieving process,” Ms Briggs said. “So many people grew up with their fathers or their uncles or their grandfathers, or all of the above, having a really good job” at Remington.

“Many houses in this area were built with Remington Arms salaries,” she said.

Located just off the New York State Thruway and on the banks of the Mohawk River, downtown Ilion is still dominated by Remington's low-slung brick buildings. A small museum that was part of the complex has closed, leaving inaccessible the remains of an industrial past that also produced typewriters, cutlery and other items.

Robert Smullen, a Republican lawmaker representing Ilion, said the departures were part of a larger trend, noting that other industrial operations in the state, including tanneries, had closed over the years, in part because they violated federal environmental regulations.

Asked whether he thought the state's gun laws had contributed to the plant's decline, Mr. Smullen was circumspect, saying they “didn't encourage people to do this kind of business, this kind of work, in New York State .”

But he added that the people of Ilion were resilient. “I think this will be like the phoenix rising from the ashes,” he said.

Still, residents like John McGraw say they worry about the impact on other businesses that once served thousands of workers, and the possibility that the hulking factory could remain empty.

“We have a huge hole in the middle of town and no one to fill it,” said Mr. McGraw, a former reporter who covered Remington for two local newspapers. “It's terrible.”

For his part, Mr. Brown, the union leader whose two daughters and his wife work at the factory, is angry, sad and uncertain about what will happen next. Until then, however, he and his fellow Remington long-timers will continue to clock in.

“There are those among us who will work,” he said, “until the end.”

a slogan on the company's website made it clear that the end was near.

“Revolutionizing a sector. Building a nation,” it says. “Remington Country is, was and always will be bigger than any place.”

The eight identified victims are: Jain (62), Ram Surat Singh (44), Vishal Gaund (19), Anil Thakur (46), Pankaj Kumar (29), Shubham (19), Mira (44) and Brijkishore (19) .

The factory was run illegally?

In a statement, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) said the building in which the fire broke out was being used illegally for mixing chemical paints. The municipality says it regrets the tragic incident.

A senior police officer said an investigation is underway to determine whether the paint factory was being operated illegally and what led to the fire incident in which the owner of the establishment, Ashok Kumar Jain, was killed in the incident along with ten of his staff. staff.

The factory – Om Suns Paint – has been operating since 2017, he said.

The victims were locked inside and could not escape

“It has come to light that the owner locked the factory from inside while work was in progress,” the officer added that it is suspected that the factory gate was locked from outside, preventing workers from escaping from the building after it was enveloped. in flames.

Forensic experts have collected samples from the scene, the officer said, adding: “Prima facie, it is suspected that the fire broke out due to a short circuit and spread to an area where chemicals were kept, triggering several explosions has lead.”

Fire preceded by explosion

The incident took place at Dayal market in Alipur. The factory housed chemical factories. The fire was preceded by an explosion and quickly spread to nearby buildings, including a drug rehabilitation center and eight stores.

Locals claim that the fire brigade arrived too late, causing the fire to spread to other buildings.

A Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said a call about the fire was received at 5.25 pm and the fire brigade rushed to the spot, but there was a delay due to a massive traffic jam near GT Karnal Road.

Delhi Police has barricaded a number of roads leading to Alipur due to farmer unrest.

Delay in fire brigade response?

Sources claimed that the delay was due to unavailability of firefighters at a nearby fire station as they were sent to another place, news agency PTI reported.

Police said while the factory owner was killed in the incident, his son, Akhil Jain of Sonipat in Haryana, is being questioned.

A case has been registered against the factory owner's son under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 308 (attempt to culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The DFS official said 22 fire tenders had been pressed into service to douse the flames.
