Walkers confirm ‘factory defect’ after shoppers spot HUGE bag blunder
WALKERS has apologized to customers after admitting a “factory defect” on bags of salt and vinegar chips.
A customer was left shocked when he made a bizarre mistake when he grabbed a packet of crisps.

The snack maker took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to apologize to a fan who shared an unusual pack of Walkers.
User Josh Adamson Posted a photo of his order from Seriously Salt and Vinegar.
But the popular snack package was discoloured.
The retro bag is known among Walkers fans for its characteristic green color.
But in the photo the color seems faded and looks completely faded and blue.
The shocked customer said ironically: “Quality department is working hard, I see.”
In response, the chip manufacturer apologized and admitted that the discoloration was part of a factory printing error.
Despite the error, they reassured the customer and claimed the chips were safe to eat.
A spokesperson said: “Hi Josh, this is a printing error that has occurred with our film suppliers, but rest assured you can enjoy your crisps safely!”
It comes after Walkers left fans devastated again after announcing it had discontinued another “phenomenal” crunchy flavour.
This crisp brand has confirmed that one of its Oven Baked crisp ranges has been axed for good.
Shoppers will no longer be able to get their hands on the taste of beetroot and sweet chilli jam made with real vegetables.
The flavor only appeared on the scene in 2019, just over five years later consumers will have to say goodbye to the iconic sweet chips.
The news was revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter, when a fan of the quirky flavor approached Walkers to ask why they couldn’t find the chips in stores.

We’ve put together a list of all the popular crunchy flavors that Walker has dropped in recent months.
- Worcester sauce – There was an uproar on social media last year after Walkers confirmed it had stopped making the popular Worcester sauce flavour.
- Max Heavy Flamin Hot – This flavor was launched in 2021 to attract a younger audience. Fans of the flavor were left devastated in November 2023 when the chips were pulled from shelves for good.
- Beef and Onion – Snack fans were shocked when the beef and onion flavor was nowhere to be seen in supermarkets. The beloved flavor was discontinued in 2022, but fans only found out about it last year.
- Sizzling steakwotsits – The retro flavor was previously sold as BBQ beef, but was pulled from shelves in the early 2000s. It briefly returned to stores in January 2020 due to high demand, but was gone for good soon after.
- Beijing Spare Rib oriental crackers – Walkers confirmed in November last year that it has discontinued another fresh flavor inspired by flavors from around the world.
- Salt and Vinegar Quavers – This flavor was first introduced in 1993 and returned to the line-up in 2021, along with shrimp cocktail Quavers, following demand from chip lovers. But unfortunately the crispiness has disappeared again.
- Sensational royal lamb and mint – The popular flavor was only available for a specific occasion: the King’s Coronation.
- Marmite – This controversial flavor has been on shelves for more than 20 years, but was discontinued at the end of 2023. But it looks like Marmite is taking over as they recently announced they would be producing their own brand of crisps.
- Tear ‘n’ Share chips – Walkers confirmed it had discontinued its Tear ‘n’ Share chips in January. The chips are thicker cut chips that come in a separate bag that turns into an easy to share bowl. Walkers confirmed that these have been out of stock for several years.
- Smiths Cheese moments -Referred to by fans as “the most underrated chips ever”, this snack was generally sold in pubs. It has even been called the “king of all chips”, but was unfortunately discontinued forever.
- Beetroot and sweet chili jam -Fans learned this month that Walkers has stopped making the beetroot and sweet chilli jam in its oven-baked range. The flavor was introduced in 2019 and is made with real vegetables.
