  • Anonymous winner£195,707,000

A British ticket holder won the record EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million on July 19, 2022 – the biggest National Lottery win of all time.

The holder, who remains anonymous to this day, made the fortune with just one lucky ticket.

  • Joe and Jess Thwaite£184,262,899.10

Britain’s previous EuroMillions record holders were Joe and Jess Thwaite.

The couple won a record-breaking jackpot of £184 million in May 2022 and shared hopes of a Hawaiian holiday and a new horse stall for their children’s ponies.

Joe purchased his winning ticket online on May 10, 2022 and received an email with good news the next morning.

When he heard of the huge victory, he was in disbelief and initially kept it to himself because he did not want to disturb his wife, who was sleeping.

Joe, a communications sales engineer, and Jess, who runs a hair salon with her sister, have been married for 11 years and have two children.

  • Colin and Chris Weir, £161,653,000

Colin and Christine Weir won the colossal prize money in 2011 and were Europe’s second biggest winners until someone in Italy won a jackpot worth £193 million in 2019.

They were throwing in the money at an astonishing rate of £100,000 a week before disaster struck.

But by the time of Colin’s death in December 2019, his share of the prize money had shrunk by around £40 million.

He spent the millions living a life of luxury, chasing sports cars, real estate and the football club he supported.

Colin and Christine divorced shortly before his death after 38 years of marriage.

He left money for their children Carly and Jamie.

  • Adrian and Gillian Brayford £148,600,000

Adrian and Gillian won €190 million in a EuroMillions draw in August 2012, which amounted to just over £148 million.

But Adrian split from Gillian the following year due to the stress of winning.

The couple bought a Grade II listed estate in Cambridgeshire, complete with cinema and billiards room, but it was sold in 2021.

After his divorce in 2013, he failed to woo ex-sausage factory worker Marta Jarosz, but fell for stable girl Sam Burbidge.

She left him in 2017, taking with her 30 prize horses that Adrian bought.

But things may have worked out for Adrian in the end, as the former postman was seen laughing with paramedic Tracey Biles last year.

  • Frances and Patrick Connolly – £114,969,775

Former social worker and teacher Frances set up two charitable foundations after she and her husband hit the jackpot.

They raked in almost £115 million on New Year’s Day 2019.

She estimates she has already given away £60 million to charities, as well as to friends and family.

  • Richard and Debbie Nuttall£61,000,000

The couple from Colne, Lancashire, took home £61 million on January 30, 2024.

They were both 54 and enjoying a holiday in Fuerteventura to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.

But then they discovered the big EuroMillions win.

Richard revealed that they initially thought they had won £2.60, but then received another email asking the pair to check their account.

Other eye-catching anonymous winners:

Another anonymous winner took home a prize of £123,458,008 in June’s Superdraw rollover.

After nine rollovers, one ticket holder won the £122,550,350 jackpot last April.

The successful participant has chosen to remain anonymous.

Another anonymous winner found his fortune during the Superdraw jackpot rollover in April 2018, securing £121,328,187.

A POPULAR home security technology company, Wyze, has suffered a camera breach that exposed users' images to thousands of strangers.

A few days ago, Wyze sent an email to customers revealing that a recent outage “affecting 14 users” actually affected approximately 13,000 people.

That is 930 times more people than initially thought on Friday (February 16).

“The outage came from our partner AWS (Amazon Web Services) and shut down Wyze devices for several hours early Friday morning,” said the email, which was also posted on the website. helpforum.

“If you tried to watch live cameras or events in those days, you probably couldn't.

“We are deeply sorry for the frustration and confusion this has caused.”

The breach occurred when Wyze attempted to bring its devices back online after an outage, which the company attributed to AWS.

“This customer library experienced unprecedented load conditions caused by devices coming back online all at once,” the company added.

“As a result of increased demand, it mixed up the assignment of device IDs and user IDs and associated certain data with incorrect accounts.”

Of all the user images shared among users, Wyze admits that 1,504 people tapped to enlarge the thumbnail and watched the video.

Some even took screenshots of the images they saw on other people's properties, and other people's.

All affected users have been notified of the security breach.

But users are not happy with the way Wyze is trying to shift the blame and want to delete their accounts.

“I really don't like it when a company tries to blame a 'third party' for a mistake,” says one Redditor commented.

“Dear Wyze, Whether the error comes from AWS or another third party, from a consumer perspective YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING YOUR SELLERS.”

Another Reddit user, who was affected by the breach wrote: “I am so disgusted and angry.

“I already deleted my account but I feel so violated.”

Wyze has used the incident as an opportunity to strengthen its security controls.

“To ensure this doesn't happen again, we've added a new layer of authentication before connecting users to event videos,” the company explained in its apology email.

“We have also modified our system to bypass caching for user-device relationship checks until we identify new client libraries that have been thoroughly tested against extreme events like we experienced on Friday.”

The trade-off between security and privacy

Analysis by Millie Turner, Technology and Science Reporter at The Sun.

With today's WiFi and app-supported gadgets, home security comes at the expense of privacy.

Companies like Wyze and Amazon-owned Ring talk about privacy, but often don't.

A similar 'disturbing' issue was also discovered on Wyze in September last year, when a user claimed to have seen a couple stark naked in their home.

While Ring has managed to stave off the outcry over image sharing with police (which is now limited), while Amazon swallowed tens of millions in privacy fines for the company's activities.

Such behavior has led privacy campaigners to increasingly scrutinize easy-to-use security gadgets with difficult-to-understand terms and conditions.

“It comes down to this issue that we talk about a lot in privacy: that people want to feel safe and that feeling is often at odds with privacy,” said Jen Caltrider, founder and lead researcher of Mozilla's Privacy Not Included guide. The sun.

“The downside is that we now have cameras everywhere recording all the time and that gets in the way of our privacy.”

But there are ways to get the best of both worlds, if you're willing to trade cloud storage for local storage.

Although Caltrider is a staunch critic of security technology, she has cameras in and around her home that she purchased “specifically because they have local storage.”

“That's a good thing for consumers to look for: local storage. Because once something leaves your house, you no longer have control over it,” she explains.

Consumers should also look for security companies that have end-to-end encryption available, as this means no one can see your footage.

Finally, be wise and respectful about where you place your cameras because the last thing you want is to be caught with your pants down or risk a £100,000 fine.

Players can open EA FC 24 Ultimate Team Packs and within them they will find a random assortment of cards that they can add to their teams.

The higher the rating of the card, the better the player, with the best players such as Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe receiving ratings in the high 90s.

These cards can be sold for millions of coins on the in-game transfer market, making them unavailable to most players.

However, the hope for many is that they can win this by simply opening UT packs, but the chances of this happening are very slim.

This is why fans rushed to grab the chance to play one of the latest Squad Building Challenges, which offered a vastly increased chance of nabbing the GOAT.

The latest challenge would reward players with a Team of the Year promotional card with a minimum rating of 86+.

Although the higher rated cards are likely rarer than the lower rated cards, a large number of players reported drawing the Lionel Messi card with a 97+ rating.

EA Sports quickly noticed the mistake and disabled the Squad Building Challenge, angering players.

This move not only angered the players who were late to the challenge and wanted a good chance to draw the rare Messi card.

It also angered players who had worked hard to earn enough coins to purchase the expensive card.

EA Sports wrote: “We have identified an issue with the 86+ TOTY Leagues SBC, as a result we have disabled the SBC.”

Players are still hoping that EA Sports will compensate players for the mistake, but it is too late to recall the rare Messis.

If you want to read more about gaming, take a look at the game that has suddenly been removed from the stores.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a message on X that services had been delayed on the Lok Kalyan Marg-Udyog Bhawan section of the Yellow Line.

New Delhi: Services on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro are being regulated due to a signal problem on a part of the corridor, officials said on Thursday. Earlier in the day, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a message on X that services had been delayed on the Lok Kalyan Marg-Udyog Bhawan section of the Yellow Line.

The Yellow Line connects Samyapur Badli in Delhi and Millennium City Center Gurugram in Haryana.
Services on the Yellow Line have been “regulated today due to rail circuit loss issue between Lok Kalyan Marg and Udyog Bhawan stations,” a senior official said.

“Because of this problem, the trains on this small route run at limited speed, causing congestion. Normal train services are available on the remaining parts of the Yellow Line,” he said.

The official said the necessary repair of the track circuit will be carried out “during the night hours after the closure of revenue offices” to avoid inconvenience to the public during the day.

Losing your data can be a frustrating experience, with valuable memories captured in photos and important work among the files at risk.

Fortunately, backing up your information can save you the trauma of losing valuable documents.

There are two main methods to copy data from an Android smartphone: to another device such as a PC or by backing it up to online cloud storage.

Most handsets have an automatic backup feature, although this can eat up your data allowance if you’re not connected to a Wi-Fi network, so many people choose to turn this off.

The process of manually backing up varies slightly by smartphone model, but there are major similarities between most Android devices.

To a PC

To recover data from your smartphone via USB, by connecting it to a PC or peripheral device, make sure that USB data transfer is activated in the operating system settings.

Android lets you do this via an automatic pop-up option that appears when you connect your handset’s USB cable to your PC or other device.

Select ‘data transfer’ from the list of options, and your handset should become visible on your computer.

Once your Android phone is connected to your PC, you should be able to see it as a device in the My Computer section.

This allows you to view your phone’s folder structure, including photos, videos and even WhatsApp chats, which you can safely copy to your hard drive.

To a Mac

On a Mac, the process is a little more complicated, as you need to download and install an official Google program called Android File Transfer.

Once that’s installed, simply connect your phone to your Mac computer, turn on your phone’s screen, unlock the device, and then look for the same USB status notification as described above.

Tap the notification and select ‘Transfer Files’.

The Android File Transfer program should then open automatically on your Mac.

You can then browse your phone’s storage and transfer files the same way you would on a PC.

To online cloud storage

You can also manually upload files to cloud storage services, such as Google Drive or Dropbox.

Normally this means installing the relevant app, or using the pre-installed version if it came with your handset.

The app gives you the option to select which files you want to upload.

This can involve large amounts of data depending on the file types being backed up. So it’s usually best to do this over a Wi-Fi connection.
