David Gallagher, star of ’90s soap opera 7th Heaven, unveiled a striking new look this weekend.

The former actor, who played Simon Camden in the hit show, looked unrecognizable in photos shared by his co-star Beverly Mitchell on Instagram.

Where he once had a luscious blonde undercut and a boyish face, the 39-year-old now sports a shaved head and a long beard.

Gallagher, who was cast in 7th Heaven at the age of 11, reunited with his co-stars Mitchell, Catherine Hicks, Barry Watson and Mackenzie Rosman this weekend at 90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut.

The former child star’s career also included appearances in Look Who’s Talking Now with John Travolta and Kirstie Alley, and Phenomenon, also with Travolta.

This week he said The sun that he is no longer an actor and is focused on being a stay-at-home dad to his six-year-old daughter.

In Mitchell’s Instagram post shared Saturday, she shared a carousel of photos from the convention reunion with her castmates.

In the caption, Mitchell, who played Lucy Camden in 7th Heaven, wrote: “Extremely grateful for these crazy people I call family!

“To say this was necessary is an understatement, my heart is full and I am so blessed to be able to love and laugh with them! Thank you That’s 4 Entertainment for bringing us together for #90scon.”

Fans sounded excited in Beverly’s comments, with one writing: “Simon looks very different, everyone else looks the same haha.”

“It took me three replays to figure out who the bald guy was,” another commenter joked.

‘My favorite TV family! I miss David’s hair,” wrote another.

Another Instagrammer wrote: ‘7th Heaven was the best show ever. Mrs. David’s blond hair. Hope next reunion Jessica [Biel] can come, and the twins.’

Biel, who played Mary Camden, was a notable absentee, but Mitchell claimed the cast FaceTimed her.

Another missing cast member was Stephen Collins, who played Camden patriarch Eric.

Collins admitted in 2014 to “inappropriate sexual conduct with three female minors” in 1973, 1982 and 1994.

7th Heaven, which ran for ten seasons from 1996 to 2007, followed a Protestant pastor living in California with his wife and seven children.

The final episode aired on May 13, 2007.

DUNE: PART TWO (12A, 166 min.)

Judgement:

Verdict: A sand spectacle

Dune burst onto Leicester Square a few weeks ago at its world premiere. I’ve been to many big openings there over the years, but never one so flamboyant, with as much fanfare, that caused so much frenzy.

Probably not in the sixty years since the heyday of The Beatles has that patch of central London reverberated with the kind of vociferous adoration directed (this time) at the star of the Dune films, 28-year-old Timothee Chalamet. And there were at least four Beatles to share the spotlight. The young American star gets ‘Chalamania’, as it is called, all to himself.

The bigger problem, though, was this: Would Denis Villeneuve’s epic sequel justify the razzamatazz, not to mention the investment of an entire evening? Dune: Part Two lasts almost three hours. It’s even longer than the first movie, which seemed like forever.

Fortunately. The 2021 film tackled many of the plot complexities that fueled years of belief that Frank Herbert’s mighty 1965 sci-fi novel was “unfilmable” (claims not exactly punctured by David Lynch’s 1984 stinker). It was wonderful, but exhausting, laboriously introducing us to the interplanetary empire Herbert imagined, and the various dynasties that struggled for power or simply for survival.

The sequel has a mercifully simpler story. On the barren planet Arrakis, where most of his own kin have been wiped out, Paul Atreides (Chalamet) prepares to lead the beleaguered, disenfranchised Fremen tribe against him and their mortal enemies, the formidably evil House Harkonnen.

Ruled by the grotesque Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgard in a rickety fat suit), to whom they swear allegiance during hair-raising Nuremberg-style rallies, the Harkonnen owe their political and military supremacy to their control over “spices” – the most valuable commodity in this world. universe, which Dune enthusiasts widely assume is a metaphor for oil.

Paul’s goal is to disrupt spice production, but unlike our own Just Stop Oil brigade, he has to do more than lie on the highway. Anyway, Arrakis has no highways. It is a vast desert, in which he must prove himself to the Fremen by undergoing various challenges, such as sand surfing behind a worm about the size of a superyacht.

Paul has a useful ally in the Fremen chief, Stilgar (Javier Bardem), not to mention a Fremen lover, the smoldering and beautiful Chani (Zendaya).

But there are others who distrust him. Is he a false prophet or their true ‘mahdi’, their messiah? His modesty completes it. “The Mahdi is too modest to say he is the Mahdi,” someone says approvingly, which reminded me strongly of the scene in The Life Of Brian, in which Brian’s attempts to convince his followers that he is a completely ordinary man counterproductive, because only the true messiah would deny his divinity.

I hope Villeneuve also had Monty Python in mind, because other than that there isn’t much obvious humor or fun in this film.

But it’s supremely stylish, with a piercing Hans Zimmer score and beautiful work from cinematographer Greig Fraser.

Mostly, the action unfolds in subtle shades of brown and beige, as if the set designers were told to confine themselves to the edges of the Farrow & Ball color chart. This makes Paul’s eyes appear even bluer, a bit like Peter O’Toole’s in Lawrence of Arabia. As Noel Coward said at that premiere, if it had been more beautiful it could have been called Florence of Arabia. The same goes for Chalamet. Even more delicious and they should have called it June.

But Paul is first and foremost a fierce warrior, who wages a truly harrowing duel with the rising champion of the Harkonnen (a shaven-headed Austin Butler), and whose muscular beauty destroys Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh), the Emperor’s scheming daughter ( Christopher Walken).

Butler, Pugh and Walken are all new additions to the cast, along with Lea Seydoux and, in a cameo, Anya Taylor-Joy. Rebecca Ferguson and Charlotte Rampling also return from the first film. There are stars everywhere you look, in a film that is exuberant in every way and demands to be seen on a big screen.

It’s really spectacular. But take sandwiches.

Red Island (12A, 117 minutes)

Verdict: Believe in Madagascar

This captivatingly quirky (and visually stunning) French-language drama is set on a French air base in Madagascar in the early 1970s, where the former colonizers continue to exert their control over the now independent countries.

Writer-director Robin Campillo immerses us in the daily lives of one family: the moody father of an aviator, his volatile wife, their marital problems and those of their friends.

But the main focus is on their impossibly adorable eight-year-old son Thomas (Charlie Vauselle), whose superhero fantasies are brought to life in strangely seductive little interludes as he seeks refuge in the strange world of adults.

Red Island is now in cinemas, as well as on Curzon Home Cinema.

And Jason Donavon, 55, proved he was still a real hunk as he enjoyed a day at Bondi Beach on Monday.

Three decades after his appearance on the Australian soap, the actor continued to turn heads when he stripped down to a tiny pair of swimming trunks.

He showed off his toned frame in blue briefs as he enjoyed a dip in the ocean and also wore chipped black nail polish.

The Too Many Broken Hearts singer lives in West London and South Oxfordshire with his wife Angela and three children, but often returns to his native Australia.

Last year, Jason detailed his meticulous self-care routine, which includes regular massages, healthy eating, and even pedicures.

He explained how he stays fit and in control and likes to pamper himself with the occasional beauty or wellness treatment.

As for diet, he enjoys a drink of hot lemon to start the day before eating pasta or sushi for lunch and then a small evening meal consisting of tacos with guacamole.

He told The times: ‘I get up at 7 am and always start my day with warm water and lemon. In the morning I only eat fruits so that I don’t feel overweight as I am a big fitness person and like to go to the gym early.

‘I like to get a massage twice a week and enjoy a foot massage and having my nails done.

‘I have sushi or pasta for lunch. I’m a better person when I don’t drink alcohol. I sleep better, am happier, less anxious and more in control.

‘I don’t eat a big meal until I get home and then I like guacamole with salsa and taco chips or some prosciutto with melon and chicken liver pate.’

Jason is best known for playing Scott Robinson in Neighbors from 1986 to 1989, which he left to launch a career as a pop singer in 1988.

His character’s romance with co-star Kylie Minogue’s character Charlene Robinson was a highlight of the show, with Scott and Charlene’s wedding on July 1, 1987, watched by two million Australians.

Their Union was an even bigger draw when it aired in Britain a year later, attracting 19.6 million viewers, making it the third most-watched British show of 1988.

But while Jason is grateful that Neighbors helped him rise to fame, he insists he also owes some gratitude from the producers as he put in a lot of work during his time on the soap.

He told the Mirror this month: ‘It has given me a fantastic life. I will be in debt forever until then. But I put a lot of work into it. I owe it a little too.”

Kylie and Jason, who were dating in real life at the time, were household names in both countries, and went on to pursue music careers in the UK.

Their on-screen relationship began after Scott mistook Charlene for an intruder at his neighbor Madge Ramsay’s home, before eventually discovering she was Madge’s daughter.

After they married, the couple left Erinsborough and moved to Brisbane.

Kylie quit Neighbors in June 1988, after becoming the first person to win four Logie Awards in one year and the youngest ever recipient of a Gold Logie.

Jamie Lee Curtis, the daughter of Psycho actress Janet Leigh and Some Like It Hot dreamboat Tony Curtis, then waded into the debate. Calling herself the “OG Nepo Baby,” she complained, “The current conversation about nepo babies is only meant to belittle, denigrate, and hurt.”

Princess Margaret’s daughter Sarah Chatto and her hunky son Arthur joined the royal family at the Princess of Wales’ Together at Chrsitmas carol concert on Friday. 

Lady Sarah, 59, and Arthur, 24, were among the extended members of the Firm to support Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey.

Looking regal in a white coat, Sarah, who was often described as the late queen’s ‘favourite niece’ wrapped up with a scarf as she walked alongside her husband Daniel.

Meanwhile, Arthur, a personal trainer who has won a legion of fans thanks to his shirtless Instagram snaps, looked smart in a red scarf a suit.

The mother-of-two is the only daughter of the late Princess Margaret and her former husband, Antony Armstrong-Jones, who passed away in 2017. 

The late Queen was described as a ‘surrogate mother’ to Margaret’s children and was particularly close to Lady Sarah, who is believed to have reminded her of her late sister.

Both her parents passed on their artistic eye to their children as Sarah, now a painter, and her brother David were taken around galleries in their youth.

Kate hosted her Together At Christmas event at Westminster Abbey and welcomed her family, members of the monarchy and inspiring individuals in celebration of those supporting children and families.

The Prince of Wales arrived with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, after Kate travelled ahead to thank celebrities for agreeing to perform, including Oscar winner Jim Broadbent and singers Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert.

As they walked into the Abbey’s forecourt the royal children paused for a moment to post Christmas cards, in a special postbox, containing messages for children who might be struggling this Christmas, something open to all youngsters attending.

The young royals – George, 10, Charlotte, eight, and five-year-old Louis – were all smartly dressed while their mother wore a Chris Kerr coat.

Before the concert started Kate met celebrities in the Abbey’s stunning 16th century Lady Chapel, and chatting to Broadbent expressed her appreciation at him agreeing to read an extract from Letters From Father Christmas by Lord Of The Rings author JRR Tolkien.

 

She said: ‘Thank you for your time because I know the lead up to Christmas can be busy for people.’

Kate appeared to joke with multi-instrumentalist Collier, who has posted music tutorial videos on YouTube, about her daughter learning the piano and he quipped ‘many a plink and a plonk’.

She also walked around the Abbey before the event began, speaking to young people who have done inspiring activities.

Once inside, Kate stole the show as she led the royal family  and high-fived and spoke with children who have gone ‘above and beyond’ for charity.

Kate crouched down to chat to seven-year-old Oscar Burrow, from Lancaster, who raised more than £40,000 for Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley, Lancashire, by climbing 12 mountains at the age of six.

His mother Kimberley Burrow said afterwards: ‘She said she’d heard about what he’s done and he’s doing a fantastic job, and hopes what he’s doing will inspire other children to do amazing things.’

The princess was joined at her annual Christmas carol service by Prince William and children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. 

The Royal children were seen stepping in to the event at Westminster Abbey – while five-year-old Prince Louis once again drew attention by blowing out his sister’s candle and chatting to a statue outside.

Kate walked around the Abbey before the concert started speaking to young people who have done inspiring activities.

She knelt down and spent time speaking with seven-year-old Oscar.

The princess placed her hand on a chair and the other in her lap as she discussed his impressive fundraising efforts, watched on by his smiling mother. 

She chatted to four scouts from the 3rd Upton Scout Group in Slough her family visited during the coronation celebration weekend, part of The Big Help Out event, helping to renovate their hut.

The princess told them: ‘It was really inspiring. Seriously, good job’. She then high-fived each scout in turn.

Kate, who was dressed all in white for the occasion, was pictured bending down to light Prince Louis’ candle with her own.

At one point she was seen placing a reassuring hand on his back as he appeared to clutch at her coat amidst the gravity of the evening. 

As she arrived at the concert, she was seen holding Princess Charlotte’s hand. 

Among the group of celebrities waiting to greet the family in the Abbey’s Lady Chapel were singers Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert, musician Jacob Collier and actor Jim Broadbent.

Catherine’s sister Pippa and husband James Matthews were also photographed arriving this afternoon, as were Lady Sarah Chatto and her husband Daniel Chatto.

The Princess herself unveiled a very special festive gift to guests at the concert – a rendition of Last Christmas played on John Lennon’s piano.

The service began with the popular carol, Once In Royal David’s City, and the congregation also heard a duet by Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert who performed The Christmas Song, made famous by Nat King Cole.

William read the passage from the Gospel according to Luke that describes how Joseph and Mary travelled to Bethlehem to be registered and the birth of Jesus.

The Abbey echoed with the voices of its choir and the congregation singing a selection of carols including Silent Night, Holy Night and Joy To The World, as well as Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.

The historic building featured Christmas trees from Windsor Great Park donated by the King, which will be given to local communities after the service.

The event will be broadcast as part of Royal Carols: Together At Christmas, a special programme airing at 7.45pm on ITV1 and ITV X on Christmas Eve, featuring additional material including an introduction by Kate and films emphasising the importance of early childhood.

The broadcast will include contributions from Rio and Kate Ferdinand, Ugo Monye, Andrea and Virginia Bocelli and Dame Sheila Hancock.

Hugh Jackman has taken a swipe at his Deadpool co-star Ryan Reynolds after a recent grumpy-looking selfie of the actor caused concern among fans.

Jackman, 55, playfully poked fun at Reynolds, 47, when the American actor posted an angry message about leaked photos from their shared project, Deadpool 3.

Hugh was furious because the images contained storyline spoilers.

He expressed his frustration on an Instagram Story, writing, “It’s important for us to shoot the new Deadpool movie in real, natural settings, using practical effects, rather than shooting the movie indoors and digitally. ‘

Hugh took a screenshot of the story and then edited it, cutting out “Deadpool” and writing “what he said, but it’s a new WOLVERINE movie.”

He also added a cartoon version of his Wolverine character in the bottom corner.

It comes as fans became concerned about Hugh last week after a ‘sad’ photo of the actor emerged in the wake of his split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

Last week he shared a series of close-up photos of his much more serious face on his Instagram account.

In the photos, Hugh looked pensive and dejected as he walked the streets of New York City.

“Completely too close,” he captioned his post, adding the hashtag “moods.”

Hugh was inundated with messages suggesting the actor ‘looked sad’ and sent words of encouragement to the newly single star.

‘We’ve all been there. Totally get it. I hope your day gets better,” said one fan.

“You look a bit serious, Hugh,” said another.

“Your sunglasses make you look a little grumpy,” one fan commented, while another pointed out that “the newly single actor’s brow is still furrowed.”

“Why so serious my love,” one concerned fan asked, and another noted that the photo looked more like a “mugshot” than a selfie.

“Not a good day?” someone else asked.

“Where is that beautiful smile we all know and love?” added one concerned female fan, while yet another described his facial expression as “stern.”

But on Tuesday, the actor posted a decidedly happier image of himself on social media.

“Good morning London,” the X-Men star captioned a smiling selfie.

And fans appreciated the difference, with one commenting: ‘Now you’re starting to smile.’

“Love the smile Hugh… have a nice trip,” another added.

Hugh is said to have put all his efforts into getting physically ‘ripped’ to reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool movie – and is considering his next Broadway role.

“Hugh is completely focused on Deadpool 3 and getting Wolverine into shape,” a source revealed exclusively to DailyMail.com last month.

‘That means that he no longer hangs out with his ex and that he can no longer date. He is excited to be back at work and is excited to focus all his attention on that.”
