Love Island’s Arabella Chi enjoyed a girls’ night out with Joanna Chimonides and Georgia Harrison at Sexy Fish in Manchester on Saturday.

The reality star showed off her sensational figure in a racy white lace long-sleeved corset-style mini dress as she celebrated her 33rd birthday.

The blonde stunner boosted her figure in a pair of sky-high heels and toted her belongings in a stylish gold handbag.

Arabella looked in good spirits as she embraced single life by linking arms with her ITV2 pals while partying in the city.

Meanwhile, Georgia turned heads in a white satin double-breasted blazer dress, which she paired with sexy sheer stockings and pointy heels.

Joanna looked effortlessly cool for the evening as she showed off her toned midriff in a cropped white T-shirt and khaki cargo skirt.

She wore a pair of black knee-high boots and carried her belongings in a matching handbag.

The Love Island All Stars trio were all smiles as they hopped into a taxi to head home with a fourth friend for the evening.

It is the first time that Arabella has been seen in public since her split with Adam Maxted, who she met on the reality show in February.

The couple split just five weeks after leaving the Love Island All Stars villa, having failed to meet even once.

Irish professional wrestler Adam, 31, has clearly embraced the single life as he was spotted enjoying a wild night out surrounded by playful girls in Manchester on Friday.

The TV personality beamed from cheek to cheek as several girls tried to impress him with their unique party tricks.

One enthusiastic partygoer even braved a handstand in a pair of white strappy heels, a blue mini dress and a brown leather jacket.

Meanwhile, Georgia turned heads in a white satin double-breasted blazer dress, which she paired with sexy sheer stockings and pointy heels.

As the All Star hunk showed off his bulging biceps in a form-fitting black T-shirt, he seemed eager to meet and greet his newest fans as he held a girl in the air.

At the time of the shock news, a source said The sun: ‘They really tried to make it work, but every time they made an appointment, work got in the way. They remain friends.’

The revelation of their split came after fans accused the pair of faking their romance.

The couple had not appeared on each other’s social media since the show, despite both being very active on different platforms.

However, the pair consistently liked and commented on each other’s posts, leaving fans confused as to where they stood.

While Arabella often shares glamorous snaps, Adam keeps his fans updated on his grueling gym session.

After Adam wrote, “Making moves, congratulations” under Arabella’s photo, an enthusiastic fan asked, “Didn’t you meet last night?” I was checking for updates last night’.

This comment opened the floodgates and more followers asked, “So are they still dating?”, “Where’s Adam?”, “Where’s your boyfriend?”

All comments went unacknowledged and fans were forced to draw their own conclusions until the split was finally confirmed.

MailOnline has contacted Arabella and Adam’s representatives for comment.

Love Island’s Ella Thomas risked an awkward encounter with her ex-boyfriend Tyrique Hyde at the Bacardi Rum x Move Good BRITs afterparty at The Brewery in London on Saturday.

The Scottish model, 23, showed off her stunning figure in a black satin and lace mini dress as she posed with pal Yvonne Victoria.

Meanwhile, footballer Tyrique, 24, cut a stylish figure in khaki cargo trousers, a white T-shirt and trainers.

They were joined by fellow Love Island stars Chloe Burrows, Danica Taylor and Samira Mighty, as well as host Maya Jama.

AJ Odudu, Giggs, Aitch and Ella Eyre were also at the party, hosted by Capital Xtra DJ Manny Norte.

Last week, MailOnline revealed that Ella and Tyrique have split after six months together.

Ella unfollowed Tyrique on Instagram, and he did the same: the exes deleted all traces of each other from the platform.

It comes just 11 days after the pair celebrated Valentine’s Day together and Tyrique treated Ella to a Louis Vuitton bag worth £1,200 as well as a romantic meal and hotel stay, decorating the room with love heart-shaped balloons.

Ella and Tyrique met in a nightclub before starring on Love Island together last summer, but they soon developed feelings for each other in the villa.

MailOnline reported in November that their romance was ‘hanging by a thread’ and that they had even secretly split before giving their relationship one last chance.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Ella and Tyrique have decided it’s time to go their separate ways.

‘They love each other so much but they often struggle to get along and as viewers saw in the villa they were always arguing.

Ella and Tyrique came third on the latest summer series of Love Island, losing out in the top two positions to runners-up Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki and winners Jess Harding and Sammy Root.

Their split means Whitney and Lochan are the only couple from the top three still together after Jess and Sammy ended their romance shortly after winning the £50,000 cash prize.

During their time on the show, Ella and Tyrique often argued, but their feelings for each other prevailed.

MailOnline has reached out to Ella and Tyrique’s representatives for comment.

Their romance was shaken again during Casa Amor’s loyalty test when Ella chose to recouple with Ouzy See, which shook Ty’s pride.

In November, MailOnline revealed that problems in the couple’s relationship caused them to pull out of attending ITV’s annual Palooza at the last minute, but sources said at the time that they were still trying to get their romance back on track.

Ella has achieved success since finding fame on the show, with her fanbase reaching one million followers.

She also signed a lucrative ambassador deal with PrettyLittleThing, directing her own collections and shooting in Los Angeles for the brand.

As I listened to the wind howl and watched the rain hit my window in my small room at the Baltasound Hotel on the intriguing island of Unst in the Shetland Islands, I was beyond glad to be where I was.

It wasn't just that I avoided the storm. It was a feeling of being far away from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life – among the petrel petrels, kittiwakes, gannets, guillemots, seagulls and puffins (and not much else) in Britain's most northerly hotel.

Baltasound Hotel opened in 1939 on Britain's most northerly inhabited island. There are 22 rooms, a restaurant and a bar where whiskey is of course served for a 'little snack' after an invigorating walk along the rugged coastline at the entrance.

That's the great appeal of remote Unst, population 632, some six miles long and five miles wide: hitting the footpaths and exploring the dramatic landscape with its steep cliffs and arid moonscape-like interior.

Here you are further north than Oslo, the Norwegian capital, and approximately the height of Bergen in Norway and its famous fjord country, just 200 miles across the North Sea to the east.

Tom Chesshyre of MailOnline Travel checked into the Baltasound Hotel, which opened in 1939 on Unst. Most of the hotel dates from the 1860s

Unst is above the 60th parallel – not that far away from the Arctic Circle, which is around the 66th parallel (closer to the island than London).

But location aside, there's another reason to head to Unst and the Baltasound Hotel: it could be local literary legend Robert Louis Stevenson's real-life Treasure Island.

The story goes like this: Stevenson visited Unst in 1869, aged nine, to see the lighthouse being built on the uninhabited island of Muckle Flugga, little more than a barren rock jutting out of the sea just north of Unst. He was taken by his father, the famous lighthouse engineer Thomas Stevenson.

It is said that this impressionable visit cemented itself in the writer's imagination and when it came to writing Treasure Island, his classic story of buccaneers, published in 1883, some believe he was inspired by Unst. The 'proof' of this is that the shape he describes of his fictional island – 'like a fat dragon rising up' – is remarkably similar to the contours of the little-visited Scottish island.

True or not – and Stevenson never let on – it's fun to imagine you're on Treasure Island, setting out for a morning walk from the Baltasound Hotel on the northern edge of Baltasound village, after a hearty Scottish breakfast served by friendly, relaxed staff (excellent bacon and eggs).

The hotel's rooms are in an outbuilding attached to the old stone main building from the 1860s – mine was in this part, a comfortable single room with a pretty tartan bed cover, wooden panels and a caramel-coloured carpet – as well as in a series of log cabins on the property. There are larger rooms including a 'family hut' with bunk beds for children.

On a walk you will soon pass fields of sheep – and some Shetland ponies – to Britain's most northerly church, Haroldswick Methodist Church, as well as Britain's most northerly post office, Britain's most northerly tearoom (Victoria's Vintage Tea Rooms) and the grim remains of Britain's northernmost castle, Muness Castle, built in 1598.

Numerous tourist signs mention its extreme geographical location, which has been adopted as the unofficial local slogan.

The highlight for some is the island's quirky Bobby's Bus Shelter, equipped with a sofa and television and redecorated from time to time to fit annual themes such as the Football World Cup or the Coronation. The name comes from a six-year-old local boy, Bobby McCauley, who saved the shelter from removal in 1996, starting a quirky tradition.

'Oh yes, that's within sight of the hotel. You can take a bus from Lerwick [Shetland’s capital]via the inter-island ferries for around £8,” says Steve, owner of the Baltasound Hotel, who adds that many guests are birdwatchers and photographers who go to the Hermaness National Nature Reserve to see the puffins and 'Keen of Hamar Nature Reserve' to see. .

Famous recent guests have included TV adventurer Ben Fogle and politician Hilary Benn. Leading American sociologist Erving Goffman stayed there in the mid-20th century – and some American academics make a pilgrimage to visit his Scottish hideaway.

Over the past few years, the hotel has attracted summer vacationers from as far away as Switzerland and Italy, says Steve (who prefers not to reveal his last name). “It's the location that attracts people,” he says. 'It's a wilderness location in a busy world: a real place. Pristine.'

Sometimes you can also see the Northern Lights, says Steve: 'This is a place to escape from a difficult environment. A beautiful place. Authentic tourism.'

A real treasure of an island indeed.

This is the astonishing moment an impromptu folk music performance broke out on a Ryanair flight from Belfast to Lanzarote, with one passenger playing the violin and another doing an unplanned Riverdance.

Musician Sean Magee launched into a lively rendition of 'Las Vegas in the Hills of Donegal', made famous in the 1990s by folk group Goats Don't Shave.

Accompanied by fellow musicians Nathan Carter and Matthew Crampsey, the trio is currently one of the biggest names in Irish folk music.

Video of the flight shows fellow passengers laughing, singing and clapping as the plane heads to the Canary Islands.

And while the song was going, suddenly a female passenger stood up and started doing a Riverdance, which put her in a fun mood on the plane.

The images were recorded by Danny Walters, who went on holiday with his wife.

Sean, who was also on holiday with his wife, asked his friend to “pass him the violin” mid-flight, Danny claims.

“We got on the plane and the guys were sitting behind us,” Danny said. “About an hour later we heard someone say, 'Guys, give us some fun!'

“Sean had paid for an extra seat for his violin, so he didn't have to leave it in the hold.

'I happened to be sitting in the front, so when I saw the violin coming out, I took out my camera.

'Then it all broke out in Las Vegas in the hills of Donegal – everyone loved it!

“I think it really shortened the flight for all of us.”

Danny even spoke to the musician during their holiday in Lanzarote, when the couple decided to drop by one of Sean's gigs on the island.

'While we were in Lanzarote some of the guys from the plane got gigs, so we went there for fun – and they were really good!'

A wave of unexpected waves washed over the island of Roi-Namur in the Marshall Islands on Saturday, forcing evacuations from a US military base and causing damage that could take months to repair.

A video from a building at the U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll widely distributed on social media showed a wave of water crashing through a set of double doors, knocking them off their hinges and upsetting people standing nearby. Another blast of water poured through the windows, forcing people to wade through waist-high water as furniture and vegetation floated around them.

Roi-Namur is a small island about 2,300 miles southwest of Hawaii and is the second largest island of the Kwajalein Atoll, a loop of coral reefs in the Marshall Islands.

The U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll supports a missile range and test facility. About 120 soldiers were living in Roi-Namur when the waves hit, and 80 were evacuated, said Mike Brantley, a spokesman for the base. in a statement on Tuesday.

Flooding from the waves damaged homes and left the dining facility, chapel and theater “moderately to severely damaged,” the statement said. A car complex was still flooded on Tuesday.

It could take months for recovery efforts to be completed, Mr. Brantley said.

He said 60 people remained behind to assess the damage and restore basic services, as well as to deliver water and fuel to nearby Enniburr Island, where the base's Marshallese workers live.

Army photos showed it extensive flooding on the island and an eatery that is overrun with mud and plants.

Col. Drew Morgan, the garrison commander, said in a video posted on Facebook on Monday that there were “some minor injuries” when the waves hit.

“Clearing the runway at Roi-Namur and assessing its safety is our top priority as we have evacuated personnel not required for initial response efforts,” Colonel Morgan said in a statement on Tuesday. “Once the runway is open, we can move people and equipment back and forth to begin the recovery process.”

Roi-Namur has an area of approximately one square kilometer and is “extremely vulnerable” to sea level rise. according to the US Geological Survey.

Man-made global warming is the main cause of rising sea levels around the world. When the ocean surface is higher, storms can push water further inland, increasing the chance of significant damage. The low-lying Marshall Islands, which average only a few meters above sea level, are particularly vulnerable to such waves.

At the COP28 climate summit in December, a Marshall Islands official was one of several representatives from the countries most vulnerable to climate change to criticize a global pact to tackle climate change.

“I came here from my home in the islands to work with all of you to solve the greatest challenge of our generation,” John Silk, the Marshall Islands' minister of natural resources, said in a statement reported by Reuters. “I came here to build a canoe together for my country. Instead, we built a canoe with a weak and leaky hull, full of holes. Instead we put it in the water.”

Raymond Zhong reporting contributed.

Hidden in plain sight awaits a tropical paradise only a stone’s throw away from Australia – and yet few know it exists.

Rarotonga – the largest of the Cook Islands – has breathtaking beaches, jungle-like terrain, spectacular turquoise lagoons and coral reefs filled with marine life.

At large, the Cook Islands of 15,000 people remain untouched – no traffic lights or huge intersections, no McDonald’s, and no sky-high infrastructures. In fact, not a single building is taller than the highest coconut tree.

While thousands of Aussies flock to island getaways like Bali and Fiji, they’re truly missing out on something special.

The little-known luxury oasis is only five and a half hours away from Sydney with Jetstar flights direct – a route that hasn’t been flown by an Australian airline in three decades.

FEMAIL visited Rarotonga and Aitutaki to find out what all the hype was about.

I visited one of the world’s best kept secrets – Rarotonga part of the Cook Islands. Travellers are welcomed to picture-perfect turquoise lagoons, sandy white beaches and tall palm trees

While thousands of Aussies flock to island getaways like Bali and Fiji, they're truly missing out on something special (Rarotonga pictured from above)

The tiny collection of 15 islands isn't visible on a map and most Aussies don't know it exists

Rarotonga is bursting with vibrant scenery in every direction, making it the perfect winter escape for Aussies who don’t want to spend a fortune on a quick holiday.

Everywhere you turn there’s a cascading palette of evergreen blues as far as the eye can see. The lagoon waves ripple onto shore where dogs play on the sand and hermit crabs scurry away.

The greenery continues to the top of the highest mountain where an oceanic volcano sits silently.

Unlike other popular island destinations, there’s no hecklers trying to sell you something for a few dollars. Instead locals greet tourists with a welcoming ‘Kia Orana’.

All 15 islands make up just 240 square kilometre which have been self-governing in free association since 1965 (pictured in Aitutatki)

Aitutaki - the second most popular island (pictured) - is another picture-perfect destination that shouldn't be missed and is only a 50-minute flight from Rarotonga

Time is spent swimming in the inviting blue lagoons, sunbaking, relaxing and exploring all the island has to offer. The luxurious paradise is ideal for couples, families and newlyweds alike – with activities including outdoor experiences such as snorkelling, whale watching and hiking.

In the middle of June, the temperature teeters between a top of 25 to 28 degrees Celsius, with the sun glistening onto the shimmering clear waters.

A single 32km road runs around the outer edge of the island, making it easy to get around but a rental car is a must. Similarly, a SIM card is also essential as Wi-Fi is limited and ATM machines are scarce, so bring cash.

All 15 islands make up just 240 square kilometre which have been self-governing in free association since 1965.

COOK ISLANDS MUST-DO ACTIVITIES AND SIGHTS

Naturally tourists will be eager to swim in the inviting lagoons – and why not look a little further by diving with sea turtles.

Ariki Adventures offer a unique sea turtle snorkelling experience where guests are handed a ‘sea scooter’ to use while swimming – a fast underwater device making it quick and easy to move around in the water.

During the two-hour tour visitors will have the opportunity to get up close to countless turtles, tropical fish, starfish, and even manta rays.

Humpback whales also tend to swim in the area and can be spotted on the odd occasion if lucky.

However, due to the nature of the tour and sea scooters, this activity ideal for adults and teenagers only, particularly those with an adventurous side.

Those with young children may wish to consider a Koka Lagoon Cruise across the stunning Muri Lagoon. Guests will have the perfect view of Rarotonga from the water and are offered a 40-minute snorkelling session, delicious BBQ lunch, and entertainment on board.

Once on shore there’s also a coconut climbing show to demonstrate how coconuts are collected from the tall swaying trees, along with a fun coconut husking show the whole family will enjoy.

Majority of food needs to be imported from New Zealand to the Cook Islands. However, fresh fish, pork and vegetables are sold locally

Alternatively paddle boarding and jet ski tours are other options.

Every Saturday morning on Rarotonga the Punanga Nui Market is open to host more than 130 food and craft stalls, giving visitors the opportunity to take home a souvenir, try fresh produce and interact with locals.

The market is truly a sensory overload of colour, vibrant music, and excitement in the air.

Aitutaki – the second most popular island – is another picture-perfect destination that shouldn’t be missed. Just a 40-minute flight from Rarotonga, Aitutaki is best seen from the water on a full-day cruise to snorkel and visit postcard-perfect beaches.

This island is abundantly smaller compared to Rarotonga but has some of the clearest waters in the world and is known to be a world-class honeymoon destination.

Now the little-known luxury oasis is only five and a half hours away from Sydney as Jetstar is offering direct flights to Rarotonga aboard the new A321-NEO aircraft - a route that hasn't been flown in three decades (pictured: Aussies arriving on Rartonga for the inaugural flight)

During my visit I stayed in Manuia Beach Resort, which is rated 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor (pictured: relaxation area at the resort)

Nearly every night I ate fresh fish for dinner when dining out

The fresh fish and seafood is one of the best things about the Cook Islands, along with the incredible scenery

WHAT MAKES RAROTONGA DIFFERENT?

There’s no McDonald’s, and the closest equivalent is a fast-food hotspot called ‘Super Brown’ offering similar menu items of burgers, hot chips and drinks.

It’s common to see white graves in front yards of homes. Locals who pass away are buried quickly in the gardens of their family’s property as there’s no morgue on the island. This has to do with both the law and tradition.

Rarotonga was ‘what Hawaii used to be 100 years ago’. Metua Mitchell, 27, a local born on the island, told FEMAIL Rarotonga doesn’t compare to other commodified islands of today, because it’s barely been touched.

Foreigners usually have to jump through hoops to buy property on the Cook Islands. The land can only be purchased by those who live on the island, and they can choose to lease the property out if desired.

Nearly everything is shut on Sundays. The dominant religion on the Cook Islands is Christianity and majority of the population attend church on Sundays then spend time with family rather than working.

Though similarly to Bali and Vietnam, don’t drink the tap water – bottled water only

WHAT DO THE LOCALS THINK?

Locals were thrilled over the news that a direct flight is now flying from Australia, as the island heavily relies on tourism.

However, others expressed the importance of maintaining the ‘balance’ between generating tourism dollars and maintaining the beauty of the island.

One told FEMAIL: ‘How will this affect our land? Our oceans? Our people? Will this change things?’

Another said: ‘It’s really exciting to see more tourists around on the island. It was eerie during Covid and some families had to give up their pets to save money. But now the island is bustling with people already.’

Metua Mitchell, 27, told FEMAIL Rarotonga doesn’t compare to other commodified islands of the world, because it lacks giant infrastructures and well-known brands.

‘A lot of people say Rarotonga was what Hawaii used to be 100 years ago, and it’s true,’ Mr Mitchell said.

WHERE TO STAY IN RAROTONGA:

During my visit I stayed in Manuia Beach Resort, which is rated 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor. Other prime locations include Edgewater, Pacific Resort and Muri Beach Club Hotel.

I began each day by having breakfast at the resort and gazing upon the beachfront.

Most of my time spent on the island was filled by jumping into the stunning lagoon, going snorkelling and soaking up the sun

Be sure to also make some time (at least a one night stay) at Aitutaki – it was the highlight of the trip and I can’t believe it’s a real place. The scenery continuously took my breath away.

Cook Islands Prime Minister, Mark Brown, said the Cook Islands is the ultimate tropical island destination

Jetstar’s Chief Customer Officer, Alan McIntyre was at Sydney Airport to farewell the first flight.

‘This service will make the Cook Islands the next hot holiday spot for Australians seeking a tropical island escape to relax and unwind, especially during cooler months,’ he said.

Cook Islands Prime Minister, Mark Brown, said the Cook Islands is the ultimate tropical island destination.

‘The island is renowned for some of the world’s most incredible crystal-clear waters, and Aitutaki lagoon is recognised as one of the most beautiful in the world,’ Mr Brown said.

Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips was left gobsmacked to see her ex Callum coming face-to-face with former flame Molly during Monday’s All Star’s spin-off.

The 28-year-old, who was coupled with the hunk during the 2020 series, took to her Instagram Stories and shared a hysterical clip as her mouth hung open in absolute shock.

Writing: ‘Everyone right now’.

Callum dumped Shaughna to couple up with Molly during the sixth season and they went on to have a three-year relationship, even moving in together in Manchester.

But they broke up just six months ago and had an awkward on-screen reunion when they both shockingly entered the South African villa during the All Stars launch.

Callum was revealed to be the first bombshell shaking things up in the villa directly after host Maya Jama coupled up the main line-up of former show legends.

However in an epic and very unexpected twist, Molly walked in directly after him as a second bombshell, leaving Callum completely stunned.

Upon her entrance, Callum was wide-eyed as Molly strutted her stuff through the doors, leaving the rest of the villa reeling at the very uncomfortable reunion.

Maya then explained that Callum would have a choice between stealing one of the girls from an existing couple, or coupling up with his ex-girlfriend Molly.

Molly was seen looking unimpressed and rolling her eyes at the prospect of Callum picking her with following their break-up, as the pair did not appear to be on good terms.

Reacting to the ‘savage’ twist, viewers were quick to take to social media to share their shock, with some admitting they didn’t even know the couple had split up.

They said: ‘When Callum walked in I thought ‘oh damn I need to check Mollys insta story after this’ …. THEN SHE WALKED IN;’

‘Making molly and callum bombshells together is f**king insane;’ ‘This being how i found out callum and molly broke up;’

‘I CANT COPE THIS IS INSANE!!!! #LoveIsland also, I love Callum his little face dropped when she came in. She seems angry at him, I’m so invested already;’

‘Yessss I GASPED at that! Callum and Molly at the same time!’

Before Molly’s shock entrance, Callum had told Maya that he had an ‘idea’ of who he wanted to couple up with as he stood smiling, keen to embark on his second Love Island journey.

In September, it emerged that Callum and Molly had gone their separate ways after three years together.

Callum moved out of their Manchester home following the break-up, with a source claiming that Molly had wanted to get engaged.

Insiders told The Sun at the time: ‘It’s really sad as they were a sweet couple together but it’s over – and has been for a few weeks.

‘They’re trying to stay friends – they were together for over three years – but it’s difficult. I think in the end, Molly wanted to get engaged and that didn’t happen.

‘Everyone was really surprised when they split as they were perfectly matched. He’s now moved out of the home they shared and they’ve split custody of their two dogs.’

Molly and Callum met on the first-ever winter edition of the ITV dating show in 2020, where they left before the finale.

The couple moved into a lavish four-bedroom house in Manchester that November after meeting on the show.

Former scaffolder Callum previously revealed that he can see himself marrying model Molly and potentially having children together.

Last year, he gave a now-poignant interview in which he hit back at people who judged them, revealing they have ‘proved a few people wrong’ after recently celebrating their two year anniversary.

He said: ‘We are perfect. We’ve got two dogs so we’ve got a proper little family going, it’s lovely. There is other things we want to focus on at the minute but obviously in the future it’s definitely something we both want together…

‘We’ve just not really decided when. We’re just enjoying things that we’ve got at the minute and then family and marriage will eventually come into it.’

Callum explained that viewers of the dating show judge islanders but only see a segment of each day: ‘People can judge from an outside perspective…

‘Obviously they don’t see 24 hours of Love Island, they only see 60 minutes so people can obviously judge but we’re still together. That was the main thing I went in there for so yeah, I’d say we’ve proved a few people wrong.’

Reflecting on his experience, he said: ‘I didn’t think I was going to get a girlfriend and we were gonna live together. I was really open minded and the thing I really wanted was to find someone.

If you had to pick your top Islanders from Series 1 to 10 to couple up with who would they be and why? Chris Taylor, he’s hilarious and the main thing I’m attracted to is a man who can make me laugh. What a fun guy and like I said, I’m looking for someone to TikTok with so I reckon he’d be game for that sort of stuff!

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? I’m returning to the Love Island Villa because I did it eight years ago and what an opportunity I never thought I’d get again. I’m not very good at finding love but I had a ball the first time, so I’m going to have a ball again.

You got engaged on the show last time, do you think wedding bells could be on the cards again this time round? Absolutely not, not in the Villa no. Maybe when I get out, but I’d need to give it a bit of time.

Georgia Steel

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? I’m 25, I have a house, a cat, a nice car – I have everything in life but a boyfriend, so why not give it as go.

You’ve been brave and honest in opening up about being conned by a former partner. How has this experience impacted the way in which you now approach dating?

I take that experience as a really positive reflection now. I look at it as something I had to go through to make me stronger and learn things in life for me to be able to learn what I want in my next partner.

Jake Cornish

AGE: 26

How will you feel if you come across an ex in the Villa or someone you’ve dated from the show since appearing? Well there is only one and that’s Liberty. We never ended with any bad blood between us and everything happens for a reason. We just become two different people in the end.

Toby Aromolaran

AGE: 24

SERIES: 7

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? If I’m Single and Love Island is an opportunity for me, how could you turn down the chance to find love again?!

You were in a long term relationship with Chloe Burrows, what do you think her reaction will be when she hears you are going into the Villa? I don’t know how she would take it. We will always have love for each other and I think she would wish me the best of luck, as I would certainly do the same.

Chris Taylor

AGE: 33

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? Last time I was only there for 15 days, so I want to do it and enjoy it all again. I am 33 now and getting on a bit – I am getting ear hair! It would be nice to have a girl to keep my ears trimmed for me!

How did the Barbie Movie come about? I was invited to an afterparty by Margot Robbie and then ended up at an after party with her. I started to panic and make conversation with her, just having really stupid chats. All I can assume is that my silly chat made an impression on Margot Robbie. 18 months later I got an email from Warner Brothers asking do you want to try out for this role as Ken – it was a tumble dryer of emotions.

Luis Morrison

AGE: 29

SERIES: 1

Why are you returning to the famous Love Island Villa? It was the best experience of my life. I found love in the Villa before and who knows if I can find love in there again?

What will you do differently this time round?

I’m a lot older and wiser, so I know what I am getting myself into. I don’t have a game plan at all – I am an open book so I will go with the flow and see what happens.

Anton Danyluk

AGE: 29

SERIES: 5

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? For me it was a no brainer. I got the call and it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and probably the best summer I have ever had in my life. Getting the chance to do it twice is going to be unbelievable.

Why do you think the Love Island Villa is the perfect place to find love?

I think this time with Love Island: All Stars, things will be different, as we all understand what it’s like to go on Love Island and the only thing now missing is finding a partner.

Mitchel Taylor

AGE: 27

SERIES: 10

Why are you returning to the Love Island villa? I think I went in with my heart on my sleeve the first time and got hurt and this time I am just going in to enjoy myself and if a connection happens, a connection happens.

In the summer you were given the name ‘Messy Mitch’, and a name that you have taken on as your own,  can we expect more of the same in the series? I’ll be honest, I don’t really plan on being ‘Messy Mitch’. It just depends on what day of the week it is. I wear my emotions on my sleeve and what you see is what you get. I am very honest and very opinionated and I think that’s what people like me for. If I don’t agree with something, I’m not going to hold it back.

As a flood of foreign visitors fuels seemingly nonstop development on once-pristine Greek islands, local residents and officials are starting to fight back, trying to curb a construction boom that is starting to cause water shortages and change the island's unique cultural identity.

Tourism is crucial in Greece, accounting for a fifth of the country's economic output, and communities on many islands depend on it. But critics say development has gotten out of hand in some areas, especially on islands like Mykonos and Paros, where large-scale hotel complexes have mushroomed in recent years.

Teachers and other professionals on this and other Cycladic islands, a popular cluster in the Aegean Sea, have struggled to find affordable housing amid an influx of visitors and homebuyers, leading to growing protests from locals over the impact of unbridled tourism.

The islands, which are at the forefront of Greece's tourism boom, are facing increasingly urgent calls to preserve their natural and cultural heritage.

The number of foreign arrivals in Greece broke another record in 2023, with 30.9 million in the first ten months of the year, according to the Bank of Greece – an increase of 17 percent on the previous year and higher than tourism levels before the pandemic.

To meet this demand, 461 new hotels opened in Greece's southern Aegean islands between 2020 and 2023, according to data from the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, compiled by the Athens-based Research Institute for Tourism. According to the institute, 126 of these were opened last year.

The proliferation of swimming pools has put serious pressure on water supplies on Cycladic islands such as Sifnos and Tinos, and the aggressive expansion of seaside bars across pristine beaches on many islands has sparked a backlash from locals.

Conservationists and architects are also leading the charge to preserve the Cyclades' character, which they say is at risk of being erased amid a real estate-driven homogenization of holiday destinations.

The Athens-based Museum of Cycladic Art, which exhibits the unique marble figurines that were produced on these islands in ancient times and influenced the course of Western art, works with local authorities and associations with the same goal.

Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni recently promised that unfettered growth would no longer go unchecked.

“We have a clear vision and goal for the sustainability of destinations and of our tourism product,” she said at a conference in Athens last month. She said that in the future there would be greater emphasis on protecting the natural environment and cultural identity of individual destinations, with legislation being drawn up to support that effort.

Those pushing for change are not convinced.

“It's very easy to talk about sustainable development, but all they actually do is approve new investments,” says Ioannis Spilanis, former secretary general for island policy at the Greek Ministry of Shipping and now head of the Aegean Sustainable Tourism Observatory .

Mr Spilanis, a native of Serifos, was one of several experts who addressed a conference in Mykonos in November on how tourism has “radically changed” the Cyclades. The event was organized by local authorities who recently appealed to a top Greek court over a project for a five-star hotel complex and a superyacht marina. (The court allowed the development but limited the size of the marina.)

Nikos Chrysogelos, a former member of the European Parliament from the Ecologist Greens party who launched a sustainability initiative for the Cyclades, said developers overlooked the Cyclades' special features and treated them as suburbs of cities.

“You used to see farm buildings and dry stone walls – there was harmony in the landscape,” said Mr Chrysogelos, a resident of Sifnos. “Now you see roads, hotel complexes, high walls. It could be Dubai or Athens.”

Nikos Belios, a high school principal and head of the local farmers' and beekeepers' cooperative, said Sifnos had experienced an influx of investors “from all over the planet, who built colossal structures, like fortresses, with huge walls” to accommodate to the rich. tourists.

“They arrive, load up their Cayennes, Jeeps or Hummers and lock themselves in,” he said of the tourists. “They have no interest in Sifnos – it is a dot on the map for them.”

Last year, Maria Nadali, the mayor of Sifnos, urged the Greek government to curb “dizzying” tourism development – including banning the construction of more private swimming pools and “cave houses” built into mountainsides, a trend that according to her, the island's 'morphology and unique architectural physiognomy' changed.

The Museum of Cycladic Art is also involved, trying to help the islanders protect the island's natural environment and heritage. The museum organizes programs on eight islands, with topics including preserving the ancient marble quarries of Paros – the source of many Cycladic antiquities – and documenting and promoting traditional water management practices on Andros.

“We are trying to help them protect their heritage,” said Cassandra Marinopoulou, CEO and president of the museum, citing the main threats as increasing tourism, the abandonment of local traditions and the effects of climate change.

The initiative also aims to support cultural tourism on the islands, with digital walking tours and the promotion of local gastronomy, said Ms Marinopoulou, whose family is from Andros.

“We don't want Cycladic food to disappear because the younger generations sell the family tavern and it becomes a sushi bar,” she said. “What a visitor wants is authenticity. They don't want to see something they saw in Ibiza, that's not authentic.”

Amid the glut of five-star hotels, some companies are trying to promote 'slow travel' as an alternative model that supports local communities rather than sidelining them.

One of them, the travel startup Limitless living, introduces foreign visitors to local culture with pottery workshops, visits to textile factories and Greek lessons. “When choosing new Boundless locations, we are keen to identify and protect cultural gems,” said Elodie Ferchaud, founder of the travel startup, which has brought dozens of foreign families to Syros for three-month stays.

But many Cyclades residents say a complete overhaul of Greece's tourism model is needed.

“We have to find a way to survive,” Mr. Spilanis said. “Destroying the property you're sitting on is not the way.”
