Andaman and Nicobar Islands are leading the distribution of Rozgar Mela appointment letters

Andaman and Nicobar Islands ranks third in the distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited individuals during the first and third rounds of the Rozgar Mela employment fair.

Port Blair: Andaman and Nicobar Islands led the country with the highest number of appointment letters distributed in the country during the first and third rounds of the Rozgar Mela (employment fair) on September 26, 2023 and February 12, 2024, an official said on Monday. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed nearly 1 lakh appointment letters across 47 locations through video conferencing.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister

As per the reports of PTI, C Arvind, Secretary (Personnel), Andaman and Nicobar Islands said, “Out of all the 47 locations, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has managed to displace other states and UTs in securing the top position in distributing the maximum number of letters of appointment in the first (865 letters of joining) and third (2,721 letters of joining) round of 'Rozgar Mela.'

On the other hand, the archipelago ranked third in terms of distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited persons in the second round of Rozgar Mela held on November 30, 2023 at the Netaji Stadium.

On Monday, the chief guest of the event, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Prakash Arora, acknowledged the UT administration led by Prime Minister Modi for organizing the Rozgar Mela on such a grand scale.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands are the “Karma-Bhoomi”

He said Andaman and Nicobar Islands are the 'Karma-Bhoomi' of freedom fighters where Punjabis have also made sacrifices and played an important role in the struggle for independence.

“It is a fact that under Prime Minister Modi Ji, India has become the fifth largest economy, surpassing many developed countries like England, and will soon become the third largest economy in the world, surpassing Japan and Germany,” Prakash said.

Speaking on the occasion, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Chief Secretary Keshav Chandra expressed his gratitude to Modi and Lieutenant Governor Admiral (Retired) DK Joshi and said that under their joint directions and guidance, the recruitment process could be made so seamless and successful. . He also expressed his sincere gratitude to Prakash for taking up the position.

Local MP Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chief Conservator of Forests Dr TS Ashok Kumar, DGP Devesh Chandra Srivastava and senior officials and employees of the administration were also present on the occasion.
