Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has shared a message of support for Kate Middleton following her shock cancer diagnosis.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, shared the news in a video shared online on Friday evening, UK time.

She explained that following her planned abdominal surgery in January, further tests had revealed the presence of cancer cells and she was now undergoing preventive chemotherapy treatment.

The princess, 42, did not reveal which form of cancer she was battling.

Kate’s announcement follows weeks of increasingly feverish speculation about her whereabouts, spurred by a heavily edited photo of the princess and her children shared by Kensington Palace to mark Mother’s Day in Britain.
