Disturbing footage has captured the moment an Ohio mother calmly lied to police about finding her infant daughter dead in her crib – after secretly leaving the child behind to go on a tropical holiday.

Kristel Candelario, 32, was confronted after her 16-month-old daughter Jailyn was found starving in her own filth after being stranded for 10 days.

The mother, sentenced this week to life in prison, was seen on police bodycam footage in which officers said her daughter had been vomiting throughout the week of June 2023.

Candelario was actually frolicking on a Puerto Rican beach.

In the shocking clip, she coldly told officers: “She had no food, she refused.”

While her daughter was starving, Candelario shared vacation photos of her smiling on a beach, with the caption, “The time enjoyed is the time truly lived.”

Although she later pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and child endangerment, the new bodycam footage shows that she initially lied to police when they questioned her about her daughter’s sudden death.

While she claimed the toddler was “refusing food” before she died, an officer asks her, “And how was she Wednesday and Thursday?”

“She refused, perhaps because she hadn’t eaten two days earlier,” she replied, before shrugging her shoulders to feign confusion in the chilling clip.

“But that’s why I was scared, because I’m like, oh my God, we have to go to the hospital because she’s not eating anything.”

Candelario, who did not appear angry or emotional about her daughter’s death, said the child looked “small” and was “losing weight,” and continued to make up a story about being home all the time.

“When I woke up this morning, she was asleep,” she said. “She sleeps every day, twelve hours.”

“She sleeps from 9 p.m. to 9 or 10 a.m., 12 hours, so this morning I slept too, she never wakes up.”

An officer interrupted her to ask what happened the night before, to which the killer said, “She cried a lot last night.

“And I see one moment, when I was taking a shower, she screamed like, ‘Aaah,’ I don’t know, she probably got hurt, maybe.”

“I pick her up this morning and she looks really dry,” she continued, before saying a few sentences in Spanish.

At her sentencing this week, a judge condemned her actions in the strongest terms as the mother was sent behind bars for life with no chance of parole.

County Common Pleas Court Judge Brendan Sheehan told Candelario she had committed “the ultimate betrayal” by leaving her daughter alone without food.

“Just as you failed to release Jailyn from her captivity, you should also spend the rest of your life in a cell without freedom,” Judge Sheehan said.

“The only difference will be that at least the prison will feed you and give you fluids that you denied it.”

Candelario, who struggles with depression and related mental health issues, said she has prayed daily for forgiveness.

“I’m in so much pain over the loss of my baby, Jailyn,” she said. ‘I am very hurt by everything that has happened.

“I don’t try to justify my actions, but no one knew how much I suffered and what I went through… God and my daughter have forgiven me.”

Curiously, she made the trips with her eldest daughter, and it is unclear why Candelario asked no one to help her care for her child while she was traveling.

She had pleaded guilty last month to aggravated murder and child endangerment. At her sentencing this week, a judge said: 'Just as you did not release Jailyn from her confinement, you should also spend the rest of your life in a cell without freedom.'

After ten days of sunbathing on the beach and enjoying the local sights, she returned to her home on June 16 to find her daughter not breathing.

Paramedics and Cleveland police tragically pronounced the one-year-old dead at the scene, and prosecutors said the child was discovered “on a liner soiled with urine and feces with soiled blankets.”

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley announced the plea in February, saying, “This case is one of those truly unimaginable cases that will stay with me for many years to come.

“As prosecutors, it is our job to represent the victims and today we spoke on behalf of 16-month-old Jailyn – who is no longer with us – because of the selfish decisions her mother made.”

After news of the gruesome death made headlines, a neighbor also revealed that this wasn’t the first time Candelario left her daughter home alone.

An acquaintance told News5 Cleveland, “We keep telling her not to leave her alone, not just me, my girlfriend across the street, but she always leaves her alone.”

Another female neighbor, who was not identified, told CNN that Jailyn was “always a happy baby” and “always smiling.”

The neighbor’s daughter said there were “plenty of people” around who could have looked at the baby. She said, “She could have knocked on one of our doors and asked us to take care of Jailyn, and we would have.”

“When they told us the condition they found her in, I was just heartbroken,” the teenage neighbor told CNN.

From a sign telling you to keep left while pointing right, to a typo at a buffet, these signs are more than a little confusing.

Bored Panda collected a collection of funny photos from around the world, showing some of the most unusual signs in public places.

One image shows a tree jokingly instructing users not to use it as a trash can, while another shows a graffiti removal hotline painted over.

And another sign, found on the London Underground, raised eyebrows when it instructed commuters to walk left while pointing the other way.

Donald Trump has sparked a liberal media meltdown after warning that there will be a ‘bloodbath’ if he loses the election in a fiery speech where he also branded migrants ‘animals.’

The penultimate president painted an apocalyptic vision of the country if Biden wins a second term while speaking at an airfield rally outside of Dayton, Ohio, Saturday to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno.

‘If I don´t get elected, it´s going to be a bloodbath for the whole – that´s going to be the least of it. It´s going to be a bloodbath for the country,’ Trump, 77, warned.

On the subject of immigration and the murder of Laken Riley allegedly at the hands of an undocumented migrant, Trump also described criminal migrants as ‘animals’ – in the latest sign that his campaign rhetoric has become increasingly inflammatory.

Critics including Nancy Pelosi and a retired FBI boss blasted the incendiary ‘bloodbath’ comment as ‘a threat’ – while MAGA supporters said it had been taken out of context by the press because it came in reference to a clampdown on foreign car imports.

Nancy Pelosi was among those to raise concerns about Trump's 'bloodbath' rhetoric

Nancy Pelosi was among those to raise concerns about Trump’s ‘bloodbath’ rhetoric

‘Mexico has taken over a period of 30 years, 34 percent of the automobile manufacturing business in our country,’ Trump said at the Dayton rally.

‘China now is building a couple of massive plants where they’re going to build the cars in Mexico, and they think that they’re going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border.

‘Let me tell you something to China. If you’re listening President Xi, and you and I are friends, but he understands the way I deal.

‘Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, if you think you’re going to get that and not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us – no – we’re going to put a 100 percent tariff on every car that comes across the line.

‘If I don´t get elected, it´s going to be a bloodbath for the whole – that´s going to be the least of it. It´s going to be a bloodbath for the country.’

Headlines quickly seized on the ‘bloodbath’ comment, which Trump supporters said was unfair to use without context -involving the outsourcing of the auto industry that the GOP expects to continue if Biden stays in the White House – and prompted Elon Musk to blast the reports as ‘legacy media lies.’

The outcry over his comments quickly poured onto Musk’s X platform, formerly known as Twitter, as users branded Trump as ‘hateful’ ‘grotesque’ and ‘a dangerous lunatic’ over both his ‘bloodbath’ comment and reference to migrants as ‘animals’.

Retired FBI assistant director Frank Figliuzzi was among those who raised concerns.

‘Trump says if he’s not elected “It will be a blood bath for the country”,’ Figliuzzi wrote on X.

‘FYI, if he IS elected, it will also be a blood bath based on his intentions. The choice is as clear as the threat.’

Former house speaker Nancy Pelosi also weighed in.

‘We just have to win the election, because he’s even predicting a “bloodbath”,’ she told CNN. ‘What does that mean? He’s going to exact a bloodbath? There’s something wrong here.

‘How respectful I am of the American people and their goodness, but how much more do they have to see from him to understand that this isn’t what our country is about?’

‘This is so dangerous,’ UCL professor Brian Klaas wrote while reposting the clip from Trump’s speech on X.

‘Everyone who cares about democracy, rule of law, the Constitution, or the avoidance of death should call this out, denounce it, make clear this is unacceptable.

‘It is a grotesque indictment of our system that this man could still win the presidency.’

Others said Trump was ‘threatening violence once again’ after the Capitol riot of January 6.

Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer also accused Trump of doubling ‘down on his threats of political violence.’

‘He wants another January 6, but the American people are going to give him another electoral defeat this November because they continue to reject his extremism, his affection for violence, and his thirst for revenge,’ Singer charged in a statement.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said the former president had clearly been talking about the impact of a second Biden term on the auto industry and broader economy.

‘Crooked Joe Biden and his campaign are engaging in deceptively, out-of-context editing,’ he said.

Trump also doubled down on his increasingly radical campaign rhetoric in reference to the immigration crisis, after he described migrants as ‘poisoning the blood of our country’ in December.

‘Among my very first actions upon taking office will be to stop the invasion of our country and to send Joe Biden’s illegal aliens back home,’ he said.

‘These are the roughest people you’ve ever seen. And now we have a new form of crime. I call it Biden migrant crime, but it’s too long so let’s just call it migrant crime.’

‘Throughout the world right now, crime is way way down, you know why? Because they sent us their criminals, that’s why,’ he added.

‘Venezuela is down 66 percent because they sent us their gang members and their gangsters. They sent us their drug dealers and their murderers, they’re all coming into our country.

‘All over the world, crime is down, because they’ve sent them to the United States of America because we have a stupid president that allows this to happen. Stupid.’

‘I would do the same thing if I had prisons teeming with MS-13 and all sorts of people that they’ve got to take care of for the next 50 years – young people, if you can call them people, I don’t know if you can call them people,’ he went on.

‘In some cases they’re not people in my opinion, but I’m not allowed to say that because the radical left says that’s a terrible thing to say.

‘They’ll say ‘you’ll have to vote against him because did you hear what he said about humanity?’ I’ve seen the humanity, and these are bad – these are animals, ok.’

Trump also referred to criminal migrants as ‘snakes’ and claimed that ‘what’s happening to our country’ with the influx ‘has not happened before’.

He claimed that ‘no one has been hurt by Joe Biden’s migrant invasion more than our great African American and Hispanic American communities’ along with people on social security because ‘they’re taking our jobs’.

‘With his open border policy Joe Biden has repeatedly stabbed African American people in the back including by granting millions and millions of work permits taking their jobs,’ Trump said.

‘The African American community, the Hispanic community are going to be the ones who suffer the most, and you know who else? Unions. Those unions are going to go out of business.’

Just under an hour into the speech, Trump also appeared to confuse former president Barack Obama with an opponent of Biden’s in the 2020 race.

‘Joe Biden won against Barack Hussain Obama, has anyone ever heard of him?’ Trump told the crowd.

‘Every swing state Biden beat Obama, but every other state he got killed. You think that’s an honest election?’

Turning back to the subject of the rally, Trump said Ohio Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno is ‘going to be a warrior in Washington’.

Moreno faces Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan in Tuesday’s GOP primary.

LaRose and Moreno have aligned themselves with the pro-Trump faction of the party, while Dolan is backed by more establishment Republicans, including Gov. Mike DeWine and former Sen. Rob Portman.

Saturday’s rally was hosted by Buckeye Values PAC, a group backing Moreno´s candidacy.

A one-time Trump critic, Moreno, a wealthy Cleveland businessman, supported Marco Rubio for president in the 2016 Republican primary, and once tweeted that listening to Trump was ‘like watching a car accident that makes you sick, but you can stop looking.’

In 2021, NBC News reported on an email exchange around the time of Trump´s first presidential run in which Moreno referred to Trump as a ‘lunatic’ and a ‘maniac.’

On Saturday, however, Moreno praised Trump as a ‘great American’ and railed against those in his party who have been critical of the former president, who this week became his party’s presumptive nominee for a third straight election.

‘I am so sick and tired of Republicans that say, `I support President Trump´s policies but I don´t like the man,´’ he said as he joined Trump on stage.

Trump also dismissed recent allegations against Moreno, comparing them to attacks he has faced through the years, including his criminal indictments.

Trump has been charged in four separate cases that span his handling of classified documents to his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

His decision to back Moreno marked a major blow to LaRose, who had taken a number of steps to win his favor.

Just days after entering the Senate race, LaRose endorsed Trump for president – reversing an earlier stance that the state´s elections chief should remain politically neutral.

The next month, he fired a long-time trusted aide after old tweets surfaced in which the staffer criticized Trump.

The winner of Tuesday’s primary will face third-term Sen. Sherrod Brown, viewed as among the nation´s most vulnerable Democrats, in November.

Brown, first elected in 2006 and uncontested in his primary this year, has managed to hold onto his seat even as the state has shifted to the right.

In his most recent reelection in 2018, he defeated then-Rep. Jim Renacci by almost 7 percentage points. Two years later, Ohio voted for then-President Trump by 8 points.

Former President Donald Trump blamed his successor, President Joe Biden, for some awkward moments with his teleprompter as he spoke at a rally in Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

Trump spoke Saturday at a windswept airport outside Dayton in support of his presidential rematch with Biden and his favored Senate candidate Bernie Moreno.

The presumptive Republican nominee, 77, repeatedly noted that he was having trouble reading his teleprompters, which were visibly flapping in 35-mph winds.

As the prompters rolled around and Trump became increasingly visibly frustrated – at one point saying, “Don’t pay these suckers!” to those who set it up – about the inability to understand his speech, he joked: “I think Joe Biden put them in there!”

Although he bragged about how nice it was to have “a president who doesn’t need a teleprompter,” he made some obvious speaking errors during the meeting without being able to use them.

Former President Donald Trump blamed his successor, President Joe Biden, for some awkward moments with his teleprompter as he spoke at a rally in Ohio on Saturday afternoon

Notably, he claimed that President Biden once defeated former President Barack Obama in an election, after saying Trump would beat Biden by “the largest margins ever.”

‘You know what’s interesting? Joe Biden defeated Barack Hussein Obama, has anyone ever heard of him? Biden defeated Obama in every swing state, but he was assassinated in every other state.”

He was also recorded struggling to pronounce the name of the band The Rolling Stones, whose music Trump’s team uses at rallies, calling them “The Rolling Storns.”

Trump also mispronounced the word “bite” while retelling his infamous “The Snake” story.

Progressive media also claimed that Trump made a mistake in pronouncing candidate Moreno’s name, pronouncing it more like “Marino.”

Moreno, a former Trump critic who is a wealthy Cleveland businessman, supported Marco Rubio for president during the 2016 Republican primaries, once tweeting that listening to Trump was “like watching a car crash that makes you sick, but you can stop looking’. ‘

In 2021, NBC News reported on an email exchange around the time of Trump’s first presidential run in which Moreno called Trump a “crazy” and a “maniac.”

On Saturday, however, Moreno praised Trump as a “great American” and railed against those in his party who criticized the former president, who this week became his party’s presumptive nominee for a third straight election.

“I’m so sick of Republicans saying, ‘I support President Trump’s policies, but I don’t like the man,’” he said as he stood on stage with Trump.

Trump also dismissed the recent allegations against Moreno, comparing them to attacks he has faced over the years, including his criminal charges.

The former president has been charged in four separate cases involving his handling of classified documents and his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

“He’s getting very harsh bogus treatment from the Democrats right now,” Trump said. ‘And we will not support that.’

Trump also accused Biden of posing a threat to Social Security in his comments as he continued to clean up comments from an interview earlier this week in which he appeared open to cuts.

“Your Social Security will be gone,” he warned of a second Biden term, even as Biden has pledged to protect and strengthen Social Security as it faces a projected budget deficit.

“With this man in office, you cannot get social security because he is destroying our country’s economy. And that also applies to Medicare, by the way, and American seniors are going to be in big trouble.”

“I have promised that I will always adhere to Social Security and Medicare. We will always keep it. We’ll never make it,” he said.

Trump is scrambling to catch up on President Joe Biden’s huge fundraising advantage with just eight months until the election.

The Republican National Committee has just $40 million in the bank, compared to the $130 million the Democratic operations had last month.

The massive funding gap is steadily widening as Democrats open their wallets to support Biden’s campaign to retain the White House.

Democrats raised more than $10 million in the 24 hours after last Thursday’s State of the Union, far more than Trump’s biggest day, where he raised $4.2 million after his mugshot in the Georgia election fraud case was released .

The calories burned and endorphins released, even during an easy run, have long been a proven boon to health.

But now jogging is facing its harshest headlines since Jim Fixx – who sparked the global running revolution – dropped dead of a heart attack during his morning jog in 1984.

According to a new study, jogging can make people angry and more aggressive because it is repetitive and boring.

US researchers, who analyzed data from more than 10,000 people, say runners should ditch their trainers and take up yoga or aerobics if they want to feel less angry.

Dr. Sophie Kjaervik, who led the research at Ohio State University, said: ‘The finding was somewhat of a surprise. We expected activities such as boxing to increase anger, but not jogging.

‘Folk wisdom suggests that running reduces anger and aggression, but that is not the case. Running is good for your heart, but not for anger management. We found that jogging in particular increased anger.

‘This may be because it involves repetitive movements, which can be monotonous and lead to boredom or frustration, increasing the likelihood of experiencing anger.

‘Some people may also feel like they have less control during jogging exercises, which can lead to feelings of anger.’

The team analyzed global survey data on sports and recreational activities and their link to anger management.

An analysis of 154 studies involving 10,189 men and women was included. The activities ranged from kickboxing, punching a bag and shooting a paintball gun to cycling, swimming and yoga.

Levels of anger, aggression and hostility were measured in questionnaires.

Participants had to agree or disagree with statements such as: ‘I sometimes feel like a powder keg about to explode’, and ‘given enough provocation I could hit someone else’.

The results show that jogging and climbing stairs significantly increased anger, while ball games and aerobic exercise had a calming effect.

Yoga, meditation, and similar activities were also soothing because they reduce physiological arousal.

High levels of arousal trigger the so-called ‘fight or flight’ response and increase both stress levels and the likelihood of anger.

The researchers write in Clinical Psychology Review: ‘We found that reducing physiological arousal can reduce anger and aggression, supporting the idea that turning down the flame can reduce heat.

‘Our findings suggest that although regular physical activity has many health benefits, it does not provide any benefits for anger management.’

With just days to go before the election, Ohio’s three-way Republican Senate primary has turned into a food fight, fueling concerns about former President Donald J. Trump’s favored candidate, Bernie Moreno.

Tuesday’s contest to decide who will take on Senator Sherrod Brown has been contentious for months, with Mr. Moreno, a wealthy former car dealer who has never held elected office, struggling to outpace his rivals, State Senator Matt Dolan and Secretary of State Business to avoid Frank. LaRose. But a handful in recent weeks independent studies have indicated that Mr. Dolan, a more traditional conservative with deep pockets of his own, is gaining popularity.

On Monday, Mr. Dolan received the approval from Governor Mike DeWine of Ohio — after receiving support last week from another statewide Republican, former Sen. Rob Portman. That same day, Mr. Trump’s campaign announced that the former president would appear alongside Mr. Moreno in Dayton on Saturday, which was widely interpreted as a sign that Mr. Moreno could benefit from an eleventh-hour boost. (The former president had planned to attend a meeting in Arizona but was diverted over concerns about Mr. Dolan’s surge in internal polling, according to two people familiar with the planning.)

In the home stretch, Mr. Dolan and the groups backing him have outspent both Mr. Moreno and Mr. LaRose, blanketing the airwaves with attacks highlighting inconsistencies in Mr. Moreno’s record that could be important in a Republican primary, like the more liberal views about immigration that he has embraced in the past. At the same time, Mr. Moreno and his backers have portrayed Mr. Dolan as not supportive enough from Mr Trump.

“This is between the steadfast, consistent conservatives of the last 20 years versus the more upstart, populist, Donald Trump-inspired candidates,” said Ryan Stubenrauch, a Republican strategist in Ohio who has not endorsed the policy. one of the candidates.

He called Mr. DeWine and Mr. Portman “conservative, popular politicians who have done a lot of good” in Ohio, adding: “That still counts for something, that’s what we’re seeing, and it’ll be interesting to see how much it counts.”

Republicans have seen this year as their best chance yet to defeat Mr. Brown, the only Democrat to retain a statewide position in Ohio. After Mr. Trump won the former battleground state by overwhelming margins in 2016 and 2020, Ohioans sent J.D. Vance, who won his own nasty primary with Mr. Trump’s support, to the Senate in 2022. challenged by a ticket headlined by President Biden, who remains unpopular in Ohio.

Democrats have made no secret of their desire to compete with Mr. Moreno, who has already been the subject of a barrage of negative ads questioning his conservative bona fides and headlines drawing attention to legal issues involving his companies.

This week, a Democratic group began running an ad highlighting Moreno’s tough stance and close ties to Trump, something Democrats say will be easier to counter in a general election. Mr. DeWine, in a message on XThe interference indicated that Democrats “know he is the weakest candidate to defeat Sherrod Brown this fall.”

Bitterness over the muddled Republican fight has made its way to Washington, where Republican leaders and strategists have privately and preemptively assigned blame. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who disagreed with Mr. Trump over the selection of Republican primary candidates in 2022, casually said that “it would be nice to have a baseball owner here” in the Senate, according to one person with direct knowledge. of the comment. (The Dolan family is a majority owner of the Cleveland Guardians.)

At a meeting of Senate Republicans on Tuesday, Mr. McConnell went further and appeared to question the former president and Mr. Vance’s expressions of support for Mr. Moreno.

“Let’s hope Trump and JD get this right,” Mr. McConnell said, according to two people familiar with the conversation, before adding that “Bernie doesn’t look too attractive.” Mr. McConnell’s comments prompted a swift response from Mr. Vance, who one person said was in the room. A spokesman for Mr. McConnell declined to comment.

Mr. Moreno has attributed the recent attacks and negative reports to his commitment to challenging the status quo, even among Republicans. He posted a message on Friday a video about X from Donald Trump Jr., another prominent financier, who told him during a campaign stop that there were “a lot of people working hard against you.”

“I wear attacks like a badge of honor,” Mr. Moreno wrote. “It means I’m a threat to the establishment.”

Reagan McCarthy, a spokeswoman for Mr. Moreno, said Mr. Dolan was “trying to mislead voters and distract from his anti-Trump, left-wing record.”

“Ohio voters will not be fooled by these desperate and vicious attacks and will nominate the only true conservative in this race on Tuesday: Bernie Moreno,” she said.

In addition to pitting factions of the Republican Party against each other — the old guard versus Trump loyalists — the race has provided a test of Trump’s influence rarely seen in this year’s Republican Party primaries.

In 2022, Mr. Trump endorsed several Senate candidates in battleground states like Pennsylvania and Georgia, who won primaries with his support but lost competitive general elections, allowing Democrats to retain control of the Senate. This time, Mr. Trump and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Republican Senate campaign arm, aligned more closely, largely avoiding painful primaries.

But the NRSC declined to grant an approval in Ohio. The three Republicans and groups supporting them have collectively spent more than $30 million since January 2023, according to AdImpact, a media tracking company. In the final weeks of the campaign, Mr. Dolan and the groups backing him spent several million on advertising against his rivals.

Jim Renacci, a former Republican congressman who ran against Mr. Brown in 2018 and remained neutral in the primary, said Mr. Dolan “seemed to be heading in the right direction, and the other two candidates don’t have the resources. in my opinion to slow him down.

But Mr. Dolan’s support may have a ceiling: He declined to endorse Mr. Trump during the Republican Party’s presidential primaries, backing “Trump policies” rather than the former president personally, before saying he Mr. Trump would “support” once it was clear he would be the nominee. His reluctance could prove troublesome among a primary electorate that overwhelmingly supports Mr. Trump.

“What they see in me is someone who actually gets things done, actually executes, has an agenda, knows the issues, and doesn’t just walk on other people’s backs,” Mr. Dolan said in an interview. a shot at Mr. Moreno.

Brown’s campaign — which raised $5.7 million in the first two months of this year, more than his potential opponents combined — is banking on the continued resonance of his working-class message as Democrats eagerly watch the Republican power struggle .

“Republicans in this race are more focused on fighting each other than fighting for the people of Ohio,” said Katie Smith, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Democratic Party. “No matter which untested rich man makes it through this expensive slugfest, he or she will enter the election damaged, with significant baggage and a steep hill to climb.”

Throughout the contest, Mr. Moreno has portrayed himself as the outsiders’ candidate while leaning on high-profile endorsements, appearing out with Mr. Trump’s eldest son and Mr. Vance, as well as Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota and Vivek Ramaswamy, the former Republican presidential candidate.

Mr. LaRose, the least wealthy of the candidates, has used his background in the U.S. military and his years of government service to portray himself as a conservative fighter, especially on issues like abortion. And Mr. Dolan has presented himself as a consensus-oriented Republican with a softer approach to dealing with undocumented immigrants and access to abortion.

Yet all three men — and the super PACs that support them — have become personal, as many of their policy positions are virtually indistinguishable from one another. Mr. LaRose and Mr. Moreno have joined forces to attack Mr. Dolan as disloyal to Mr. Trump, while both Mr. Dolan and Mr. LaRose have accused Mr. Moreno of shifting his views on everything from gun control to Mr. Trump himself. .

In interviews with nearly two dozen voters at events attended by all three candidates just over a week before the election, the majority said they had not yet decided who to vote for on Tuesday.

Mr. LaRose, once seen as a front-runner and the only candidate to win statewide races, has gone after his opponents after backing two failed attempts to restrict abortion access in Ohio and failing to win passage from Mr Trump. But at a Republican pancake breakfast last Saturday in Cincinnati where all three candidates spoke, Mr. LaRose urged attendees to think about who they “trust” the most.

“That word ‘trust’ is something that transcends people’s big ad buys worth millions of dollars, it transcends a group of famous people supporting someone, and it gets to the heart of the question: When you walk into a voting booth, who do you trust to to represent you in Washington, DC?” Mr. LaRose said in an interview after the event.

Ms. Noem, who supported Mr. Moreno, told voters in Columbus on Monday that she had come “on direct orders” from Mr. Trump, before issuing a warning: “You don’t want to elect a candidate who has a primary like Donald Trump. won’t get here at 1000 percent in November.

But for some voters, like Mitzi Baird of Elyria, Trump’s word wasn’t enough. She showed up to a Lincoln Day dinner at Vermilion confident she would support Mr. LaRose, but continued to lean on Mr. Dolan despite being a “strong supporter” of Mr. Trump.

“I had the feeling that Moreno was there campaigning for Trump, and not for himself,” Ms. Baird said. “I know Trump supported him, but he has to say what he’s going to do – we know what Trump is going to do.”

Lakeview, OH: Blaine Schmidt sifted through the broken glass and splintered wood in his Ohio home on Friday, rescuing a guitar and a bundle of diapers.

His couch and a crib were torn apart by one of the many tornadoes that ripped through the central U.S., killing at least three people and injuring dozens of others. The storm tore open his living room, but at least the house was still standing. The neighbor was razed to the ground.

“I’m lucky to be alive,” Schmidt said hours after he and his roommate took shelter in a bathtub, using the shower curtain to protect them from flying window glass.

Thursday night’s storms left trails of destruction in parts of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Arkansas. In one Indiana community, about 40 people were injured and dozens of homes were damaged. Tornadoes were also suspected in Illinois and Missouri.

The Indian Lake area in Ohio’s Logan County appeared to be the hardest hit. At least three people have died in the county northwest of Columbus, Sheriff Randy Dodds said.

Search crews and cadaver dogs looked for more victims Friday, heading into neighborhoods blocked overnight by gas leaks and fallen trees, Dodds said.

“It’s going to take a long time,” he said, adding that he didn’t know anyone was missing. Much of the damage occurred in the villages of Lakeview and Russells Point, which are dotted with summer cottages owned by people who come to fish and boat.

In Lakeview, Sandy Smith took shelter in a laundry room with her family after hearing the storm sirens. Seconds later they heard debris hitting the house. Her husband saw the garage blown away.

She went upstairs to rescue their cat who was stuck under a bookshelf. As soon as she came back down, the roof collapsed.

“We’re just blessed to be alive,” she said.

A campsite, an RV park and a laundrette were among the many damaged businesses. The storm caused fires in some places and tore power lines through the windows of homes, said Amber Fagan, president of the local chamber of commerce.

About 25 people were treated for mostly broken bones and internal injuries at the nearest hospital in Bellefontaine, said Laura Miller, a spokesperson for Mary Rutan Hospital.

About a half-dozen Lakeview residents interviewed by The Associated Press said they heard tornado sirens 10 minutes before the storm hit, after leaving earlier.

Weather officials were just beginning to confirm the tornadoes, but across the region, residents across the region captured the funnels on video in awe.

In Indiana, a tornado injured 38 people in Winchester. Three of them were in critical condition, but their injuries were not life-threatening, authorities said.

Residents of the city northeast of Indianapolis picked tree branches and sheet metal from their yards. Shingles littered the streets and fields.

Carey Todd, 55, said the tornado looked like a “bunch of black birds.”

Opposite a church that was being destroyed, a hymnal was open with number No. 118, “Shelter in Time of Storm.”

The storm damaged or destroyed about 130 homes and a Taco Bell restaurant, Mayor Bob McCoy said. He and his wife were crouching in a closet when the twister struck.

“I’ve never heard that sound before; I don’t want to hear it again,” McCoy said.

West of Winchester, officials said as many as half of the buildings in the town of Selma, population 750, may have been damaged. Only minor injuries were reported, emergency officials said in a news release.

Gov. Eric Holcomb praised Indiana’s first responders, saying, “By the grace of God, everyone went through all of this.”

Storms also damaged homes and trailers in the Ohio River communities of Hanover and Lamb, Indiana.

In Milton, Kentucky, two people were injured when their car was struck by debris from a tornado that damaged as many as 100 homes and businesses, said Trimble County Emergency Management Director Andrew Stark.

In Arkansas, a likely tornado struck the retirement community of Hot Springs Village, southwest of Little Rock, but there were no reports of fatalities or injuries, National Weather Service meteorologist Erik Green said.

There were also reports of tornadoes in Jefferson County, Missouri, and Monroe County, Illinois.

Outdoor area: Behind the house there is a wooden terrace where you can eat outside when the weather is nice. There are steps down to a stone terrace large enough for lounge furniture. The backyard behind it is landscaped with grass. The detached garage offers space for two cars.
