Jesse Baird’s housemates are moving out of the Sydney rental home where he and his friend were allegedly murdered by an ex-cop and left under a tarpaulin in the property’s courtyard overnight.

Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly used his police-issue Glock pistol to shoot the former Channel Ten presenter and his new friend Luke Davies three times on the Paddington terrace on February 19.

Mr Baird’s housemates arrived home later that evening to find the house in disarray and went to bed, unaware that the couple lay dead in the courtyard.

They rented the three-bedroom terrace in April last year for $1,200 a week, but it is understood they terminated the lease earlier than expected in the wake of the tragedy.

Furniture and household items – including outdoor sofas, towels and armchairs – were dumped on the pavement outside the house on Thursday.

Among the items were a disco ball, a pink heart painted on cardboard and a yellow football placed just inside the gate of the property with a handwritten poem for the deceased couple.

It read: ‘Jesse and Luke, gone like that, forever out of reach. Memories linger as hearts slowly break. Tears fall like rain when grief takes over, the pain of loss is a story often told.”

Among the furnishings were Ikea-style shelves and cabinets, outdoor cushions, two brown swivel armchairs and a box containing a washcloth and towels.

On Thursday morning, the property appeared to no longer be on the market. If it is listed again, the agent will have to tell potential renters or buyers that it was an alleged murder scene.

Detectives allege the killings were a premeditated attack after a months-long campaign of “predatory behavior” against Mr Baird, with whom Lamarre-Condon had a brief “friends with benefits” relationship.

Police say Mr Davies, a Qantas flight attendant, was killed because he happened to be at the Paddington property when Lamarre-Condon – who was a senior officer at the time – turned up.

About 12 hours later he is said to have collected the bodies into a white rental van and taken them to a remote farm in Bungonia, about 180 kilometers south of Sydney.

Among the items left on the footpath was garden furniture (photo). After their death, the couple was said to have been left outside in the courtyard overnight

He is said to have returned to the site to move the bodies to another location in Bungonia, about a 20-minute drive from the original location.

An extensive search was conducted for the couple, but Lamarre-Condon initially did not want to tell police where their bodies were located.

He then spoke with an attorney on February 27, over a week after the alleged murders.

The remains of Mr Baird and Mr Davies were found in surfing bags that afternoon.

In the days after the tragedy, friends and passers-by left bouquets of flowers on Paddington’s terrace.

Sunflowers, roses, dahlias, chrysanthemums and tulips were placed along the iron gates of the building.

Lamarre-Condon was charged with two counts of murder and is currently in the Silverwater Correctional Complex, in Sydney’s west.

He will appear in court at the Downing Center in Sydney on April 23.

Few shopping streets can match the Georgian splendor of Hungerford in Royal Berkshire, which may explain why it appeals to the daughter of the Earl of Carnarvon, Lady Saoirse Herbert, and the Viscount Exmouth’s eldest son and heir, Ed Pellew, who are among its residents – and why the Princess of Wales’s sister Pippa often shops there.

But will their spell last in 2024? I ask this because in the early hours of New Year’s Eve the idyllic market town witnessed a violent, professional attack of the kind usually associated with the worst streets of Sadiq Khan’s London, when a masked gang ‘rammed’ a specialist shop selling rare coins , stamps and gold bullion.

“There were nine of them, all masked,” one shocked resident told me. ‘They knew exactly what they were doing. There were three cars, plus a truck that was dragging the store’s security gates into the street with a claw thing. Then they went inside and took out the safe, which was loaded onto the truck.

‘They had a fifth car, further down the shopping street, as a getaway car. They were in and out within minutes.”

Unbeknownst to the gang, the raid was being filmed by a local resident who, awakened by the sound of breaking glass, had the presence of mind to rush to an upstairs window and record everything on his phone.

But for two residents, the burglary was almost unbearable: actor Nick Lumley and his wife Caroline, who for years not only owned the coin and stamp dealer’s building, but also lived in the adjacent house.

The attack was so brutal that the entire storefront disappeared. This initially hampered the forensic investigation, I was told, as there were fears the entire building would collapse. ‘There’s a hole in the wall of Nick and Caroline’s sitting room. It is visible from the sidewalk. Everyone can see inside.’

Lumley, 69, is too shocked to speak. Over a long and varied career, he has appeared in everything from Coronation Street and Auf Wiedersehen Pet to The Bill and Doc Martin, as well as making a cameo appearance in Downton Abbey, and a slightly longer one – as a convict – in Paddington 2. “He is understandably terrified,” said a concerned neighbor.

Thames Valley Police tell me they received a report of the raid around 5am on Sunday. A spokesperson confirmed that a safe had been taken, adding: ‘Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 or reporting it online, quoting reference 43230582642.’

No one went into 2024 with a bigger bang than Sir Ben Kingsley, who turned 80 on Sunday and rang in the New Year at his £3.5 million Oxfordshire home.

“He probably spent £30,000 on fireworks,” said an impressed local, adding that residents were alerted to the impending spectacle so horses and livestock could be moved.

It’s a touchy subject: a previous New Year’s was marred when another local let loose without warning.

Sir Ben is of course familiar with fireworks; Lady Kingsley, his fourth wife, is the Brazilian beauty Daniela, 31 years his junior.

The late Queen’s amazement about ‘Hamlet girl’

Queen Elizabeth, who played three male roles in pantomimes at Windsor Castle as a teenager, was amazed that an actress played Hamlet before she died.

The revelation comes from Cush Jumbo, who played the leading role at the Young Vic in London in 2021. Jumbo met the Queen when she collected her OBE.

“When I met her, she said, ‘I heard you were playing Hamlet,’ and her eyes opened.

‘She said, ‘I never thought I’d see that in my life: a girl playing Hamlet.’

Jumbo, 38, added: ‘It was amazing and I feel very privileged to have met her before she passed away.’

Madge’s Stella New Year

When Madonna married Guy Ritchie in 2000, her maid of honor was Stella McCartney, who designed her ivory strapless wedding dress.

Although that marriage did not last, the Queen of Pop’s friendship with Sir Paul McCartney’s daughter continues to this day.

And the pair celebrated the start of 2024 together at a lavish party in St. Barts, in the French West Indies, where they wore headbands with the words “Happy New Year.”

Stella admits she was apprehensive when she first met the singer. ‘I was running a bath and was completely unprepared. When she tried on my clothes, I told her she had a big ass. She laughed…and bought some.”

Comedian Ryan criticizes ‘trash’ Disneyland

A Christmas trip to Disneyland Paris turned out to be more of a nightmare than a fairytale for comedian Katherine Ryan.

“Disney Village is like a garbage street,” says the Canadian, 40, who lives in Hertfordshire with her partner, Bobby Kootstra, and three children. “Everyone was vaping and smoking while pushing a buggy or holding a child’s hand. I’ve never seen so much vaping in my life.”

The TV panelist also didn’t see many princesses or Disney stars. “I asked, ‘Where are all the characters?’ she says. ‘It seemed very barren. We saw Jessie [from Toy Story] and the squirrels and that was it. When I took my daughter Violet there in 2011, there were a lot of characters.

“I didn’t have a good time.”

On a New Year’s fitness ride, but can’t handle Dry January? Jeremy Clarkson has a solution.

The Clarkson’s Farm star has filmed himself in the gym sipping a beer.

“When you’re exercising, it’s important to stay hydrated,” he advises. ‘What I recommend is Hawkstone’s new ultra-low alcohol lager. It is a wellness lager, the healthier alternative.’ Gwyneth Paltrow, he’s not.

‘All the world’s a stage,’ penned William Shakespeare.

And were he alive today, he’d surely agree that all of London is a movie set – a notion underscored by fascinating new book The Walking Guide to London Film Sites, written by Colin Tough and beautifully illustrated by David Richardson (and available exclusively on Amazon).

The tome takes readers on a ‘cinematic journey through the bustling streets of London’, inviting them to ‘explore the backdrop of beloved cinematic favourites’.

Some may be surprised at just how many silver-screen hits feature London backdrops, with the book highlighting that scenes for movies from Harry Potter to Thor and from Love Actually to Paddington were shot in the UK capital.

Colin writes: ‘Whether you’re a film buff, a history enthusiast, or an avid explorer, this guide promises an unforgettable adventure through the heart of cinematic London.’

The book features 50 illustrated film locations. Scroll down for a sneak peek at 10 of them…

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, HAMPTON COURT PALACE: ‘Hampton Court Palace was used as a filming location for the fourth instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series,’ explains Colin, ‘with the palace representing St James’s Palace, where Captain Jack Sparrow is arrested and brought before King George II.’ Colin adds that the palace was also used for scenes in Netflix spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and the award-winning 2018 film The Favourite

THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013), OLD ROYAL NAVAL COLLEGE, GREENWICH: The Royal Naval College, explains Colin, 'is where the final battle between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) takes place, as Malekith lands his ship at the college and begins his attack designed to tear apart the universe.' Other starring roles for the college, reveals the author, were for 1958 Cary Grant flick Indiscreet, 2012's Les Miserables and 2011's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (2007), WATERLOO STATION: Colin explains in the book that Waterloo station 'is where Simon Ross (Paddy Considine), a journalist who is investigating Jason Bourne's past, is assassinated', adding: 'Bourne (Matt Damon) attempts to protect the journalist from unseen gunmen as crowds bustle around them in the packed station.' The author points out that the station, the first London terminus for Eurostar from 1994 to 2007, has also featured in Sliding Doors (1998), Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie (2016) and Man Up (2015)

HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (2001), AUSTRALIA HOUSE, ALDWYCH: 'The interior of Australia House,' writes Colin, 'was used as the location for Gringotts Bank, which plays a significant role in the film. When Harry and Hagrid go to make a withdrawal from Harry's parents' vault, Hagrid removes the Philosopher's Stone. The eccentrically angled exterior of Gringotts Bank is obviously a set, but the interior is the impressive Exhibition Hall of Australia House.' Colin adds that a replica of the interior of Australia House was built at the film's Leavesden Studios for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2010)

FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL (1994), ST BARTHOLOMEW THE GREAT, WEST SMITHFIELD, BARBICAN: Colin explains how the church fits into the plot of Four Weddings, writing: 'Over the course of five social occasions, a committed bachelor, Charles (Hugh Grant), begins to realise he’s fallen in love with an attractive American, Carrie (Andie MacDowell). St Bartholomew is the church where Charles is due to marry an ex-girlfriend, Henrietta.' The church was also used, Colin notes, for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) and Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes (2009). Plus, it appears as Thor's vision of Asgard in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), the author reveals

BRIDGET JONES’ DIARY, THE GLOBE TAVERN, 8 BEDALE STREET, SE1 9AL: How does this pub feature in the 2001 hit? Colin writes: 'Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) is a single woman who is trying to find love and happiness. She lives in a small flat above the Globe Tavern and she often goes to the pub to meet her friends. The area around the Globe is also where Bridget’s boss Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) and Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) come to blows during a birthday party'

A stunning Sydney cottage owned by swimwear mogul Natasha Oakley and her husband Theo Chambers has gone under the hammer for a reported $8.6 million.

The couple sold the 1880s Paddington home last week after it was originally listed for $7.75 million.

Located 3km from the CBD, the price list for the four-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment was later revised to $8.5 million just before the auction.

Chambers bought the property in 2017 for $5.4 million, reports said The Daily Telegraph.

Located on one of Paddington’s most sought-after streets, the two-storey stone vintage house is an elegant blend of old-world charm with modern luxury.

The expansive home has been carefully renovated to retain its classic wooden finishes and features American oak, Carrara marble and sandstone.

Highlights include solid oak herringbone floors and a beautiful front garden.

Meanwhile, the extensive kitchen opens onto a beautiful travertine terrace and outdoor courtyard.

There is also a large living room with sandstone fireplace, adjacent to a formal dining room with cocktail bar.

The sale comes after Oakley tied the knot with Chambers in Italy in August.

The couple, who started dating four years ago, announced their wedding plans in July 2022.

Model Natasha, whose blog A Bikini A Day turned into her own swimwear line, debuted on the Financial Review Young Rich List last year at number 71.

The 33-year-old has 3.6 million Instagram followers and an estimated net worth of $63 million thanks to her Monday Swimming brand and online fitness program, The Pilates Class.

Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas, Rachel Zegler and Emily Mortimer are reportedly in talks to possibly join the Paddington cast in Peru, according to Variety.

On Friday, the outlet reported that Colman, 49 — who recently attended the premiere of LA’s Secret Invasion — may play the mother in the film, which will be its third installment.

Banderas, 62, is in talks to play Hunter Cabot, and Rachel Zegler, 22, will play Gina, Cabot’s daughter.

Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin have already been cast in the film.

Ben Whishaw will return to voice Paddington and Imelda Staunton will once again play Aunt Lucy.

Meanwhile, Mortimer, 51, will replace Sally Hawkins, 47, as Mrs Brown.

Hawkins explained of leaving the franchise, “For me it felt like the right time to hand over the reins to another, and someone can’t get much better than the truly amazing Emily Mortimer, she’s extremely special.”

“She will embody the essence of Mary Brown while still making it her own. But I am and always will be in love with the world of Paddington.

“I already miss my family on and off screen so much – the experience of making the first two films has truly been one of the best and most creative times I’ve had in the film world.”

She added, “They both have given me so much joy. I will keep them so close to my heart forever.”

Last September it was announced that Paddington In Peru would begin filming in London and Peru this year.

The film follows Paddington as he returns to Peru to visit his Aunt Lucy, who lives at the Retired Bears Home.

The journey takes Paddington and the Brown family on an unprecedented journey through the Amazon rainforest and up into the mountains of Peru.

The upcoming film is written by Paul King, who directed the first two films.

For the third iteration of the films, Dougal Wilson will take the lead as director, marking his debut.

Wilson shared, “I am absolutely thrilled to be working with such a great cast on the next installment of the Paddington story.

“I was already a huge fan of our returning actors, but having them join Olivia, Antonio, Emily and Rachel is beyond exciting.”

Anna Marsh, Studiocanal’s CEO, told the publication that “with Dougal at the helm, Paddington in Peru will encapsulate the heart, humor and warm mayhem of the beloved Paddington 1 and 2 films, while Paddington and the Brown family taken in a strange way’. new adventure.’

She added that it “seems only fitting that we welcome some new cast and locations here – a new adventure for all of us.”

Michael Bond, author of the Paddington books, sent his bear back to Darkest Peru – in 1964, when he took a trip to celebrate his great-aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday (an event that occurs in Paddington 2).

On his way home by boat, Paddington dreams that he is being chased by a giant biscuit and must seek refuge with the ship’s doctor.

Past Paddington films have grossed substantial profits, and the 2018 sequel grossed $227.9 million worldwide.

And 2015’s Paddington saw a gross of $282.3 million after a budget “in the $50 million range.”

Heyday Films will produce – David Heyman and Rosie Alison will serve as producers and Rob Silva will serve as co-producer.

King serves as executive producer alongside Marsh, Ron Halpern and Dan MacRae of Studiocanal and Tim Wellspring and Jeffrey Clifford.
