A BRIDESMAID is left feeling ‘oppressed’ after being pressured to give £1,000 as a wedding present.

The woman, from Scotland, revealed she has been saving for her friend’s wedding for three years but still cannot afford the going rate.

She said on social media: “How much do I give the bride and groom for the wedding gift since they asked for cash?

‘They already own their own house, so they don’t have a register.

“The other bridesmaids are giving over £1,000 but I just can’t afford to give that much and the others are making me feel pinched.

‘All the other bridesmaids have already given the money because they won’t see her until the day of the hen.

“There have been a few others who have donated quite a bit more than £1,000.”

It then emerged that the bridesmaid has already spent £900 of her own money on wedding and hen party costs, plus paying for her own flights and accommodation.

But none of the other members of the bridal party contributed a cent.

She said: “The hen is abroad and a few days before the wedding so I had to organize it.

Jeffrey Epstein’s former lawyer Alan Dershowitz has claimed that Prince Andrew made a ‘terrible mistake’ by paying millions to settle a civil sexual assault case with Virginia Giuffre and that he ‘would have won’ if it had gone to trial had come.

The age of consent in Great Britain is 16. In Florida this is 18 years and in New York 17 years.

Ms Giuffre had claimed Epstein trafficked her to Dershowitz between 2000 and 2002, but he denied her claim.

In 2022, she withdrew the accusation, saying she was “very young” and in a “very stressful and traumatic environment” when she was around Epstein, leading her to misidentify Mr Dershowitz.

Ms. Giuffre dropped a defamation lawsuit she filed against Mr. Dershowitz in 2019 without making any financial payments to either party.

It comes amid claims in the latest batch of unsealed court documents that Andrew was among a string of public figures secretly recorded having sex by Epstein.

Hermoso filed a criminal complaint against Rubiales on September 6, and two days later, prosecutors filed a lawsuit against him for assault and coercion.

The alleged coercive act was related to Rubiales pressuring Hermoso to speak out in his defense after he was criticized for his behavior.

During her three-hour court appearance on Tuesday, Hermoso confirmed the same version of events she previously told prosecutors, stating that the kiss was “unexpected and not consensual at any time,” according to Marca.

As she left the court, Hermoso told the media, “Everything went well. I wanted to wish you a happy new year. Everything is in the hands of justice.
