Prince William found out his wife Kate had cancer before he pulled out of attending King Constantine of Greece’s memorial service.

The Prince of Wales’s absence from the St George’s Chapel event at Windsor Castle on February 27 had raised eyebrows, but tonight’s revelation about the princess’s health has shed new light on why he stayed away.

Kate had only just been diagnosed with cancer ahead of beginning chemotherapy, it was revealed tonight – after Buckingham Palace had initially said the previous month her condition was non-cancerous.

Royal aides are now expected to rally around William all the more as he steps back from frontline duties and looks after the couple’s children as his wife recuperates.

The prince has already been adjusting his royal duties to devote even more time to his family after Kate was first admitted to the London Clinic in January.

The couple have both been dedicated to doing their fair share of the school run each morning and afternoon since their three children began attending £24,000-a-year Lambrook School near Ascot in Berkshire in September 2022.

The co-ed institution is not far from the family’s Frogmore Cottage home on the Windsor estate – and is also convenient for visits by the princess’s parents.

Carole and Michael Middleton live just 33 miles away in Bucklebury, Berkshire, and the strong mother-daughter bond has been a key feature of troubled recent months.

Kate’s siblings Pippa, 40, and James, 36, are also close at hand in Bucklebury.

William’s decision not to attend the memorial service for King Constantine came as a surprise at the time, with the reason described as ‘personal reasons’.

Also missing was his father King Charles, himself receiving treatment for cancer.

Queen Camilla was instead the most senior member of the Royal Family in attendance, with William’s uncle Prince Andrew also enjoying a prominent role as he led fellow royals on foot to the service.

Constantine was the godfather of William, who is said to have called the Greek royal family to apologise for not being there.

The Prince was due to read from Revelation 21:1-7, a popular reading for funerals that begins ‘Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth’.

He had cleared his diary of official duties to help support Kate’s recovery, although did visit a homelessness charity’s base in Sheffield on Tuesday this week.

The couple were seen being driven from Windsor on March 11, although only William attended that afternoon’s Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in central London while Kate continued on to a private appointment elsewhere.

Their children Prince George, 10, eight-year-old Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, five, all attend Lambrook School which starts its summer term on April 17.

Royal experts have said the parents chose Lambrook because they wanted their children to have a ‘different kind of schooling’ to their own.

George and Charlotte were previously pupils at Thomas’s Battersea while Louis attended Willcocks Nursery in Kensington, both schools in London.

William and Kate were pictured strolling into Lambrook School’s grounds hand-in-hand with their children for their first day there in September 2022.

They are believed to have been sharing ‘school run’ duties but William has now been taking on more responsibilities – as have Kate’s parents Carole, 69, and Michael, 74.

Earlier this month Carole was snapped at the wheel of a car driving her daughter – pictured for the first time in two months – around Windsor Castle.

The photos were published by US gossip website TMZ but not in the UK after Kensington Palace appealed for her to be able to recuperate in private.

Insiders who knew the Middleton children at school have said her family was renowned for ‘doing everything to the very highest of standards’.

A fellow parent told Tatler recently: ‘There were huge picnics on sports days, the smartest tennis rackets — that kind of thing.

‘It made the rest of us all feel rather hopeless. Ultimately, Carole has played a blinder as a mother – not only are all of her children unfairly good-looking, they are also famously charming.

‘Always the first to write a thank-you letter, they dance all night and are still the first up in the morning, plumping cushions and washing up.’

Two years ago, Carole and Michael Middleton made a sombre appearance as they joined senior members of the Royal Family for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s committal service.

Months later, they were seen in high spirits as they arrived at Westminster Abbey for the coronation of King Charles III – arriving alongside their children Pippa and James.

Kate’s mother has also always been on hand to support Kate for her annual ‘Together At Christmas’ Carol Service – a known passion project of the princess’s.

Other get-togethers have seen the mother and daughter huddled up alongside each other at Royal Ascot – and in summer 2022, Kate was seen blowing her parents a kiss as the family attended Wimbledon.

Kate, William and their children have their main home as four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor grounds in Berkshire, with no live-in staff although they do have a nanny, housekeeper and security team living nearby.

The Grade II listed property is owned by the Crown Estate and the couple are said to be paying ‘market rent’.

Lambrook School has just 610 boys and girls aged three to 13 and is mixed so all three children can attend together, cutting down on school runs and security teams.

It offers boarding but George, Charlotte and Louis have all been day pupils there.

The Good Schools Guide says the prep school has a ‘heart of gold’ and offers pupils ‘total freedom to explore, provided you’ve got your wellies on’.

It boasts of ‘first-class teaching and superb facilities’ including a 25-metre swimming pool, a nine-hole golf course, an Astroturf, squash court and a new £6million Queen’s Building for ICT and academic learning.

The prospectus quotes one parent calling it ‘the most magical place for our children to spend time, and they can often be seen rosy-cheeked and perfecting handstands, throwing balls or racing to the three stumps’.

School sources have described William and Kate as being ‘like a normal mum and dad’ who throw themselves into events at Lambrook.

Hello! magazine reported the royal couple take part in all the important school activities, including ‘queueing for the tombola’ in a recent fundraising drive.

The future King and Queen are described as discreetly slipping into events such as carol concerts, fitting occasions around their busy schedules.

A mother accidentally broadcast herself naked in the shower at a funeral while other mourners watched the service via a Zoom livestream.

The service was for a popular father of three after he died following a courageous battle with cancer.

A live stream was organized so that people who could not attend the service in Barnet, North London, could watch from home.

The 48-year-old businesswoman and personal trainer had opened a Zoom link but didn’t realize her camera was on.

When the stream went live, the mother-of-two’s full shower regimen was shown to other stunned mourners watching at home, although thankfully none of those in the church could see her screen.

Footage of the humiliating moment has since gone viral after being heavily shared on WhatsApp.

One mourner wrote at the funeral: ‘There was a bird in the shower.

‘She jumped up at the wake… ten minutes later she was crying her eyes out.’

The mourner also said the woman “showed up at the wake with no idea what had happened.”

Adding: ‘People could zoom in and appear on the live screen.

‘A bird logged in and didn’t realize her camera was on and she was in the shower. Live for the funeral.”

The moment was also picked up by Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O.

The nation’s largest energy providers are ranked from best to worst for customer satisfaction.

Consumer Champion Which one? energy companies are rated on customer service and whether they provide quick and effective solutions to customer problems.

1

Energy companies are ranked from best to worst

New analysis from the Consumer Champion shows that Scottish Power, Ovo Energy and British Gas were the worst offenders.

Afterwards of this. Which? calls on the three suppliers to urgently improve their customer service.

Over the past six months, thousands of consumers have contacted Which? to share their experiences of poor customer service in sectors such as energy, financial services, telecoms and travel since the end of the pandemic.

According to Which?’s customer service survey from 2023, energy is currently the worst performing sector in terms of customer service.

In Which?’s customer service survey of 2023, a quarter (25%) said they were dissatisfied with their most recent customer service experience with their energy supplier, the highest score in the energy, financial services, retail and telecoms sectors.

Where is your energy company located?

Scottish Power finished bottom, receiving a satisfaction score of -13 out of a possible +100 for how long it took to get in touch with a person who could help, and three for how long it took to get a response to a problem or question.

One customer said that after being put on hold when he tried to call his supplier about a billing issue and then speaking to an agent who couldn’t help, he had sleepless nights and anxiety about his unresolved billing issue.

Another said he feared a visit from bailiffs after Scottish Power passed him from agent to agent and failed to resolve an incorrect bill.

Ovo Energy followed closely behind with a satisfaction score of -7 for how long it took to get in touch with a person who could help and seven for how long it took to get an answer to a problem or question.

How to reduce energy costs and get help with FOUR major household bills

One customer told how he decided to switch providers after Ovo staff were “rude” and unhelpful after waiting more than 20 minutes to speak to them about a billing issue.

Another customer who was incorrectly billed for gas delivery said: “Customer service is absolutely useless.

“It takes forever to get through on the phone, and then you can spend up to an hour talking to a customer service advisor.

“They work according to a script. If the issue is complicated, it will never fit into the script.”

British Gas fared better with a satisfaction score of 16 for how long it took to get in touch with a person who could help and 23 for how long it took to get an answer to a problem or question.

But a British Gas customer told how she spent 43 hours on the phone and sent 24 emails for more than a year to resolve a billing problem.

However, the scores were still well below Octopus Energy, which performed best in fast and effective customer service – with a satisfaction score of 46 for how long it took to get in touch with a person who could help and 55 for how long it took to get an answer to a problem or question.

E.ON Next also performed relatively well, with a score of 35 for how long it took to get in touch and 25 for how long it took to get a question answered.

Which? says the findings highlight how dramatically customer service quality can vary between individual companies.

What energy bill help is available?

There are a number of different ways to get help paying your energy bills if you’re struggling to make ends meet.

If you get into debt, you can always approach your supplier to see if they can put you on a repayment plan before imposing a prepayment meter.

This means that you pay off what you owe in installments over a certain period.

If your supplier offers you a payment plan that you don’t think you can afford, contact them again to see if you can get a better deal.

Several energy companies have subsidy schemes available for customers who have difficulty paying their bills.

But the eligibility criteria varies depending on the supplier and the amount you can get depends on your financial circumstances.

For example, British Gas or Scottish Gas customers who are struggling to pay their energy bills can receive grants worth up to £1,500.

British Gas is also providing assistance through its British Gas Energy Trust and Individuals Family Fund.

You don’t have to be a British Gas customer to apply for the second fund.

EDF, E.ON, Octopus Energy and Scottish Power are all also offering grants to struggling customers.

Thousands of vulnerable households are missing out on extra help and protection by not registering with the Priority Services Register (PSR).

The service helps support vulnerable households, such as the elderly or ill, and some of the benefits include advance warning of power cuts, free gas safety checks and extra support if you’re struggling.

Contact your energy company to see if you can submit an application.

What have the energy suppliers said?

ScottishPower said it “did not acknowledge the results of this small sample survey” and said it conflicted with a larger survey previously carried out by Citizens Advice.

OVO said the findings are “not representative of the typical service levels that our teams work very hard to achieve”.

British Gas said: “We are investing more than £50 million in customer service – this includes hiring an additional 700 UK contact center agents at the end of last year and introducing longer call center opening hours.

“We are also helping our most vulnerable customers through our sector-leading £140 million customer support package.”

How can I complain about my energy supplier?

Like financial service providers, energy companies must have a complaints procedure that customers can follow.

When you file a complaint, make sure you follow up so they have the information they need to resolve the issue.

Simply explain what the problem is and what you want your supplier to do about it.

Check your energy supplier’s website for an explanation of how you can file a complaint.

Energy suppliers have eight weeks to respond and reach a decision.

If this is not the case or you are not satisfied with the answer, you can take the company to the Energy Ombudsman.

The Energy Ombudsman may be able to help you if you have a complaint about an energy or communications provider.

Before you can file your complaint with them, you must have filed a formal complaint with your provider and worked with the company to resolve it.

In addition, you must have received a so-called impasse letter, in which the provider forwards your complaint to the Energy Ombudsman.

Even if you have not received a satisfactory solution to your problem within eight weeks, you can file a complaint.

The Energy Ombudsman then bases his decision on the evidence that you and the company provide.

If you decide to accept the decision, your supplier has 28 days to comply.

The Ombudsman’s rulings are binding on the energy company.

If your supplier refuses to follow the instructions, the Ombudsman can contact Ofgem to resolve the situation. However, there is no set time frame for escalating issues to the regulator and it is not up to the customer.

If an individual chooses not to accept the Ombudsman’s final decision, he or she loses the right to the solution offer.

Customers still have the right to submit their complaint to the judge.

But remember that this can be a costly and lengthy exercise, so it’s worth thinking carefully before taking this step.

At dozens of national parks and historic sites across the United States, escaping from it all to enjoy the country’s vast open spaces has taken on a whole new meaning.

Also leave your dollars and coins.

The National Park Service continues to convert dozens of sites across the country to cash-only, drawing complaints and now a lawsuit.

As of June last year, visitors to Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park were told they could not use cash to enter the park or use its campsites. The negative reactions came quickly, with visitors expressing privacy concerns and confusion about why the US dollar would not be welcome in the US parks system. Some noted that not everyone has a credit or debit card.

“The National Parks belong to the citizens,” wrote one of dozens of people who complained about the decision the site’s Facebook page. “If we want to use legal tender, we have to do that.”

“So now RMNP becomes like Walmart’s self-checkout,” another wrote under the park’s announcement, which later stopped accepting comments and referred people to official channels.

The park service has been roll out the policy for several years. In 2019, the agency announced it would only accept credit cards, debit cards and special park passes at Pipe Spring National Monument in Arizona. Similar changes occurred at Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in Montana and then at Death Valley National Park in California, and this month National Monument Hovenweep in Colorado and National Natural Bridges Monument in Utah, without cash. (Annual passes can still be purchased with cash at many locations.)

In January, Lake Mead National Recreation Area near Las Vegas also switched to a cashless system, and the reactions on the park forum were so testy that Moderators have sent reminders to keep it family friendly.

“I don’t really see this as an improvement in customer service,” one person wrote, who said he was a former firefighter. “No, not everyone has plastic. And if they do, they may not want to be tracked everywhere. Maybe they don’t want to leave a paper trail. Maybe their card is full. Maybe they don’t want their partner to know where they are.’

And he asked: “Since when is legal tender not suitable for use in payments?”

The park service said it wanted to reduce risk and the time employees spend managing cash, and increase revenue and accountability. At the Valley of Death and Nevada parks, for example, rangers collected $22,000 in cash, which ultimately cost more than $40,000 in administrative fees when you factor in the use of an armored car and the time spent counting money and processing paperwork.

Now those complaints are the subject of a lawsuit filed March 6 in the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, alleging that the agency’s policy violates federal law that defines cash as “legal tender” and the “legal right of visitors to pay in cash” at national sites, including visitors without a bank account or card or visitors who simply prefer to pay in cash.

In addition to the park service, the director, Charles F. Sams, III, and the Department of the Interior were named as suspects. They did not respond to questions on Wednesday and Thursday.

“NPS cashless is against the law as U.S. money is not accepted as legal tender to visit the country’s treasures,” the filing said.

The lawsuit seeks a declaratory judgment.

One of the three plaintiffs, Toby Stover, a New York woman, drove to Hyde Park, New York, in January to visit the historic home of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the lawsuit said. At the gate, a man in a National Park Service uniform asked if she was there for the 3:30 p.m. tour. She said yes, but was not allowed inside after she tried to pay $10 in cash, the complaint said.

Esther van der Werf, living in California, is also considered a plaintiff. In January and February, while planning trips to Saguaro National Park, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and Tonto National Monument, all in Arizona, Ms. van der Werf was told she could not pay in cash, the lawsuit said. And a Georgia woman who is also a plaintiff, Elizabeth Dasburg, was told she could not use cash to enter Georgia’s Fort Pulaski National Monument, the lawsuit said.

The plaintiffs’ attorney, Ray L. Flores, II, said in an emailed response to questions that the legal action is being financially supported by the Children’s Health Defense, a nonprofit organization founded by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who has taken legal action against the pandemic. mandates and was criticized for spreading misinformation about Covid-19 vaccines.

Mr. Flores said in the email that cashless policies were “an important part – if not the linchpin – of the surveillance state.” He said he had advised the complainants not to respond to interview requests.

The group’s general counsel, Kim Mack Rosenberg, said the organization supported the action “to push back against the towards a cashless society And central bank digital currency.”

According to the Federal Reserve, there is no federal statute that says a private business, person, or organization must accept currency or coins.

THOUSANDS of supermarket customers have been given free £10 vouchers after a service disruption.

Sainsbury’s was hit by a major technical problem this weekend, canceling most online deliveries on Saturday.

Sainsbuy’s released a statement saying the problem was due to an overnight software update

Customers could not pay for their groceries at the till and company bosses admitted that most online stores would not be delivered.

Some customers had to leave their shopping behind on Saturday as several stores stopped accepting card payments altogether in the afternoon.

The problem was resolved late on Saturday afternoon and Sainsbury’s issued a statement saying the problems were due to an overnight software update.

The supermarket has since apologized to its customers affected by the outage and issued a £10 voucher for any inconvenience.

A message was posted on the official Sainsbury’s Twitter account on Sunday saying: “Good morning, sorry you were affected by this issue yesterday.

“Any refunds due will be returned to your bank account within the next 3-5 business days.

“The £10 voucher is for the inconvenience caused by the disruption.”

Customers have taken to social media to let others know they have received their vouchers.

One person said: “After the Sainsbury’s debacle yesterday I got a £10 voucher which is nice.”

Another commented: “I got my £10 voucher this morning, thanks Sainsbury’s.

This is how you find the best bargains in the supermarket

While a third said: “I’ve received my voucher, unfortunately I’m shopping now.”

The €10 voucher has been added to all online grocery customer accounts.

Other chaos in the supermarket

Sainsbury’s wasn’t the only supermarket to experience technical problems this weekend.

Just hours after Sainsbury’s reported the problems, Tesco was also forced to cancel some of its home deliveries due to technical problems.

Tesco did not specify how many customers or which regions were affected.

But a Tesco spokesperson said at the time: “We are working to resolve a technical issue which has forced us to cancel a number of online orders due for delivery today.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience.”

The technical issues are not only impacting home delivery, but are also impacting shoppers’ ability to visit stories for click-and-collect orders.

Customers were notified via an email that read: “Hi. We’re really sorry, but we can’t deliver your groceries today due to an issue with our system.

“You were not charged for the order.

“If you would like to reschedule your order, please use our website or the Tesco app.”

Meanwhile, Tesco has been forced to make a major change to its Clubcard promotions after a huge row with Lidl.

The discounter scored a victory over its use of a yellow circle logo to highlight Tesco’s Clubcard prizes in-store.

The supermarket lost its appeal against a ruling that it infringed the German discounter’s trademark due to the use of a yellow circle on a blue background.

Lidl uses a yellow circle in its main logo, while Tesco uses a yellow circle logo to promote its Clubcard prize promotion.

Tesco has said it will honor the ruling and update its Clubcard Price logo in the coming weeks.

While the look of the promotions will change, the deals will remain the same.

Lidl sued Tesco in 2020, shortly after it started using the yellow circle.

A COUPLE have told how their ‘dream has been shattered’ after their service charges were increased by £552 a MONTH.

Patrick Duffy, 31, and his partner Lewis Ryan, 40, say they would never have met the affordability criteria for their two-bedroom apartment in London if they had known the fee would rise so much.

1

Lewis Ryan, 40, told the BBC that his service costs have become ‘crippling’Credit: BBC

The pair told it BBC how they bought their home in 2017 under a shared ownership system from housing association One Housing.

The shared ownership system allows first-time buyers to buy with a lower deposit than a normal purchase.

You are co-owner of your home with a housing association, you buy part of the home and then pay rent on the rest.

Patrick and Lewis have a mortgage on 60% of the home they own.

They then pay rent to the housing association on the remaining 40%.

They also pay monthly service costs.

Service charges are paid by the leaseholder for the services provided to the leaseholder or landlord of the building under the lease agreement.

These costs generally cover repairs or maintenance to the property, including building insurance.

There is no limit on these costs and paying them is usually a condition of the rental agreement.

Patrick and Lewis’ service charges went from an initial £94 per month in 2017 to £515 in April 2023.

Michael Gove promises homeowners a ‘rapid’ timeline for reducing land rents before the next election

Just two weeks ago the couple were told this would rise again to a “crippling” £646 a month.

They have tried to put their apartment up for sale, but because of the service costs they say this is “undesirable”.

Patrick told the BBC: “We can’t sell our flat and we can’t afford to live in it.

“At a time when mortgage rates have risen so dramatically, it’s hit at a time when we’re all quite vulnerable. The whole thing is very intimidating.”

Lewis, who works for the NHS, started working at weekends to keep up with rising costs, but had to stop when it started to take a toll on his health.

The couple now has to use credit cards to pay for their groceries while trying to balance their mortgage, rent and service charges.

A spokesperson for One Housing told The Sun: “We sympathize with Mr Duffy and his partner’s concerns about the service charges at their home and would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.

“One Housing is the landlord of properties where Mr Duffy and his partner live, but we do not own the building.

“The manager charges us the costs of providing a variety of services including utilities, communal cleaning, security, concierge fees, repairs and maintenance, window cleaning, gardening etc.

“We then pass these costs on to our customers through service costs, in accordance with landlord and tenant law.”

Concerns are growing that the lack of regulation around these costs could leave homeowners with unaffordable bills and make homes difficult to sell.

Hidden costs with leasehold properties

One of the biggest mistakes buyers make when purchasing a house is choosing a leasehold property without understanding the additional costs or rules surrounding it.

They are common and cannot always be avoided, but it is important to know what you are getting into.

If you have a leasehold on a property, this means that you have the right to live in it for a certain period of time.

In Great Britain the standard term is 125 years, but this can be shorter or shorter.

Unless you renew it, ownership of the property reverts to the landlord when it expires, known as the freeholder.

It is important to consider how long the leasehold will last before purchasing it. The longer buyers leave the leasehold, the more money they stand to lose.

The cost of renewing a lease varies enormously, from as little as £1,000 to £10,000.

Another problem when buying a leasehold property can arise if you live in a block.

If you are in an apartment building, someone owns the entire property of that block.

That owner is responsible for maintaining the condition of those parts of the building that may not be connected to your property, such as the roof.

For example, if it sustains damage, you as a leaseholder still have to pay the service costs.

That is why it is important not only to look at the interior and parts of the leasehold during the valuation.

It comes at a time when the government wants to introduce a bill on leasehold reform.

The Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill aims to make it cheaper and easier for more leaseholders in England and Wales to extend their lease, buy their property and take over the management of their building.

It would also regulate service charges and property management costs for the estimated five million people who own their properties in Britain as leasehold properties.

MPs approved the bill on third reading, meaning it will now be further debated by the House of Lords

What is a leasehold property?

If you have a leasehold on a property, this means that you have the right to live in it for a certain period of time.

In Great Britain the standard term is 125 years, but this can be shorter or shorter.

Unless you renew it, ownership of the property reverts to the landlord when it expires, known as the freeholder.

Service charges are paid by the leaseholder for the services provided under the lease.

It is different from leasehold, which is a fee that is imposed as a condition of your lease for the land on which your house is located.

What are service costs?

Service costs are owed by the leaseholder to the landlord for the services he must provide under the lease agreement.

This includes maintenance and repairs, insurance and management costs.

The amount usually varies from year to year, depending on the costs incurred by the landlord.

These are usually divided between leaseholders according to the lease terms.

The rental contract states when the service costs are due, but this can be annually, twice a year or quarterly.

Are there service charge limits?

The service costs can be increased or decreased indefinitely, according to the Leasehold Advisory Service.

But the landlord can only recover reasonable costs.

This means that you have the right to apply to the tribunal to challenge any service charges that you consider unreasonable.

The Leasehold Advice Service advises potential buyers to find out what the current costs are, and what they are likely to be in the future.

It says a lawyer will normally ask the seller for this information.

What to do if you think you have been charged incorrectly

Any costs should be stated in your leasehold agreement and you should be aware of any additional costs before purchasing the leasehold property.

For any additional costs, your owner or landlord must inform you well in advance of the costs.

Although the owner is not obliged to find the cheapest contractor or construction work, he is responsible for ensuring that the costs incurred are reasonable.

According to Lawcomm Solicitors, you have the right to request invoices showing costs incurred during a service charge period.

Doing this will help you assess whether you are getting your money’s worth.

Ultimately, if you are not satisfied with the fees charged, you can apply to the First Tier Tribunal to determine their reasonableness.

British streaming app BritBox has just received its final death knell, as Amazon has revealed when it will disappear from Prime Video.

In early February, the UK’s biggest broadcasters confirmed that BritBox, which launched in 2019, would close.

Viewers had hoped it would stay alive in some form through Prime Video, where viewers could combine their subscriptions to both streaming services.

However, ITV quickly quashed those dreams earlier this month.

Last week, Amazon removed BritBox’s “Subscribe” button, another sign of the app’s impending retirement.

Now Amazon has revealed that viewers watching BritBox through Prime will lose streaming access days earlier than everyone else.

The tech giant has said that from April 27, 2024, BritBox will no longer be available on Prime Video channels – even for existing subscribers.

BritBox will then stop as an independent service on April 30.

From that date, BritBox content will only be available via ITVX or BBC iPlayer.

How to cancel a BritBox subscription to Prime

Some BritBox fans who subscribe through Amazon Prime have encountered problems canceling their membership.

They say they don’t know how to cancel without also canceling their Prime Video subscription.

So we’re here to clear up the confusion.

BritBox via Prime is a video channel subscription – and it’s not the only one.

You can cancel video channel subscriptions without cancel your Prime Video.

Simply log into your Amazon account and go to Manage your Prime Video channels.

Once you’re there, select Prime Video Channels and find the subscription you want to cancel.

Then select Cancel Channel and confirm – it’s that simple!

Amazon adds: “If you are offered a self-service refund and choose to accept it, your cancellation will take effect immediately.

“Otherwise, your subscription end date will be displayed on the confirmation screen.”

Amazon has more information about Prime Video Channel subscriptions on a help page here.

Streamlining efforts

ITV CEO Carolyn McCall said the move to ax standalone app BritBox was part of ITV’s plans to streamline its services.

“In 2024, the BritBox UK service on Amazon Prime Video Channels and the BritBox UK standalone app will close as we further simplify our offering,” she said.

Lower costs on your favorite streaming services!

“This will consolidate all our subscribers under one ITVX Premium brand and give us full ownership of the subscriber base.

“The closure of these services is expected to impact subscriber numbers and subscription revenues in 2024.”

It comes just days after ITV quietly axed its Catchup channel on Prime Video.

Formerly known as ITV Hub+, the channel allowed Prime Video viewers to avoid ads at a lower cost.

For ad haters, the Prime Video version was cheaper than a full ITVX Premium subscription – and gave access to more content.

Now it seems all signs point to the ITVX app becoming the broadcaster’s only place to catch up on missed shows.

How can I watch ITVX?

ITV is currently not available on some older TVs.

A range of Humax Freeview and Freesat boxes, as well as certain models of Samsung Smart TVs, cannot support the new ITVX app.

ITVX also does not work on some older iPhones and iPads.

For viewers with older television boxes, ITV Catchup on Prime Video was the only way to watch ITV without an Amazon Fire Stick or Google Chromecast.

ITV has more information on where you can watch ITVX here.

Locals who use Tesco Mobile will now have to travel over ten miles to the telephone provider’s kiosk in Ashford.

Last month there was a sign that read: ‘This Telephone Shop closes on Sunday March 17th.

‘The nearest phone shop is Ashford Park Farm.’

Local residents shared on Facebook their disappointment upon hearing the news.

One user said: “That’s a shame. I bought my phone there last year.”

“Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.”

“It’s a shame for the staff who work there,” said another.

A third user exclaimed: “Oh no.”

“I often drop by to solve a problem, oh dear,” someone else added.

Tesco shoppers left humiliated at checkout after using a fake £9.50 voucher that added a sex toy to their shopping cart

A fourth user said: “I used it to get a phone last month and found the staff helpful.”

A spokesperson for Tesco Mobile said: “Following an extensive review, we have made the difficult decision to close Tenterden Phone Shop due to low customer demand.”

“We will continue to serve the local community through our Ashford Park Farm Phone Shop, which remains open and ready to help.”

Tesco has already gone through a difficult period in recent months.

The retailer sold its banking business to Barclays for £600m after running it for 27 years.

Barclays will give Tesco an annual income for using its brand.

We’ve also seen quite a few Tesco store closures in recent weeks.

Tesco confirmed the closure of two stores in Chippenham and Armthorpe.

The Chippenham store has been a key part of the Emery Gate shopping center since 2008, when it signed a 15-year lease on the largest premises in the building.

What happens to the main street?

Several other retailers have struggled to make ends meet in recent years, especially since the pandemic.

Energy costs have risen and more consumers than ever are choosing to order online instead of going to the store.

This leaves some retailers struggling with budgets and having no choice but to close stores to cut costs.

Struggling fashion brand Superdry has said it is exploring various “cost-cutting options” as it considers a major restructuring including store closures and job cuts.

Boots revealed it would close 300 stores over the next year as part of plans to develop its brand.

The Body Shop is currently entering administration and has announced plans to close half of its 198 stores, seven of which were closed last week.

WHSmith told The Sun it has no plans to open any more high street stores as it wants to focus on the travel side of its business.

Major banks have also announced the closure of several branches.

Barclays will begin pulling down the shutters at fourteen locations in England, three in Wales and three in Scotland from April.

Even thrift stores are having a hard time Oxfam confirmed last year that it would close eight of its UK stores.

Here you can stay informed about all major store closures this month.
