General Motors said Friday it had stopped sharing details of how people drove their cars with two data brokers that created risk profiles for the insurance industry.

The decision followed a New York Times report this month that GM had been sharing data on drivers’ mileage, braking, acceleration and speed with the insurance industry for years. The drivers were enrolled — some unknowingly, they said — in OnStar Smart Driver, a feature in GM’s Internet-connected cars that collected data about how the car was driven and promised feedback and digital badges for good driving behavior.

Some drivers said their insurance rates increased as a result of the data collected, which GM shared with two brokers, LexisNexis Risk Solutions and Verisk. The companies then sold the data to insurance companies.

As of Wednesday, “OnStar Smart Driver customer data is no longer shared with LexisNexis or Verisk,” GM spokeswoman Malorie Lucich said in an emailed statement. “Customer trust is a priority for us and we are actively reviewing our privacy processes and policies.”

Romeo Chicco, a Florida man whose insurance rates nearly doubled after his Cadillac collected his driving records, filed a complaint this month seeking class-action status against GM, OnStar and LexisNexis.

An internal document reviewed by The Times found that more than eight million vehicles were included in Smart Driver as of 2022. An employee familiar with the program said the company’s annual revenue from Smart Driver was in the low millions of dollars.

A federal court on Friday temporarily halted new Securities Exchange Commission rules requiring publicly traded companies to make more disclosures about the business risks they face from climate change. They sided with two oil and gas companies who criticized the requirements as costly and arbitrary.

Approved by the SEC this month, the rules require some publicly traded companies to disclose their climate risks, and how much greenhouse gas emissions they produce. Industry groups and their political allies have filed numerous lawsuits challenging the regulations.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which represents a broad cross-section of industries, filed suit this week in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit seeking to halt the rules, calling them unconstitutional. Ten Republican-led states have also filed suit to block the rules.

The emergency reprieve granted Friday by Fifth Circuit judges came in a case brought by two fracking companies, Liberty Energy and Nomad Proppant Services. “There is no clear authority for the SEC to effectively regulate the controversial issue of climate change,” the two companies wrote in their petition. They were “arbitrary and capricious,” the two companies said, and violated the First Amendment, which protects free speech, by “effectively mandating discussions about climate change.”

Moreover, the rules would cost companies “irreparable harm in the form of irreparable compliance costs,” they said.

Climate disasters, including extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods and droughts, are taking an increasing toll on both people and businesses around the world. In 2023, the United States experienced a record 28 weather and climate disasters, each costing at least $1 billion. This was reported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said last year that losses could arise from climate change “cascade through the financial system.”

Environmental groups have also challenged the rules, saying the SEC has not gone far enough in protecting investors.

“As climate impacts like wildfires, floods and drought disrupt every facet of the U.S. economy, the SEC has chosen to bury its head in the sand rather than require companies to demonstrate the full climate risks they pose,” says Hana Vizcarra, an attorney at Earthjustice, which along with the Sierra Club and other environmental groups also sued the SEC

The SEC had initially proposed that large companies would be required to disclose planet-warming emissions not only from their own operations, but also from the emissions produced in a company’s so-called “value chain” – a term that encompasses everything everything from the parts or services purchased from other suppliers to how people who use the products ultimately dispose of them.

But after objections from companies, the SEC dropped that requirement and, under the final rules, only required the largest companies to report their direct emissions, and only if they determined the emissions would impact their bottom line. These rules gave companies a lot of leeway and exempted thousands of smaller companies. But some companies, including the fracking companies that won the court’s stay, still believed they went too far.

The Fifth Circuit granted the emergency stay over objections from the SEC, which had argued that the request was premature. Companies would not be required to provide climate information before March 2026.

In her videoMeg Diem (@megdiem) explained that her previous attitude towards her 32DD cups was to ‘knock them down to hide them’.

However, during the TikToker’s recent shopping trip, she found a bra that fit her bust well.

“So because of the shape and where they sit, I now look best in balconette bras,” she explained.

Meg modeled a sample of the style for her followers and pointed out its flattering features.

“It has a very stretchy material, it’s very comfortable because it’s lace,” she said.

“Balconette bras are very flat, so some people with lower and more outward-facing breasts may fit a little better in these bras, and that happened to be the case for me.”

She explained that she had leakage in the more traditional triangular shape.

Meg showed her followers a second bra, which she also praised for its support.

“I really like this one because it’s more of a casual sports bra type,” she said.

She pointed out that the bralette also had adjustable straps, making it ideal for her comfort.

Her followers shared their thoughts on the bras in the comments section.

“This type of bra makes my boobs look amazing,” one TikTok user wrote.

“Give me a sleek T-shirt bra in the shape of a balconette!” said another viewer.

“Aerie has a plain balconette style and they are so comfortable!” a third person suggested.

DRI officials, who are at the forefront of the fight against smuggling and human trafficking across international borders, have been given broad powers to tackle domestic illegal wildlife trade.

Bangalore: After arresting seven suspects from the outskirts of Bengaluru, Directorate of Revenue (DRI) officials have foiled a syndicated attempt to illegally sell elephant tusks. Three suspects were arrested in an autorickshaw on Wednesday and a large bag containing ivory tusks was found during their interrogation. The Ministry of Finance said in a statement that extra rapid action resulted in the arrest of four accomplices who helped facilitate the illegal trade.

The seven individuals arrested in connection with this illegal trade are currently in custody pending further legal proceedings. Their arrest marks an important step forward in the fight against illegal wildlife trafficking and preserving the delicate balance of ecosystems.

Post-arrest revelations

The total weight of 6.8 kg of the two elephant tusks was found and seized in accordance with Section 50 of the Wildlife Protection Act (WPA), 1972. The notice said the seven people have been taken into custody.

More power to protect wildlife

According to the Ministry of Finance statement, with the recent amendments to the Wildlife Protection Act coming into effect on April 1, 2023, DRI officials, who are already at the forefront of the fight against smuggling and human trafficking across international borders, have permission given enhanced powers to tackle domestic illegal wildlife trade.

DRI personnel are actively participating in efforts to intercept illegally traded wildlife products using these new facilities.

Successful operations by DRI

In the fiscal year 2023-2024 alone, six seizures of elephant tusks totaling 57.5 kg were successfully carried out by DRI units across India. The announcement further stated that DRI’s steadfast commitment to stop wildlife trafficking was further demonstrated by these operations, which were conducted in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

Need for constant vigilance

Authorities have emphasized the importance of joint efforts to reduce wildlife trafficking and protect endangered species. The successful interception of this illegal elephant tusk trading operation underlines the need for continued vigilance and strong enforcement measures to protect wildlife from exploitation.

The DRI and law enforcement agencies remain committed to combating wildlife crime and enforcing the laws that protect our natural heritage. Efforts to dismantle illegal wildlife trafficking networks are critical to conserving biodiversity and ensuring a sustainable future for all living things.

Tesla was forced to halt production at its assembly plant outside Berlin early Tuesday after someone set fire to a nearby electricity pylon, sparking a blaze that cut off electricity to the factory and the surrounding region, police said.

Brandenburg police said they responded to the fire in a power pole in a field near the Tesla factory. The building was not damaged by the fire, but it did cause power outages in the central and wider region, where around 60,000 people live.

Tesla did not respond to requests for comment, but a spokeswoman for the US carmaker confirmed to German media that production had been halted and all employees had been evacuated. According to Tesla, about 12,500 people work at the plant, but not all of them would have been present when the power went out.

By early afternoon, residents reported that power had been restored in some areas.

Authorities said investigators from the Brandenburg State Bureau of Criminal Investigation had begun an investigation but urged speculation about who might be behind the arson, even as social media exploded with accusations blaming environmentalists.

Since last week, several dozen protesters have camped in huts and platforms built into the branches of trees in a wooded area next to the factory Tesla built. would like to destroy to build a railway yard, warehouses and educational facilities.

Last month, 65 percent of eligible voters in Grünheide, the community surrounding the factory, cast their votes against Tesla’s expansion plans. The vote was non-binding, but local officials said they would comply by going back to the drawing board to try to find an acceptable solution.

Environmental protesters have said they fear state and local governments, which have worked to lure Tesla to the site in 2022 and celebrated the economic benefits it has brought to the region, will override citizens’ wishes.

Brandenburg’s top security official, Interior Minister Michael Stübgen, condemned the suspected arson. “If the initial findings are confirmed, this is an insidious attack on our electricity infrastructure,” Mr Stübgen said. “This will have consequences.”

Tesla’s assembly plant in Grünheide is the company’s only one in Europe. It has a capacity to build about 500,000 cars a year, but the company is keen to double that. 1 million cars a year – more than the 800,000 Volkswagen produces at its long-standing factory in Wolfsburg.

A leading Berlin daily, Tagesspiegel, said a group calling itself “Vulkangruppe” and identifying itself as linked to the anti-fascist movement had sent a letter to the newsroom claiming responsibility for the attack.

“Turn off Tesla,” the letter said. according to the paper. A group of far-left extremists trading under the same name claimed responsibility for a 2021 attack that cut power to the Tesla factory construction site. That same year, security officials in the state of Brandenburg named the group in their annual report for committing several arson attacks in Greater Berlin.

Americans will get their first look at the likely presidential rematch coming this fall as President Biden and Donald J. Trump make dueling visits to the Texas border on Thursday, a rare convergence on the campaign trail that shows how volatile and powerful a political issue immigration is. has already become the 2024 race.

For Mr. Trump, the border is a familiar backdrop and almost represents the background music of his candidacy as he warns of a nation moving out of reach and an “invasion” that he vows to stop. For Mr Biden, immigration represents a major vulnerability as border crossings reached a record high in late 2023 and images of mass migration and its consequences have become fixtures in the news.

Republicans have long had a political advantage on this issue, with the Republican Party’s advantage growing even greater recently. According to the NBC News poll at the time, Trump gained as much as 16 percentage points more confidence on immigration in the fall of 2020. That margin has more than doubled to 35 percentage points from January – the biggest advantage either Mr Biden or Mr Trump had on any of the nine issues tested.

But Biden allies believe that the recent decision by Republican congressional leaders — at Mr. Trump’s urging — to abandon a potential bipartisan border deal has given the party a rare opening to reduce that deficit. The package would have made asylum claims more difficult, expanded detention capacity, expanded fentanyl screening and paid for more border guards.

Democrats hope they can draw attention to the package’s failure and contrast Biden’s push for bipartisanship with Trump’s belligerence.

“Donald Trump doesn’t want a solution,” Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a top Biden surrogate, said in a phone call arranged by the Biden campaign before the trip to Texas. “He wants a campaign slogan.”

Mr. Biden himself has said he would like to implement stricter policies made possible by the legislation. “If that bill were the law today, I would close the border now,” he said last month. Republicans in Congress have called on Mr. Biden to do this through executive powers.

The more immediate goal for Democrats is for Republicans to take at least some of the blame for a border situation that even Mr. Biden himself described as “in chaos” at a fundraiser in California last week. Border crossings set a monthly record from almost 250,000 in December.

Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump are visiting border towns in Texas, hundreds of miles apart. Mr. Biden is headed to the Brownsville region and Mr. Trump will be in Eagle Pass, where Greg Abbott, the Republican governor, has clashed with federal officials over border security measures. Mr. Trump will later join Fox News host Sean Hannity in Eagle Pass for a program airing Thursday evening.

Mr. Trump was the first to announce his trip and Mr. Biden followed, although the president said Monday he did not know his predecessor would be there. “What I didn’t know is that my good friend is apparently going,” he said.

Biden is not expected to announce any new actions on Thursday, instead blaming Republicans in Congress — and Trump — for the failed border package.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw, Republican of Texas, said in an interview that Democrats are gravely mistaken “if they think the collapse of this one deal will somehow change the entire paradigm of immigration voting.”

“Two things can be true at the same time: Republicans need to get their shit together, he said, using a word more colorful than stuff, and change the laws that need to be changed. And it is also true that the root of the problem is Biden’s policies.”

Mr. Crenshaw pointed to the softer actions and stance Mr. Biden took when he took office, including rolling back some of Trump’s executive orders. “It just feels opportunistic unless he makes a big announcement,” he said of a Biden border visit.

For Mr. Trump, the flow of migrants across the border has been a haunting issue from his first day as a presidential candidate in 2015, when he accused Mexico of sending drugs, criminals and rapists across the border into America.

More recently, Trump has targeted a 26-year-old immigrant from Venezuela who was arrested in Georgia for the murder of Laken Riley, a nursing student. She was found dead on a forest path, and her death has become the latest flashpoint over crime and immigration.

The suspect, who Mr. Trump has called a “savage monster,” had previously been arrested by Border Patrol in September 2022 for illegal crossing and was released with temporary permission to remain. In August, he was arrested again in New York City. Mr Trump has used the case to renew his call for the “largest deportation operation” in history.

Trump’s rhetoric on immigration was especially dark. He has said that those who enter the country illegally are “poisoning the blood of the nation.” The phrase was widely criticized, partly for its echoes of the language of twentieth-century autocrats, but was well received by the Republican primaries. CBS survey in January, it emerged that 82 percent of Republicans agreed with the idea.

Interviews with voters in the early primaries and public polling show that immigration is a critically important issue for Republicans. In South Carolina, this was considered the most important issue for 36 percent of voters – even higher than the economy. It was a close second in Iowa and New Hampshire, according to exit and entry polls.

After the 2022 midterm elections, Democratic strategists working on House races said internal research showed it was important for Democrats to directly address vulnerable areas — at the time that was inflation and the economy — to show voters that they empathize. Now, they said, the same approach should apply to immigration.

The recent special election for a House of Representatives seat near New York City was a test case, as internal Republican polls showed that 45 percent of voters viewed immigration as the most important issue — and the Democrat still won. However, there were plenty of extenuating circumstances. The reason the seat was open at all stemmed from the historic expulsion of a scandal-plagued Republican former congressman, George Santos.

Rep. Veronica Escobar, a Democrat who represents El Paso and is also national co-chair of Biden’s reelection campaign, said in an interview that it was clear that immigration would be “absolutely a very powerful political issue” in 2024.

“I hope the American public sees that it is Republicans who refused to find solutions,” she said.

The position of Ms. Escobar, who is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, highlights the high tightrope Mr. Biden must walk on this issue in order not to alienate the Democratic base. Ms. Escobar herself opposed the border package, saying it gave away too much to Republicans.

Kyle Richards showed off the fun and youthful side of her fashion sense when she headed to the CBS studios in New York City for a guest appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

The reality star, who was promoting the season 13 finale of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, was spotted leaving the Midtown Manhattan high-rise in skin-tight black pants that flared from the knees down.

She also wore a figure-hugging black top, which highlighted her ample cleavage, along with a cropped Area pink blazer with embroidered butterflies on each side.

Keeping with the sparkling theme, the Hollywood, California native also carried a black Oscar de la Renta Satchel and Crossbody bag, complete with a silver chain-style strap and an embroidered flower on the front.

To complete her overall look, Richards also wore a pair of shiny black pumps and large frame sunglasses as she styled her brunette locks long, reaching well past her shoulders with soft waves and a center parting.

After flashing another smile and a wave, Richards continued through the busy streets of New York City to her next destination.

It comes a day after Kyle and her rumored lover Morgan Wade, 29, put on a cozy display during Watch What Happens Live.

The country singer was spotted fondling Kyle as they posed for photos following her interview with Andy Cohen.

This week, Richards relived her divorce from estranged husband Mauricio Umansky all over again with the news airing during the RHOBH season finale.

The couple, who have been married since 1996, decided to split in July, the time frame that just aired last Wednesday on Bravo.

Among the revelations in the episode’s aftermath: Richards’ admission that she and Umansky are still living together in their San Fernando Valley home, seven months after they decided to split; although they have their own individual space.

‘The current status is that we live under the same roof. It feels so funny to talk about this,” Richards said Wednesday during an appearance on Today with Hoda and Jenna. ‘We live under the same roof in different rooms. We are fortunate to have other homes. He comes and goes, and when we’re all there, it’s like… when he comes to eat there, great!’

In recent years, the couple enjoyed spending a lot of time at their home in Aspen, Colorado, especially during the Christmas holidays.

Richards, 55, claimed that she and her estranged husband, 53, still “love each other very much” and have no idea what the “future holds at this point” for their marriage.

Speaking about how their divorce came about last year, Richards told hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, “I think there were certain things that were there and we had put it on the back burner for a long time.”

Referring to their family life, she continued: “You’re pregnant and you’re breastfeeding and then it was working and juggling the kids and you kind of forget about it, you know, and it comes back to the surface. And I think it just came to a breaking point.

She added: “I’ve been through a lot. I lost my best friend. I think that changes you and makes you look at things differently,” she said, referring to her friend Lorene Shea – who died by suicide in May 2022.

Richards first met Umansky, a real estate agent, in 1994.

They married in January 1996 when the bride was four months pregnant with daughter Alexia, now 27.

The couple welcomed two more daughters to their family, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 15.

Richards also has daughter Farrah Aldjufrie, 35, who stars in the Netflix reality series Buying Beverly Hills, which she shares with her first husband Guraish Aldjufrie, who ended in divorce in 1992 after two years of marriage.

The online retailer has the spray on offer for £2.50 instead of £3.50.

This doesn't include delivery costs, so it may be cheaper to pick up this bottle from a weekly shop.

If you can't get your hands on this spray, there are a few others on the market that might be worth a try.

B&M is selling the Astonish Mold & Mildew Blaster for £1.19, which claims to effectively remove mold and mildew within minutes and kill 99.9% of bacteria.

B&M also sells the Ronseal 3-in-1 mold killer, but it is slightly more expensive at £6.99.

How can I save money at B&M?

The B&M barcode scanner app allows you to discover discounted items before the staff has even marked them down.

The scanner is located in the B&M Stores mobile app, which can be downloaded for free to your smartphone.

Shoppers can download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Once you download the app, the “scan” feature allows you to scan barcodes of any item in the store to see if an item has been reduced in size.

Bargain hunters say some items are being offered for £1, 50p or even 10p through the app.

Shoppers should also look for products with a white discount sticker on them.

This means that a certain amount is deducted from the price stated on the label.

At the end of the season it is cheaper to buy products.

Also be friendly to the staff, they can tell you when the sale starts, or if there are any bargains – so you get the best stuff.

Cheaper ways to tackle the problem

Mold is often caused by excess moisture in an enclosed space, so there are things you can do to prevent it from forming.

One of the easiest ways to prevent mold buildup is to open your windows every day to let in fresh air and keep the doors open between rooms.

Ensuring that air circulates continuously throughout your home will reduce condensation so mold cannot grow.

You should also open the cabinet doors regularly to let in fresh air and ensure mold isn't growing in the cabinet.

Other things that can help include not letting your clothes dry on radiators and always cooking with ventilation.

What to do in extreme cases of mold and moisture

In extreme cases of moisture and mold, it is best to keep windows open to allow airflow. Consider using an anti-fungal treatment to address the problem.

You can call in an expert and if you are renting, talk to your landlord to resolve the problem.

Every morning after waking up and before dinner, Annie makes homemade celery juice and drinks it.

She believes it's important to drink it on an empty stomach to ensure you reap the benefits of the vegetable juice.

Since starting her day with celery juice, Annie says it's “one of the best things” she's ever done for her health.

Celery juice is packed with antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation, brighten skin, stimulate hair growth, stabilize mood and reduce memory loss.

The vegetable was initially used as a medicine in treatments for toothache, insomnia, high blood pressure, anxiety, arthritis, rheumatism and to purify the blood.

And before that, the ancient Romans used celery as an aphrodisiac.

Annie, who has been vegan for nine years, says her skin has “never been clearer” since drinking the juice daily.

She uses a blender and adds a little water with the ingredients before straining it through a colander.

Anti-aging

Annie says, “Drinking celery juice every morning on an empty stomach helps to naturally increase collagen and smooth skin.”

Celery is rich in a plant compound called phthalide, which relaxes the walls of your blood vessels, increasing blood flow and lowering your blood pressure.

Strengthened liver

Annie adds, “Celery juice flushes toxins from your liver and helps restore your central nervous system.

“Celery juice ensures that your body quickly flushes out bad bacteria in the intestines.

“You may notice bloating or loose stools at first. Start with a small amount and increase gradually.”

Annie emphasizes the importance of drinking the celery juice only on an empty stomach, being careful not to mix other ingredients.

She adds: “Don't even add a squeeze of lemon or it won't work as it should.”

Fresh celery can be bought for as little as 50 cents at fruit and vegetable markets, as well as in supermarkets.

Proponents believe that drinking celery juice on an empty stomach can detoxify the body and promote weight loss.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow's wellness and lifestyle brand Goop recommends that people wait 15 minutes after drinking celery juice before consuming anything else.

Goop's website states: “Celery juice is a medicinal drink, not a high-calorie drink, so you still need breakfast afterward to current you all morning long.

“For even greater benefits or if you are suffering from a chronic illness or symptom, consider drinking twenty-four to thirty-two ounces of pure celery juice per day.”

The website recommends drinking it all at once on an empty stomach in the morning or dividing it into two servings.

What are the best anti-aging foods

  • Blueberries: Dr. Paulvin's main food for longevity is none other than the humble blueberry.
Writing for CNBChe said the small purple fruit was filled with vitamins and antioxidants that protect your body like armor against infections, but was also tasty and low in calories.
According to the longevity researcher, blueberries have a powerful anti-aging effect because they are rich in antioxidants called anthocyanins.
These can help keep cells healthy and prevent them from becoming damaged, while also being involved in processes that repair DNA.
  • Tomatoes: According to Sun nutritionist Amanda Ursell, eating tomatoes can help protect our skin from aging and fight wrinkles from within.
That's because this salad staple—alongside vegetables like spinach, red peppers, carrots, and kale—is packed with antioxidant pigments called lycopene, lutein, and beta-carotene.
  • Whole grain foods: According to Amanda Ursell, the energy is released slowly, meaning they don't damage the collagen on our skin.
Foods like porridge, brown pasta and rice and sweet potatoes are great for this.
Researchers from Harvard University have also suggested that including whole grains in your diet could help you live longer, as they can help lower the risk of deadly conditions such as heart disease, colon cancer, diabetes, stroke when combined with fruit, non-starchy vegetables, nuts and unsaturated oils.
  • Notes: A handful of nuts is the favorite snack of people living in the Blue Zones, five regions around the world where people regularly reach the age of 100.
London-based nutritionist Sophie Trotman sang the praises of nuts and bolts when it comes to anti-aging.
She told Fabulous that nuts such as almonds and walnuts are all rich in vitamin E, protein and omega-3 fatty acids and contain minerals such as zinc that help with skin renewal.
  • Healthy oils: They can also help your skin look its best by maintaining its natural oil barrier, Sophie added, hydrating the skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines. Two or three servings of fish per week should be sufficient.
Another source of healthy fats is olive oil and canola oil, which can promote heart health.

It says: “If you can't manage to consume your celery juice in the morning before eating, then the next best option is to drink it fifteen to thirty minutes before or after eating anything at any time of the day .

“If you drink thirty-two ounces a day, you might want to have it in two sixteen-ounce servings.

“You can drink the first in the morning on an empty stomach before eating and the second in the late afternoon or early evening, at least fifteen to thirty minutes before you eat your next meal.”

Eastern Australia has been hit by a deluge of wet weather following a heatwave that warmed much of the country in recent days.

Former Tropical Cyclone Kirrily is moving across NSW, bringing heavy rainfall and the risk of flash flooding before heading out to sea south of Sydney on Tuesday evening.

Kirrily lingered in the outback after making landfall on the Queensland coast near Townsville in January and is now moving south-east towards Sydney, Wollongong and Canberra.

Angus Hines from the Bureau of Meteorology said a 'band of moisture, rain and cloud extends across central south-eastern NSW'

“There is a broad warning for heavy rain extending into Canberra,” Mr Hines said.

“By 6pm on Tuesday, the ex-tropical cyclone and most of its associated rain will be well over the ocean.”

The rain should ease by Tuesday evening as the low moves out to sea south of Sydney

“The southern end of the low-pressure system will see the heaviest rainfall, with 30mm to 100mm expected,” Mr Hines said.

'Canberra is right in line with the heavier rainfall totals and we could see between 50mm and 100mm of rain over the next 24 hours.'

“Sydney itself will get somewhere between 5mm and 20mm, while Wollongong may get 20mm to 30mm.”

“The heaviest falls and thunderstorms will occur along the south coast, which could also affect northeastern Victoria.”

Sydney's Warragamba Dam could overflow in the coming week after some of the heaviest rain in decades hit northwest NSW on Monday.

The outback town of Bedourie was drenched with 113mm on Monday and Tibooburra in north-west NSW received 79mm.

The deluge has led to warnings and warnings of flooding in the western interior, up to the slopes and mountain ranges.

Cyclone Kirrily made landfall on January 25 as a Category 2 storm and has since brought record-breaking rainfall to northern Queensland, the Northern Territory and parts of South Australia.

Another tropical low forming in the Coral Sea off Queensland's north coast could be the state's third cyclone in two months and will be named Lincoln if it develops.

Governor-General David Hurley visited communities in Queensland affected by rain on Monday and shared a message from King Charles.

“My wife and I are deeply concerned about the devastating impact of the recent weather events in Queensland,” Charles' post read.

“The devastating fires of late last year and the more recent tropical cyclones… have, I know, put intolerable pressure on the lives of people in many communities.”

Charles said the recent natural disasters were a test of the resilience of Queensland's people.

“We have great admiration for those brave rescue crews and all others who help protect life and defend property in difficult and often very dangerous circumstances,” he said.

“That spirit of friendship and helping those in need reflects the very best of Australian characteristics and makes us so proud of the resilience and determination of the Australian people.

“Our continued thoughts and sympathies are with all Queenslanders who are continually affected by these events.”

The rain has brought cooler temperatures to NSW after the mercury peaked at 34.3 degrees Celsius in central Sydney on Monday morning, but high humidity pushed the apparent temperature about 5 degrees higher.

Temperatures should remain lower in Sydney for the rest of the week, with highs in the low 20s and possible showers each day.

Brisbane will be slightly warmer, with the mercury reaching the low 30s, while Melbourne will have a cooler week with cloudy weather and temperatures reaching highs in the low 20s.
