With Easter just around the corner, vets are urging owners to be wary of seemingly harmless household items that could be deadly to dogs.

David Hollinshead at VetsNow in Middlesbrough warns that owners should pay extra attention during celebrations such as Easter, when the risk of accidents is greatest.

“We see a large increase in pet emergencies during holidays and major events, and often this is due to pets eating things they shouldn’t, such as flowers or chocolates,” he said.

Some flowers can be extremely dangerous

Some spring flowers, such as daffodils, are highly poisonous to dogs, according to the Blue Cross (stock image)

One such flower to look out for is the popular spring flower, daffodils, which sources say are highly poisonous to dogs. Blue Cross.

According to the charity, the bulbs are the most dangerous part as this is where the toxins are concentrated, but owners are warned against consuming any part of the flower, including drinking the water from a vase of daffodils.

Symptoms of daffodil poisoning include illness and an upset stomach. If your dog is sleepy and wobbly, these are also telltale signs of daffodil poisoning that you should look out for.

The charity recommends marking out flower spots in the garden and keeping an eye out for daffodils growing in walking areas.

Similarly, a number of other spring flowers, including tulips, buttercups and bluebells, can be fatal. Consuming any part of the plant, especially the bulb, can make dogs sick, and symptoms of stomach upset are often signs of flower poisoning.

Tulips can also cause drooling, nausea and diarrhea, breathing problems and heart palpitations.

Bluebells are one of the most dangerous spring flowering plants and, if consumed in large quantities, can have fatal consequences. The Blue Cross charity is warning owners to be careful when walking through woodland areas where clusters of bluebells can often be found.

Toxic foods to avoid

While preparing the Easter meal can be stressful, it’s vital that owners are also wary of what’s within reach while cooking, pet food company Purina advises. An expensive vet bill will undoubtedly be much more stressful than burnt potatoes.

Pet owners should avoid feeding dogs anything containing sultanas or sultanas, according to Purina, which definitely means hot cruss buns.

Garlic, onions and leeks can also be very dangerous for dogs to consume, with the average vet bill for impending onion poisoning being £339, according to data taken from pet insurance claims.

Onions and garlic can be toxic to dogs, according to Purina, a pet food company (stock image)

Onions and garlic can be toxic to dogs, according to Purina, a pet food company (stock image)

ManyPets veterinarian Dr. Kirsten Ronngren says this is because onions contain disulfides that can destroy a dog’s red blood cells, leading to a condition called hemolytic anemia.

“Treatment for onion toxicity depends on the size of the pet and how much it has consumed,” she said.

‘In more severe cases, the toxic dose may have been reached, requiring a pet to be treated for anemia.’

Hot cross buns also have the power to result in a hefty vet bill for dog owners. This is because both sultanas and sultanas are poisonous to dogs. It is thought that the tartaric acid in grapes causes the poisoning. Signs of an upset stomach, drooling and loss of appetite are all symptoms of poisoning.

Nutmeg, another common ingredient in hot cross buns, can also be potentially dangerous due to the hallucinogenic toxin myristicin.

Although it is marketed as a healthy alternative, manufacturers tend to put Xylitol, an artificial sweetener, in our food, causing a spike in insulin that can even be fatal for dogs.

Although symptoms often disappear within an hour, the risk of liver failure increases if a lot of Xylitol has been consumed.

Make sure you throw away all chocolate wrappers

While most of us know not to give dogs chocolate, Easter egg packaging can also be harmful to dogs.

Foil packaging can not only pose a choking hazard, but can also lead to a dangerous intestinal obstruction, causing abdominal pain and vomiting.

If you’re trying to make healthier choices for yourself this year, beware that the sweeter one, Xylitol, can be dangerous to dogs.

If you must give them a treat, stick to vegetables

Owners should not only be mindful of what is within the reach of greedy pups, but also be careful about what they feed as leftovers.

Research from Welsh company Burns Pet Nutrition has found that a third of owners overfeed their dogs, with 45 percent even sharing cheese with their dogs.

But founder of vet Burns Pet Nutrition, John Burns MBE, is urging owners to think twice about overfeeding.

‘Dogs don’t necessarily need tasty snacks, only we owners like to give them!’

Don’t let those big puppy eyes pressure you,” he said.

Burns recommends not feeding dogs leftovers and suggests using steamed vegetables if absolutely necessary.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV gives former child stars and crew members the opportunity to speak out about their negative experiences at Nickelodeon.

Investigation Discovery’s docuseries, which will air on Sunday, March 17, and Monday, March 18, focuses specifically on producer Dan Schneider’s infamous reign at the network. Schneider, 58, who is the founder and co-president of production company Schneider’s Bakery, helped create, write and produce hit shows in the late ‘90s and early 2000s including All That, Drake & Josh, iCarly, Sam & Cat, The Amanda Show, Victorious and Zoey 101.

Schneider’s projects helped launch the careers of stars such as Ariana Grande, Miranda Cosgrove, Amanda Bynes, Drake Bell, Josh Peck, Jamie Lynn Spears and more. The positive experience, however, wasn’t universal with All That cast members Katrina Johnson, Giovonnie Samuels, Kyle Sullivan and Bryan Hearne being some of the people breaking their silence about their time at Nickelodeon.

After being accused of inappropriate conduct during his run at Nickelodeon, Schneider parted ways with the network in 2018. Schneider later denied the allegations against him.

A spokesperson for Schneider released a statement before Quiet on Set’s release, which read, “Dan cared about the kids on his shows even when sometimes their own families unfortunately did not. He understood what they were going through and he was their biggest champion. The fact is many of the kids on these shows are put in the untenable position of becoming the breadwinner for their family and the pressure that comes along with that.”

The statement continued: “Add on top of that the difficulties of growing up and having to do so under the spotlight while working a demanding job, all as a child. That is why there are many levels of standards, executives, lawyers, teachers and parents everywhere, all the time, on every set, every day. However, it is still a hard place to be a kid and nobody knew that better than Dan.”

Keep scrolling for a breakdown of everything said about Schneider — and Nickelodeon — during Quiet on Set:

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV airs on ID Sunday, March 17, and Monday, March 18, at 9 p.m. ET.

High Highs and Low Lows

Quiet on Set

Katrina Johnson
Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc.

During the first episode, Katrina Johnson opened up about how she initially found success at Nickelodeon.

“From the time I was nine to 16, I starred on All That. Dan Schneider was my mentor,” she noted. “When we were filming the pilot, he came up to me and he said, ‘I chose you. You are my choice and I know you are going to be great.’ It made me feel like a million bucks.”

It didn’t take long for Johnson, 41, to see the darker side of starring on a hit series. She recalled her parents getting a call from Nickelodeon executives who claimed she was “getting too fat” and needed to lose weight to remain on All That.

“Shortly after that call I went through puberty and then the producers freak out because now I look like a woman and I am not little girlish anymore,” she recalled. “Then that became an issue. After that I sort of was edged out by a younger version of me.”

Johnson revealed she was the reason Schneider discovered Bynes, 37, adding, “When Amanda joined the show, I had less and less and then no time with Dan. The new favorite had arrived and I was out.”

According to Johnson, she was originally offered a show titled The Katrina Show. That never materialized and ultimately Schneider shifted his focus to Bynes, who would go on to star on The Amanda Show in the early 2000s.

Taking Part in Uncomfortable Sketches

Quiet on Set

Bryan Hearne
Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc.

Bryan Hearne and Leon Frierson were just a few of the All That stars who weren’t thrilled with some of the content they had to film. Frierson, 37, specifically recalled feeling “very exposed” while wearing leotards for various sketches. He also pointed out the Captain Big Nose sketches, which required him to wear a costume with what looked like “a penis and testicles” on his shoulders.

“I always did my best to be a trooper and never complain. Because we knew that being close to Dan could mean an extra level of success,” Frierson noted. “It was important to be on his good side and he made it known who was on his good side.”

Hearne, 35, meanwhile, addressed the alleged racism that took place on set. “Dan had a nicer relationship with some of the other white kids. I didn’t feel close to him at all,” he admitted. “My time on Nickelodeon played a big role in how I dealt and still deal with racial issues.”

Hearne’s mother, Tracey, also took part in the docuseries, in which she pointed out that her son’s first sketch on All That alluded to him being a drug dealer. She said the situation only got worse when she tried to draw attention to how Hearne was being treated compared to his white costars.

In a confessional, Hearne recalled the problematic comments made about his “little fetus” sketch.

“They were fitting me for the little fetus role and essentially you are a fetus so you are naked. You have a bodysuit on you and it has to be skin tone,” he shared. “Someone said, ‘The skin tone should be charcoal.’ I started to get teary eyed.”

The Snick On-Air Dare segment was another project that wasn’t well-received by the cast. (On the show, a random child actor would be picked to do dares, such as being submerged in worms, eating scorpions or being covered in peanut butter which dogs would then lick off.)

“Those were particularly traumatic. They were sort of designed to be,” Kyle Sullivan, who appeared on multiple seasons of All That, told the cameras. “They were taking something that exists in an adult context like Fear Factor. They were transmogrifying it onto kids. When you do that, it is actually an inappropriate thing to do.”

Sullivan, 35, said the “dysfunctional” comedy spread across most of Schneider’s content, adding, “The show was full of these uncomfortable sketches. I think Dan got a kick out of walking a line with that.”

In a statement to Us Weekly, Nickelodeon addressed the comments made in the Quiet on Set docuseries, adding, “Though we cannot corroborate or negate allegations of behaviors from productions decades ago, Nickelodeon as a matter of policy investigates all formal complaints as part of our commitment to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct. Our highest priorities are the well-being and best interests not just of our employees, casts and crew, but of all children, and we have adopted numerous safeguards over the years to help ensure we are living up to our own high standards and the expectations of our audience.”

Being a Woman in the Writers’ Room

Quiet on Set

Christy Stratton
Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc.

Christy Stratton and Jenny Kilgen were the first women hired to write for The Amanda Show in the late ‘90s. For Stratton, working with Schneider was “like being in an abusive relationship.”

“It was early on when we started that Dan said he didn’t think women were funny,” she recalled in a confessional. “Dan ran the writers’ room. He was there any time we did any work. He was very playful. We would laugh and joke around and being dirty was part of the silliness.”

However, the humor quickly evolved into adult content being hidden away in kids jokes. Stratton and Kilgen pointed out several examples of ideas that had a double meaning — including Bynes’ fictional character Penelope Taynt.

The issues didn’t just take place on screen. According to Kilgen, the problems started early on when she and Stratton were asked to split a salary, which didn’t apply to any of the men on staff. She also claimed Schneider would request for writers to yell out “degrading” words while working in the room.

“Dan was showing pornography on his computer screen. He would ask me several times to massage him in the writers’ room and in the studio,” Kilgen recalled. “He would always present it like a joke but you always felt like disagreeing with Dan or standing up for yourself could get you fired.”

Stratton admitted she was “scared” of Schneider, adding, “He had fostered this very casual, fun atmosphere but I felt like Dan could be very volatile and could turn any moment.”

In a separate confessional, Kilgen claimed Schneider once asked Stratton to pretend she was being “sodomized” while telling a story to the other writers. Stratton, for her part, said she didn’t want to elaborate on the incident.

“I’m not proud of it,” she told the cameras while getting emotional. “Thinking about it now, I just think of that poor girl and what she had to go through. I would not do that today but I did it then.”

Stratton was ultimately not asked to return for season 2 of The Amanda Show. Kilgen got an offer to return but was told she had a 16-week contract while having to work 11 more weeks for free. In a statement featured in the doc, Schneider denied Kilgen’s claims and stated he “had no control” over salaries.

After Schneider allegedly made a joke about Kilgen previously doing sex work, she quit. “I lasted four days in season 2,” she said. “I was destroyed. I went outside, I’m crying. I can’t do this. I went home and I quit. And it was so devastating and hard to let go of that job. But I just couldn’t do it anymore.”

Kilgen revealed she sued the production company, Storybook Productions, in 2000 for gender discrimination. She claimed the show exploited the only two female writers, created a “sexually hostile” work environment, denied them equal pay and took part in “illegal retaliation.”

“The reason I did this was because I didn’t want this happening to other women in the future,” Kilgen explained. “In response, they did an internal investigation. They settled but it had a lasting impact on my career. I knew that this was the end of my career so it better be worth it. And he better stop. It didn’t stop and it was all for nothing.”

Stratton weighed in on the aftermath of the lawsuit. “We were all afraid. That is why just me and Jenny are talking to you,” she noted. “People are afraid of him.”

In response to producers’ questions, Nickelodeon stated it “investigates all formal complaints as part of our commitment to fostering a safe and professional workplace …[W]e have adopted numerous safeguards over the years to help ensure we are living up to our own high standards and the expectations of our audience.”

Hiring Several Sex Offenders

The second episode of Quiet on Set introduced MJ, whose daughter Brandi was a guest star on The Amanda Show.

“We as parents weren’t allowed back on the set. We were greeted by production assistant Jason Handy, he guided all the kids to where they had to be,” MJ recalled. “When he wasn’t on set with the kids, he would talk with all the moms. You thought, ‘I could be friends with this person.’”

Handy, now 49, exchanged numbers with the kids and parents on set. He started emailing a then 11-year-old Brandi, which MJ said was “very innocent” at first. MJ was later alerted to a message Handy sent to Brandi of him “naked and masturbating.”

“I went back and forth with, ‘Should I call the police?’ They will think I am a bad parent because I allowed her to talk to this person. I struggled with this and I finally told myself, ‘I can’t call the police,’” she detailed. “‘All I can do is make sure I keep her far away from him.’ She left the business and never returned.”

Handy was arrested in 2003 after the authorities searched his home and found over 10,000 images of child pornography. He was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading no contest to two felony counts: one of lewd acts on a child and one of distributing sexually explicit material by email. Handy also pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge related to child sexual exploitation.

In 2009, Handy was released from prison and had to register as a sex offender in North Carolina. He was arrested again in 2014 on three counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of sex offender registry violations, according to the Los Angeles Times. Handy was held on $1 million bail but there have been no public updates on his case since then.

MJ revealed in the docuseries that her daughter testified in the case against Handy. They received a call from a detective in 2003 after Handy’s home was searched and they discovered ziplock bags with tokens from various underage girls.

According to journalist Kate Taylor, Handy’s journals were also confiscated, in which he referred to himself as “a pedophile, full blown.”

The docuseries mentioned Nickelodeon’s employment of Ezel Channel, as well. Channel was arrested in 2005 on suspicion of molesting a 14-year-old boy, who he brought onto the Nickelodeon set where he worked as a temporary production assistant. He was found guilty by a jury in 2009 of misdemeanor battery and a felony count of attempting to show pornographic material to a minor.

Channel received a six-month prison sentence and was sentenced to serve 16 months in state prison for the pornography count. Channel, who is a registered sex offender, had his felony conviction thrown out on appeal due to the lack of evidence proving the video he was showing the minor was of pornographic nature.

Brian Peck’s Time at Nickelodeon

According to multiple All That cast members, Brian Peck (who has no relation to former Nickelodeon star Josh Peck) “worked closely” on Schneider’s projects as a dialogue coach.

“Everybody loved Brian. He was charming and clever. He was around all the time,” Sullivan recalled. “All the parents loved him too. Everybody trusted Brian.”

Despite Peck’s friendly demeanor, Sullivan said there was an instance that stood out to him. Sullivan and other Nickelodeon child stars — and their parents — were at Peck’s house for a party when Sullivan noticed a painting.

“It was of a birthday clown holding balloons. Brian got very excited and on the back it said, ‘To Brian, I hope you enjoy the painting. Best wishes, your friend John Wayne Gacy,’” Sullivan claimed. “I was 14 so I didn’t know the details but I knew this guy was a f—king serial killer.”

He continued: “All the parents and kids come into the room and he presents the painting again. Brian actually developed a pen pal relationship with John. He kept this pile of letters and photos from John Wayne Gacy in his nightstand next to his bed. He pulls them out and starts showing them.”

(Gacy was a serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured and murdered dozens of young men and boys. He was sentenced to death after being convicted of 32 murders and died by lethal injection in 1994.)

Sullivan explained why he thought the red flag didn’t get addressed more at the time.

“Your instinct is to give the benefit of the doubt,” he noted. “Even in the face of this really bad sign, it was one of those classic failures of group psychology.”

Several months later, Peck was arrested for sexually abusing a then-unnamed child star. The 11 charges brought against Peck included oral copulation, sodomy and forcible penetration. He pleaded no contest to two charges of child sexual abuse and was sentenced to 16 months in prison and had to register as a sex offender.

Drake Bell revealed that he was the then-minor involved in the lawsuit. In the third episode of Quiet on Set, Bell, 37, detailed how Peck groomed him after they met on the set of The Amanda Show. Bell later told his mother that Peck had molested him, which led to the arrest.

Us Weekly has reached out to Peck for comment.

A Difficult Time on Set

Later in the docuseries, crew members from several of Schneider’s shows discussed his alleged toxic behavior.

Director Fabian, who collaborated with Schneider on multiple shows, claimed, “Dan would come down and yell and scream. There were times where I would go, ‘You are creating an atmosphere on this set that is not healthy.’”

Meanwhile, All That editor Karyn Finley Thompson said working conditions were horrible behind the scenes.

“You had to be as good or better or put more hours or do longer things than Dan did. We all did it or you got fired,” she claimed. “Dan Schneider would sit in the very back row [of the editing room] and he would make comments the whole time. They were sometimes very degrading. He would not talk to me. He would tell his associate producer, ‘Tell her to make this edit. Tell her to trim this.’”

Thompson said she would edit from early in the morning to midnight. She allegedly didn’t eat or go to the bathroom while at work.

“Every day was constant pressure to get things done faster, faster, faster,” she continued. “One day, I keeled over and I ended up having to go to the hospital. As I am leaving and curled over I could hear someone say, ‘How is the show going to get finished?’ I remember saying, ‘I will be right back!’”

Thompson concluded: “Then he promised me a job and he didn’t give it to me. It was given to a younger man with no experience. I was livid. I got up out of my chair and never came back.”

In a statement featured on screen, Schneider claimed he “never once considered gender” while hiring.

In a separate interview, an off-screen costume designer from Schneider’s shows brought up how he asked female crew members to massage him. (The docuseries showed a photo of Schneider on set while a woman was standing behind him to give a massage.)

“It was humiliating,” the former employee said. “It felt like a form of sexual harassment.”

A source close to Schneider previously addressed the allegations, telling Insider in 2022, “[Schneider] regrets ever asking anyone [for a massage] and agrees it was not appropriate, even though it only happened in public settings.”

Following the success of both iCarly and Victorious, Schneider created a spinoff series titled Sam & Cat, which starred McCurdy, 31, and Grande, 30. The show, however, only ran from 2013 to 2014 amid rumors of tension between costars and Schneider’s involvement on set.

According to All Your Screens writer and founder Rick Ellis, Nickelodeon launched an internal investigation because “the situation got so bad.” Taylor, meanwhile, stated that Schneider “was no longer allowed to interact with the cast” after the network allegedly found that he was “contributing” to a “toxic” environment.

Schneider told producers of the docuseries in a statement that he “was not barred from working with the actors” but “chose to give notes from his office” instead.

The Subsequent Downfall

Three years later, the unnamed costumer said she was one of many crew members that reported Schneider to her union in response to the Me Too movement. She called it a “much happier” workplace following his exit from the network.

Ellis claimed that Nickelodeon gave Schneider “around 7 million” dollars. Meanwhile, Taylor noted that the investigation allegedly “did not find any evidence of inappropriate sexual behavior or inappropriate relationships with children.” But “it did find evidence of being abusive to others in the workplace.”

Schneider’s rep said in a statement, “this is not an accurate description” of why he and Nickelodeon “parted ways.” However, Schneider noted that today he would “absolutely do some things differently.” Schneider admitted he “learned a lot over the years about how to be a better boss.”

Dealing With Their Past

Quiet on Set

Alexa Nikola
Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc.

According to Alexa Nikolas, her time on Zoey 101 has affected her in the long run. “I wasn’t happy. I actually couldn’t show up to set anymore without crying,” she explained. “A lot of my self worth was deeply damaged from that set experience. Me as a person was altered for life.”

Raquel Lee Bolleau also discussed how “being let go” from The Amanda Show after one season “broke” her confidence.

“That was a very young lesson to learn in my career is that everyone is replaceable,” she noted. “It sent me down a really dark path. I had to really pick myself back up and keep it moving in an industry that showed me very early on that it has no love for me.”

In his own confessional, Frierson said being a child star hurt him “mentally and somewhat physically.”

“The alcoholism that I dealt with I believe is a direct connection to the feelings I had after leaving the industry and not being able to maintain the success that I had,” he said, noting Nickelodeon should provide “more support in terms of consulting, mental health and wellness checks.”

Johnson recalled feeling “burned out” after All That, adding, “I was excited for the next chapter. Not everybody gets to be normal afterwards because you don’t know what that looks like.”

For Hearne, the aftermath of child stardom has stayed with him. “When I was on All That, it was a sweet experience but the bitter side of it was pretty bitter. There is a dark underbelly to child stardom,” he explained. “Kids are just a dollar sign when they show up on set. No one is taking anyone’s mental health seriously. That is completely unfortunate.”

Sullivan weighed in on his time at Nickelodeon, as well.

“There was a toxic environment and seeing how the show just kept on rolling and these people who were criminals just disappeared, it made me quite cynical about the reality of power dynamics,” he shared, adding that kids need “more protection” on set. “It made me trust people less.”

Schneider provided another statement in response to the various claims made in Quiet on Set.

“Everything that happened on the shows I ran was carefully scrutinized by dozens of involved adults. All stories, dialogue, costumes, and makeup were fully approved by network executives on two coasts,” he stated. “A standards and practices group read and ultimately approved every script, and programming executives received and approved all episodes. In addition, every day on every set, there were always parents and caregivers and their friends watching us rehearse and film.”

In 1996, Katie, then a surgery-free 18-year-old, got engaged to Gladiator star Warren Furman, now 48, (better known as Ace), but they split in two years later.

She was also technically engaged to businessman Scott Sullivan, but has since admitted her heart wasn’t in it when he gave her a ring just before she was about to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle in 2004, where she famously met Peter Andre.

Katie fell madly in love with Pete, 48, on the show and the pair got married in 2006. They went on to have two children; son Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, before they split in 2009.

Admitting she was on the ‘rebound’ Katie started dating cage fighter Alex Reid, 45, a mere eight weeks after her split from Pete.

Following a whirlwind romance the pair wed in Las Vegas in January 2010 but the marriage fell apart less than a year later.

Two years later Katie fell for Argentinian model model Leandro Penna, 35, after meeting him at Elton John’s Oscars party in LA.

Revealing she bedded him on the first night, the pair went on to get engaged before they split in 2012.

Later that year, Katie met part-time stripper and plasterer Kieran Hayler, who is nine years her junior.

The pair exchanged vows a mere five weeks later with Katie already pregnant with the couple’s first son Jett.

However, in 2017 the pair announced they were going to divorce, three years after she found out about Kieran’s affairs with her friends Jane Poutney and Chrissy Thomas.

In July 2019, Katie announced she was engaged again to personal trainer Kris Boyson, 32, after a year of dating.

The reality star – who was still legally married to third husband Kieran at the time- made the shock announcement during an appearance on Loose Women.

Their engagement was short-lived however as the couple split in November of that year, with Katie admitting to Kris that she cheated on him.

The reality star went on to find love with Carl Woods in July 2020 and the couple got engaged in April 2021.

Three months later her divorce with Kieran was made official and she set about planning her wedding to Carl.

However, it wasn’t meant to be as in November 2022 Carl revealed he had dumped Katie after claiming he found out she allegedly slept with someone else – and admitted to it.

BRUSHES WITH THE LAW

Katie is no stranger to court, having risked jail time on multiple occasions due to various driving violations.

In 2003, Katie swerved a speeding charge after police failed to arrest her within 12 weeks of allegedly clocking 70mph in a 40mph zone in her Range Rover.

Five years later she landed three penalty points after being caught talking on her mobile phone while driving. In 2009 she failed to provide the identity of the driver after her car was allegedly caught speeding in a 30mph zone and was later handed four penalty points after being clocked at 99mph and was handed four points on her licence.

The following year she was convicted for failing to be in proper control of her horsebox after veering into another lane in February and was given three points on her licence, bringing her total to 10.

Later that year she was banned from driving for six months after doing 83mph in a 70mph zone in her home county of West Sussex.

In 2012, Katie was disqualified for 12 months for failing to respond to two speeding tickets in September.

After a quiet few years Katie landed a six-month ban in February 2018 for speeding after totting up 12 penalty points for speeding. In July, photos emerged of her driving while still banned. Then in October she was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and spent 13 hours in custody after crashing into a VW Golf and a hedge on a gated estate at 2am.

In 2019 she was given a three-month ban for driving while disqualified in January of that year and was later handed a five-year restraining order banning her from contacting Michelle Penticost either directly or indirectly after hurling abuse at her during an argument at a school playground.

Then in October, Katie was banned from driving for a further 18 months for failing to inform police who was behind the wheel of her pink Range Rover during a crash in Bexley, south east London.

Two years later she crashed her BMW car on a country road near her West Sussex home in the early hours of the morning after drinking and taking drugs.

She pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates of drink driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and is handed a 16-week suspended prison sentence.

In 2022 she then pleaded guilty to breaching a five-year restraining order not to contact, directly or indirectly, Michelle Penticost.

She avoided jail again after claiming she ‘misunderstood’ the rules of a restraining order when she sent a ‘vile and nasty’ message about her ex-husband’s fiancée.

FINANCIAL WOES

Katie was declared bankrupt in 2019 with debts of £3.2m from her failed company Jordan Trading Ltd, that was set up to oversee her perfume and cosmetics line.

She set up the company in 2003 but in 2017 an application was put in to wind up the company as she tried to sort out her finances.

When the mother-of-five was declared bankrupt she vowed to pay back £12,000 a month to creditors of the firm through an individual voluntary arrangement.

The bankruptcy meant Katie, once worth a reported £45million, faced losing her £2million 11-bedroom mansion.

She took out a second mortgage on the property in 2015, but faced monthly payments of £12,300.

In June 2022 the former model had been due to attend the Royal Court of Justice to explain to a judge why she has failed to repay millions owed to creditors.

However, the hearing was adjourned at the last minute with her solicitors giving no reason for Katie’s no show before the court.

Despite being bankrupt Katie has seemingly led a lavish life, including exotic holidays to Las Vegas and Thailand.

ADDICTION STRUGGLES

Katie’s children have threatened to ‘never speak to her again’ if she took cocaine after her highly publicised battle with drugs.

Katie also visited The Priory in 2018 when she spent 28 days as an inpatient after her family urged her to seek help following wild partying antics in Mallorca.

At the time, she was confronted by her loved ones after shocking footage emerged of her rapping ‘I love coke’ during a booze-fuelled hen do.

Katie broke down after the intervention and admitted she needed help to get over her chaotic behaviour, which she blamed on her PTSD.

She later said: ‘My family and friends were hurt, they didn’t know what to do. All these years in the industry I never have [done drugs] but I purely did it to self-medicate, I went to the doctors and told them the truth…

‘Self-medicating on drugs really, it was disgusting, but it was my way of dealing with it. At least I can hold my hands up, if I didn’t speak out now, I would still be in a rut’.

In 2020 Katie revealed she had been taking monthly drug tests to ‘build trust’ with her ex-husbands Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler, with whom she shares four children.

In 2021, Katie crashed her BMW while double the drink-drive limit after leaving her home to allegedly hunt for drugs during an all-night alcohol and cocaine bender.

In November 2022 Katie’s ex Carl Woods reportedly leaked a recording of his former partner speaking about drugs.

In the midst of their break-up, Carl was said to have released a recording which allegedly hears Katie saying she didn’t turn up to an event ‘because I was on coke’.

THE MUCKY MANSION

Katie purchased a sprawling property in West Sussex for £1.3million back in 2014 with the hope of turning it into a cosy family home.

However the property was left in disarray after various mishaps, including fly tipping, floods, a fire and burglaries.

Renovations kicked off in June 2019, but the influencer was left devastated when the mucky mansion was broken into and destroyed by intruders a year later.

In June 2020, thieves broke in to steal her I’m A Celebrity rucksack and leant the shower head over the ceiling which caused the bathroom to flood and the ceiling to collapse.

Just weeks later, she suffered a fresh blow as thieves broke in again, and she vowed to up security after a neighbour witnessed three men on her private property.

In 2021 the place was ransacked yet again, with thieves stealing old photographs and hard drives.

The following year she landed a £45,000 payday to chart her renovations in the Channel 4 series Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion.

She bagged a second series of the show but filming was allegedly been thrown into mayhem since her ‘filthy’ house is too dirty for production crews to shoot in.

ASSAULT

Katie suffered trauma from a young age, revealing she was raped in a park at the age of seven.

The former Page 3 star detailed the damage the ordeal has caused during an appearance on Loose Women in 2017, stating: ‘There was the sexual assault and I was later raped.

‘I have discussed before and I do believe it led to me dressing provocatively and becoming a model.

‘I had been training to be a nurse but the glamour modelling world is aimed at men. They can look but they can’t touch. You can say or do what you like in a picture.’

The media personality was also sexually exploited by a photographer as a child, revealing: ‘He took indecent photographs that I thought were innocent at the time. I was 12. He made me do pictures where I was sticking my tongue out. They looked young and girly but to him. It is sexual. He used to make these milkshakes.

‘I never took one because I didn’t like it. The police when they came around.. that’s what he did he made the girls drink them and he drugged them.’

In 2018, Katie was raped at gunpoint during a horrifying carjacking in South Africa.

Katie was thrown out of the vehicle by the attackers, during her journey from Johannesburg to Swaziland in two people carriers with the production crew.

The vehicles were ransacked of laptops, iPads, passports, cash and jewellery – but the robbers left behind a fortune in camera gear which the crew had stored on board. The attackers were never apprehended.

In September 2021 Katie was allegedly punched in the face at her home in Essex, with a 32-year-old man who was then held on suspicious of assault.

Police were called to the former glamour model’s at around 1.30am on August 23, where a man was arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour.

Katie was taken to hospital and was pictured the following day with bruises to her face and an injured lip.

MENTAL HEALTH BATTLES

Katie has been open about her struggle with anxiety and depression.

In September, the mother-of-five revealed that she attempted suicide after suffering from ‘anxiety, depression and major trauma’ following her horrific 2018 carjacking.

The reality star admitted she hit rock bottom after she was raped at gunpoint during the ordeal and tried to hang herself, but after passing out she ‘saw her kids faces’ and realised she ‘never wanted it to happen again.’

Katie also said she’ll likely need therapy ‘for the rest of her life,’ after being diagnosed with PTSD.

She has received help for her mental health struggles during several stints at The Priory.

Katie thanked her therapist in a sweet Instagram post in May 2022 as she gave an update on her mental health.

She penned: ‘I’m so proud of myself and how far I’ve come changing the ways I now deal with situations that I’ve now learnt are my trigger points that I wasn’t about to control before.

‘Thank you to my therapists, consultant and my support network around me,’ Katie added a red heart emoji.

She added: ‘Tomorrow finally is a chapter I’ve completed in moving forwards, I’ll let you know tomorrow what it is.’

FAMILY MATTERS

Katie welcomed her first child, Harvey, in September 2022 but his father Dwight Yorke denied he was the father, until a DNA test proved his paternity.

The former glamour model and the former premier league footballer  briefly had a romance in 2001, and broke up soon after Katie fell pregnant.

Katie has claimed Dwight ‘disowned’ their son and has no contact with him.

Her relationship with her son was shown in two BBC documentaries that charted Harvey transitioning into adulthood and Katie’s journey into researching for a specialist college that caters to Harvey’s complex needs.

Harvey is on the autism spectrum and was born with disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome.

Katie is also mother to Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, with ex-husband Peter Andre and has Bunny, eight, and Jett, nine, with ex Kieran Hayler.

In August 2022, Katie claimed she has limited access to her two youngest children after her already strained relationship with their father broke down.

Katie’s mother Amy suffers from the terminal illness idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis- which causes scarring to the lungs and makes it difficult to breathe, after being diagnosed in 2017.

The star previously revealed she’s begun to organise her mother’s funeral, after ‘accepting’ her death is imminent.

Katie had previously revealed she offered one of her own lungs for Amy, because she is currently waiting to see if she can have a transplant

Little is known about Katie’s biological father Ray after he walked out on Katie and her mother when she was just four years old.

BOTCHED SURGERY AND INJURIES

Katie has undergone an array of procedures over the years, including rhinoplasty, a silhouette facelift, 3D, veneers, lip fillers and Botox.

In 2015, just before appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, the reality star had a botched boob reduction that left her with a hole in her breast and an implant protruding from her flesh.

Katie told her shocked housemates: ‘I’ve got no tits anymore. They’ve gone. There’s not even anything there. If you saw what I’m like underneath. The scar’s gone septic. My whole implant was hanging out on New Year’s Day.’

Shortly after leaving the Big Brother house she underwent corrective surgery and had her implants swapped for a D-cup.

Katie claimed her first face lift in 2017 had been a botched job and went back under the knife the following year aged 40 to correct it.

She said at the time ‘I need to get my face re-corrected after surgeon has totally f**ked my face up’.

He agent added: ‘She had the thread and it really quite distorted her look. She got a lot of backlash, a lot of negative press, a lot of trolling, everyone saying she’d taken it too far, when actually it was a job that had not gone to plan.’

In 2012 she jetted to Belgium to correct botched surgery on her breasts, saying her surgeon was utterly shocked by the ‘awful’ previous procedure.

Katie said: ‘They looked deformed, they were absolutely awful. That’s the first time I’ve gone to a different surgeon. I had to go back to Frank with my head down, ashamed that I’d been to another clinic.’

In August 2020, Katie revealed a freak accident had left her with two broken feet after she had plummeted 25ft off a wall at a theme park in Turkey.

Upon her return to the UK, she was left using a wheelchair and fearing she would be paralysed before doctors told her she could be in recovery for up to two years and was initially unable to walk for six months.

PET TRAGEDIES

Katie has been lambasted by animal charities and petitions have been set up to stop her owning animals after several pets died under her care.

In November 2022, Katie’s beloved dog Sharon was killed when she allegedly escaped and ran onto the road where she was hit by a car.

Pomeranian Sharon was picked up off the A24 by the driver of the vehicle and taken to to Arun Vets in Pulborough, West Sussex, where her death was confirmed.

Weeks before she was left distraught after losing her beloved Chihuahua Captain while on holiday in Dorset.

Katie’s dogs Rolo, Queenie and Sparkle died in recent years, while she has also lost a pet chameleon and a beloved horse.

In 2021 it was revealed she she gave away her daughter Princess’ puppy Precious to a member of the crew on her TV show.

Billie Piper has finally broken her silence on ex-husband Laurence Fox six years after their ‘quickie divorce’.

The actress shares sons Winston, 12, and Eugene, eight, with the controversial activist and the pair were embroiled in a lengthy custody dispute after their split.

In 2022, Laurence, 45, publicly spoke out about their arrangement, claiming Billie was using their children as ‘weapons’ and that he had been denied access to seeing them.

While Billie, 41, maintained a dignified silence at the time, she has now spoken out about their complicated relationship in a candid interview with British Vogue

Asked how she navigates co-parenting with Laurence, Billie shared: ‘With enormous difficulty.’

Billie Piper has finally broken her silence on ex-husband Laurence Fox, discussing his public scandals and their ‘difficult’ co-parenting in a candid chat with British Vogue

She continued: ‘I close everything down and keep a very strict routine with the kids so that there’s consistency. I keep them close. That’s all I can do…

‘What is paramount for me is the privacy and anonymity of my children. They deserve not to be extensions of the parents and to forge their own identities.’

Billie added that she tries to avoid hearing anything about her ex, who has hit headlines in recent weeks for a slew of controversies.

He was recently dropped from GB News after launching into a ‘sexist’ rant about a female journalist and lost a high profile libel case after calling two men ‘paedophiles’.

Yet Billie does her best to avoid being drawn into his scandals, explaining: ‘I try to keep people from telling me stuff but it’s really, really hard.

‘I don’t read it but everyone wants to talk about it. Sometimes I have to say to people: “Please don’t bring this to me, now or ever.”‘

While she doesn’t want to spend her time discussing her ex-husband she admitted: ‘Of course I have feelings on that, I’m not dead inside.’

Billie added: ‘I’ve had to make some choices and a divorce speaks for itself… or at least it should! You have to laugh because it’s a lot. It’s a good way of kind of soothing yourself.’

Despite discussing the difficulties of Laurence she revealed that there has been a ‘positive’ in their divorce and custody battle.

She reasoned: ‘It’s made me feel stronger in many ways. I’ve learnt I have a lot of resilience I didn’t know I had.

‘I’ve had to learn the hard way that you can only control yourself and how you react to things. It’s really f***ing hard. I hate that.’

Yet she confessed that she isn’t the best person to ask about Laurence, saying: ‘Look, if people want to try and understand the workings of the guy, they ought to either ask him or his family.

‘Ask [Fox’s brother-in-law, actor and comedian] Richard Ayoade what he thinks, or his wife [Fox’s actor sister] Lydia. They might have a more interesting take.’

Billie first met Laurence in a theatre rehearsal room in 2006 and they tied the knot the following year when she was 25.

It was her second marriage, following her controversial union with DJ Chris Evans, whom she wed when she was 18 and he was 35 – yet Billie has no bad words about her first husband, labelling him ‘one of the good guys.’

Most recently she was dating singer Johnny Lloyd but the couple quietly separated last year after eight years together. They share five-year-old daughter, Tallulah.

There seems to be no bad blood between the pair, with Billie labelling Johnny ‘a very good man’.

She confessed in her Vogue chat that her late 20s and early 30s were a period of unrest for her and she felt ‘unhinged and mentally not well’.

Billie recalled: ‘There was something very, very sobering about that time and letting go of people that weren’t very healthy for me. Unfortunately, a lot of that has been in relation to men I suppose.’

She tied-the-knot with Laurence in a low-key parish church ceremony on New Year’s Eve in 2007, after a few drinks in the local pub.

They were married in a 50-minute ceremony at a village church near their £750,000 home in Eastbourne, West Sussex, with the actress wearing a formal, low-cut wedding dress in ivory with a flash of pink.

It was Billie’s former husband Chris and his new wife, Natasha Shishmanian, that made the guest list somewhat unusual.

The presenter was also the first person to visit the newly-married couple’s home, with the trio chinking glasses in a cordial toast before Chris drove to his own country pile, just a few miles away.

Laurence and Billie went on to welcome two sons.

However, the pair confirmed they had separated after eight years of marriage in 2016, and insisted that ‘no third parties involved’ in their split.

A post on his official Facebook account at the time read: ‘Laurence Fox and Billie Piper have separated. No third parties are involved. For the sake of our family we request and appeal for space and privacy at this time.’

The pair were granted a ‘quickie divorce’ in a court ruling that took just 50 seconds, citing unreasonable behaviour.

The actress, was not present when her request for a decree nisi from the actor was granted on the grounds that the marriage had ‘irretrievably broken down’ on the grounds of his ‘unreasonable behaviour’.

At the time of their split, they stated their intention to ‘co-parent their children with the utmost mutual respect for each other’.

But between 2016 and 2017, Laurence and Billie then became embroiled in a lengthy custody dispute over access to their children.

The proceedings concluded in the Family Division of the High Court in December 2017 and Laurence previously claimed that they drained his finances.

The actor said that he’d been forced to put his career on hold so that he could help their children cope with the aftermath of the split.

Speaking in January 2018, he said: ‘I was certainly in a very dark place at one point – at my lowest ebb. I almost felt like I couldn’t go on. It all felt so hopeless.

‘With divorce, you immediately lose half the time you’d spend with the kids. That in itself is a mental health crisis. But, like everything, these feelings pass and you start to feel stronger with every day.

‘Men no longer feel comfortable talking about relationships, and for the men who bottle it, it can be disastrous – they end up throwing themselves off buildings.’

After his court proceedings, Laurence started campaigning to transform the family court system, which he described as ‘unnecessarily adversarial’.

At the time, he said: ‘Actually I feel really sad. The process didn’t need to be so long, drawn-out and adversarial.

Billie’s first controversial union was with Chris Evans, whom she wed when she was 18 and he was 35 – yet Billie has no bad words about her first husband, calling him ‘one of the good guys’

In 2022, Laurence brought their custody dispute back into the public eye when he accused Billie of denying him access to their children, alleging that he has not been able to see or speak to his eldest son Winston on his 14th birthday.

He penned: ‘It is [my son’s] birthday tomorrow and his mother has denied him any access to see or speak with me, I am using my platform to highlight what child alienation does to families. Kids need both parents.

‘Don’t be the parent who refuses to let their sons speak to their dad, especially on their birthday. Don’t be that parent. Put children first. Don’t use them as weapons.

‘It is so bad for kids. Child alienation needs to be talked about openly, along with all other child abuse.’

But Twitter users were quick to hit back at his allegations and accused him of using his children as ‘weapons’ – which he accused Billie of – by sharing the ranting post.

From Billie Piper’s booze-fuelled marriage with Chris Evans to bitter divorce battle with Laurence Fox… the star’s complicated relationships as she ‘splits from her boyfriend of eight years Johnny Lloyd’

It’s unlucky in love again for Billie Piper as she has reportedly split from her boyfriend Johnny Lloyd after eight years together.

The former Doctor Who star, 41, and the singer, 38, who share five-year-old daughter, Tallulah, decided to end their romance after lockdown had a major impact on their relationship, according to The Sun on Sunday.

It’s not the first relationship to seemingly turn sour for the actress; she’s been divorced twice and involved in a bitter custody battle with her ex Laurence Fox.

She famously married her first husband Chris Evans back in 2001, after dating for six months, aged just 18, with the 16-year age gap between the pair sparking controversy.

So, amid reports that the end of Billie’s relationship to Johnny was ‘very sad’ and they are ‘better off apart’, FEMAIL takes a look at the star’s complicated relationship history…

CHRIS EVANS

Fans of Billie Piper were shocked when it emerged that she and Chris Evans had tied the knot in a casual Las Vegas wedding in 2001 – with just six guests.

The couple has only met a year earlier when she appeared on his TV show TFI Friday in 2000 – the next day, he sent a £110,000 Ferrari filled with roses to her home (she couldn’t drive at the time).

She was just 18, when she wed Chris who was 16-years old her senior, sparking controversy.

The duo married in a secret Las Vegas ceremony at the Little Church of the West for which she wore flips flops and a sarong. The groom was equally casual, donning an open-necked shirt.

An 18-month sabbatical followed as the couple travelled the world, before settling at Chris’ country estate in Hascombe, Surrey.

The couple split three years later in 2004 and the divorce was finalised in 2007, they remained on good terms with Billie likening the marriage ‘to being in your university years’.

She did not request a single penny of his estimated £30million fortune, and although citing irreconcilable differences on their divorce papers, they remained close afterwards.

Billie previously recalled how she got ‘completely hammered for three years’ with her ex-husband when she was feeling burnt out from her teen pop career.

Speaking on David Tennant Does A Podcast With… in 2020, Billie said she had an ‘amazing time’ with Chris and described the relationship as ‘very loving.’

And when Billie had a public ‘meltdown’ in 2006, it was no surprise that it was her estranged husband to which she turned.

Suffering from stress over her forthcoming stage debut in the intense emotional drama Treats, she was seen making a teary mobile phone call close to the rehearsal rooms where final preparations were being made for the play’s opening night.

Minutes later, Chris appeared, accompanying her to a pavement café where he tenderly held her hand as she sobbed uncontrollably.

MATT SMITH

After her marriage broke down, Bille Piper was seem looking cosy with Matt Smith, who played Doctor Who – three years before he scored the role.

Meanwhile, Billie played the Time lord’s famous assistant since its 2005 revival, while he was an unknown actor propelled to fame when chosen to star in the BBC series.

Pictured holding hands at a Surrey fete in 2006, the pair stroll together through the crowd, drinking Pimms and enjoying the sunshine.

At this point, the two actors had just been reunited on the set of ITV2’s Piper vehicle, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, in which Smith had a minor role. They had previously worked together on BBC drama The Ruby in the Smoke.

Although Smith and Piper never announced they were officially a couple, a friend who was with them on the day they visited the fete says their chemistry was unmistakeable.

‘They were very touchy-feely and seemed really at ease with each other,’ they said. ‘Everybody assumed they were a couple by the way they were acting.’

The friend added that the two actors did not go unnoticed by the crowd. ‘A lot of people were talking about how good they looked together,’ they said.

‘They were definitely having a great time. Obviously everyone knew who Billie was – but Matt wasn’t at all famous then. It’s amazing to think he has gone on to star in Doctor Who.’

Chris Evans was not Billie’s only husband – she also was married to Laurence Fox, who was famous for coming from an acting dynasty, and now for his political commentary work.

Billie first met Laurence in a theatre rehearsal room in 2006, they went on to marry a year later – she was granted a ‘quickie’ divorce from him in 2016.

Laurence and Billie went on to welcome two sons, Winston, 12, and Eugene, eight.

Actor Laurence revealed that he’s been forced to put his career on hold so that he can help their children cope with the aftermath of the split.

But rather than throwing himself head-first into his work, he’s had to become a full-time father to his two children.

Meanwhile Billie – who shares sons Winston, 12, and Eugene, eight, with her ex-husband Laurence Fox – told The Guardian: ‘I know about dysfunctional relationships. I know about what it costs to be a woman.’

Now Billie Piper has reportedly split from her boyfriend Johnny Lloyd after eight years together.

The former Doctor Who star, 41, and the singer, 38, who share five-year-old daughter, Tallulah, decided to end their romance after lockdown had a major impact on their relationship.

Sources told The Sun on Sunday that the end of their relationship was ‘very sad’ and they are ‘better off apart.’

A source told the publication that Billie and Johnny actually split last year.

They said: ‘It’s obviously very sad that the couple have gone their separate ways.

‘But the relationship ran its course and they decided they would be better off apart. Like many couples, lockdown was quite tough for them, so they have had time to really think about what they want their future to look like.

‘They will always treasure the time they had together and have many happy memories.

‘Now they are concentrating on co-parenting their daughter and their separate careers.’

MailOnline has contacted Billie’s representatives for a comment.

Former Doctor Who star Billie was previously married to DJ Chris Evans, who is 17 years her senior, and actor-turned-political activist Laurence Fox, 45, with whom she has two sons.

Billie and Johnny welcomed their daughter Tallulah in January 2019 after it was confirmed in July 2018 that Billie was expecting her first child with the rocker.

A source told the Mirror at the time: ‘Billie and Johnny are delighted. They can’t wait to welcome the new addition to their family.’

She revealed she would love to have more children back in February, 2018, admitting: ‘In my dream world I’d have loads.’

One of Billie’s lesser-known loves (though a seminal relationship of the late 90s) was her pairing with Ritchie Neville.

The heart throb from boyband 5ive lasted a whole two years, with the teens getting together in 1998 then sadly ending their liaison in 2000.

At the time, Billie was seriously famous, after being offered a record contract in 1998 at the age of 15.

That year, she became the youngest artist to debut at number one in the UK Singles Chart.

Her record, Because We Want To, was released under the stage name Billie. It was followed by her next single Girlfriend, which also debuted at number one.

Meanwhile, 5ive, Richie’s band were not quite as successful: they debuted their first single Slam Dunk da Funk in 1998 at number 10.

It wasn’t really until after 2000, when Ritchie and Billie broke up, that the boyband became more successful.

Paris Hilton has accused her uncle Mauricio Umansky of publicly discussing a family feud that erupted years ago over affairs.

Mauricio is the estranged husband of Real Housewife Of Beverly Hills Kyle Richards, whose sister is Paris’ mother, Kathy Hilton.

Today, Mauricio, 53, is a real estate agent with his own company, but he used to work with Paris’ father Rick at broker Hilton & Hyland.

In his new Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio told the story of how he left Hilton & Hyland and caused an explosive rift between Kyle and her family, to the point where the Hiltons reportedly stopped speaking to her.

Now Paris has jumped into the fray, defending her father and denouncing Mauricio for “using the name Hilton every chance he got to plug his lame show.”

In a Twitter preview for his Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio is seen discussing his departure from the Hilton group.

The dashing reality star explained that he wanted to become a partner at the firm, but “got into a bit of a bind with Hilton & Hyland.”

He explained his version of events: “And when I say, ‘f***ed,’ you know, today I’m happy, but there were 100 agents at Hilton & Hyland. They were making a billion dollars a year for the first time, I was 19.6% of their production, and I went to Rick and said, “I’d really like stock, right? And be a partner.”

To hear Mauricio tell it, Rick then took the matter to Jeffrey Hyland, president of Hilton & Hyland, and returned without an answer.

“Then I went home,” Mauricio said, “I talked to Kyle, I say, ‘This is really going to cause a lot of stress between you and your sister and your family, and I want to take this step of leaving and starting a business if you you don’t feel comfortable.”

However, Kyle “was 100% supportive,” and Mauricio broke away from Hilton & Hyland and started his own venture, The Agency.

His old bosses, he recalled, asked, “How did you not give us a single warning or problem?” prompting Mauricio to respond in disbelief: “Warning?”

In a confessional, Mauricio said diplomatically, “I think Hilton & Hyland is a great company and I would never be caught dead talking bad about them because I don’t think bad about them, and I’m Rick’s brother-in-law.”

He added: “But unfortunately it turned sour because it really affected the family – Kyle more than anyone else. You know, her family stopped talking to her, but she understood that what was done to me was wrong and she stood by me, and in the end, that’s what I needed.”

Paris reacted angrily to the clip on social media, writing: “My father is a perfect gentleman and has always taken the higher road.”

She emphatically argued: ‘He would never speak negatively about his family – especially in the press. Frankly, we’re all tired of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It’s enough already..’

Kylie and Mauricio married in 1996 and have since welcomed three daughters into the world together: Alexia, 27, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 16.

A young woman is suing the high school she attended, alleging she did not have to deal with the incessant bullying that caused her disappointing graduation results.

A report from the Sydney Morning Herald said Aimee Clifton has filed an affidavit in the NSW Supreme Court over a claim against the Blue Mountains Grammar School (BMGS) in Wentworth Falls, near Katoomba NSW, for almost $600,000.

In the claim, Ms Clifton alleges that staff failed to protect her from the relentless bullying she faced while attending the school between 2017 and 2022.

She claims that despite being a ‘high achiever’ at school, the bullying led to her achieving an ATAR of 75.85.

Ms Clifton is seeking damages, including lost income from reduced future employment opportunities due to the lower score on the Higher School Certificate.

Aimee Clifton (pictured) is suing her former high school for just under $600,000 over alleged rampant bullying that lowered her ATAR score

Ms Clifton claims her parents filed a complaint about the alleged bullying in 2020, but BMGS only conducted a brief investigation and took no action.

She further claimed the bullying continued, including having her windscreen wipers ripped off, being called a ‘psycho b***h’ and being assaulted at the school’s sports carnival.

The alleged bullying resulted in her having a nervous breakdown, which led to her being hospitalized twice and withdrawing from classes essential for HSC preparation.

‘It ruined my life for months and caused me so much stress. I hope no other girl has to go through this,” she told the BBC Sydney Morning Herald.

Despite the teachers reportedly being aware of the bullying, she claims she received “minimal to zero academic support” after leaving classes.

Ms Clifton subsequently performed ‘very poorly’ in the HSC, despite expectations of a score above 90.

Better ATAR results will help students take more competitive university courses, which Ms Cliften claims she was put off by the bullying.

The year after completing her HSC, Ms Clifton graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Musical Theater from Brent Street, a performing arts studio in Sydney.

BMGS’s harassment policy states that the school will “promptly consider all reports of suspected harassment, including bullying” and “attempt to resolve matters.”

‘The school is committed to providing a safe, positive and supportive environment for all; a situation where abuse is reported and responses are quick and effective in changing behavior and repairing relationships,” the policy reads.

The school’s principal since May 2022, Steven Coote, told the publication he could not comment on the claim.

“It is essential to prioritize the privacy and confidentiality of all parties involved, and that is why we want to proceed with the appropriate professionalism and sensitivity,” he said.

Daily Mail Australia contacted BMGS for comment.

The 32-year-old athlete, who has signed a mega $1 million deal with a Chinese basketball team, posted to Instagram Stories on Saturday a video of herself looking relaxed and refreshed while sitting in the back of a car.

‘People really say, ‘You look so good. What has changed in you?’ I’m not depressed,” Liz explained.

She lost focus for a moment as she playfully told her friend to giggle in the background.

‘That’s funny?’ she jokingly scoffed.

“You can’t heal around toxic people and in sh***y situations, I’m sorry. But it’s the truth. I’m sorry,” she concluded.

Liz currently lives in a luxury villa in the northwestern Chinese city of Chengdu, which has a population of 16 million.

Parents are being warned over a potentially deadly social media trend after an 11-year-old boy died in Lancaster on Saturday while at a sleepover with a friend.

Tommie-lee Gracie Billington, 11, died in hospital on Saturday after reportedly taking part in the ‘chroming’ social media challenge during a sleepover at a friend’s house.

Chroming refers to the practice of inhaling aerosols such as deodorant or spray paint, which can provide a temporary high but can easily go fatally wrong.

Now experts are calling for more protection for under 18s to exposure to the trend such as through television, as they warn it can cause coma, cardiac arrest and even death.

Social media expert Hannah O’Donoghue Hobbs told MailOnline that terrifying trends – including chroming – are ‘deathly dangerous’ and ‘absolutely shocking’.

She added: ‘It really scares me as to how they can gain any reach whatsoever. No child should lose their life as a result of videos and backwards influencing like this.’

It comes after paramedics were called to an address in Greenset Close, Lancaster, on Saturday where Tommie-lee was found unresponsive.

The youngster’s grandmother Tina Burns took to social media to warn other families and said her grandson died ‘instantly’ after he and a friend ‘tried the TikTok craze chroming’.

The family now want TikTok taken down completely and children under 16 to be banned from all social media.

The social media platform has blocked any videos or searches using the term.

Chroming has been used as a slang term to describe the trend of inhaling toxic fumes to get a high since before TikTok’s launch in the UK in 2018.

Steve Cole, the Director of Policy, Campaigns and Public Affairs at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) told MailOnline: ‘We are shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Tommie-lee Gracie Billington and extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

‘This incident painfully underscores the need for increased awareness and education surrounding the risks associated with the misuse of aerosols, but also an urgent need for government to step in and take action.

‘Ofcom’s guidelines emphasise the need to protect individuals under 18 from harmful content and dangerous behaviour on TV during specific times – but when it comes to social media, there are no such provisions in place.

‘Considering that children are using social media more than any other platform, it raises the question, why aren’t we doing more to protect them?’

He added: ‘Aerosols are highly regulated products that comply with strict legislation and millions are sold and used every day.

‘However, as with many over the counter products, they need to be used in accordance with the guidelines, in well-ventilated places and in moderation to avoid accidental inhalation and flammability risks.

‘Inhaling substantial amounts of any aerosol can cause a range of life-threatening situations like blackouts, respiratory distress, heart rhythm problems, and death.

‘We always recommend ensuring aerosols are used in well-ventilated spaces and in moderation to avoid accidental inhalation and flammability risks and advise parents and carers to keep aerosols out of reach if their children do not understand the risks or how to use them safely.’

Dr Michele McDowell, a child psychologist, said that kids and teenagers are more susceptible to these feelings because it is a stage where they want to feel a ‘sense of belonging’ to a friendship group.

She said: ‘The death of Tommie-lee is an awful tragedy and a horrific example of the harm that social media can cause.

‘The problem is that this type of content is widespread. Harmful challenges have been associated with other apps too.

‘Each year there are more apps developed and the most popular ones gain a keen young following.’

Ms O Donohue called for more monitoring from the platforms and ‘more reactive removal of any videos deemed harmful’.

She added: ‘Awful awful situations like this can happen, and can be almost unavoidable but we can see how social media usage has played a massive role here. ‘

Natalie Costa, founder of Power Thoughts, a teaching, coaching and mindfulness service, told MailOnline: ‘Some [trends] may be quite harmless and fun but many can be dangerous and fatal. There are also the social and psychological factors to consider, that often drives these challenges.’

British teenager Giorgia Green, 14, from Derby, was found in a state of cardiac arrest in 2022 after spraying deodorant in her bedroom - she had not been participating in the online trend

Dr Leyla Hannbeck, CEO of Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies previously told MailOnline that it was ‘very concerning’ and urged social media giants to ‘take steps in monitoring this effectively’ so videos stop going viral.

Dr Jen Caudle, a US doctor, said the craze was a ‘death trap’.

She said: ‘This is a warning to parents, for kids, for people out there. Do not try this.’

Ashley Martin, public health adviser RoSPA, previously said it is too easy for young children to ‘assume aerosols are safe’.

He said: ‘It’s easy to assume they are completely safe and totally free from risk. The truth is they’re not. Inhaling large quantities of aerosols, not just deodorants, can lead to a whole host of life-endangering scenarios – from blackouts and breathing difficulties, to heart rhythm changes and sadly, death.’

England’s drug and aerosol abuse charity Talk to Frank reports there are more than 50 deaths in the country each year involving glues, gases, solvents and aerosols.

Breathing in toxic fumes from any of these can cause confusion, slurred speech, mood swings, aggressive behaviour, hallucinations, vomiting, blackouts and breathing difficulties.

It can also cause more serious symptoms such as forcing the heart to go out of rhythm, potentially causing a heart attack.

The charity stresses that it takes just a little too much of an aerosol to result in coma and even death.

Tommie-lee’s death is sadly the latest in a string of young lives tragically cut short by the inhalation of toxic fumes from aerosols such as deodorant and paint.

In September, 14-year-old Sarah Mescall, from County Clare, Ireland, died after she also took part in the online craze.

Sarah collapsed after inhaling fumes and was put into an induced coma, but sadly died three days later.

This followed the death of 13-year-old Esra Haynes in Melbourne, Australia, in April 2023.

Esra suffered a cardiac arrest after breathing in fumes from an aerosol canister, her family said.

Her parents have since made it their ‘life’s mission’ to warn others about the dangers of chroming after their loss left the entire family ‘broken’.

It is thought the trend of ingesting paint and other household chemicals including deodorant and even bug spray has claimed the lives of more than a dozen young Australians since 2009, with regulators and health experts struggling to contain the issue.

But despite cases dating back years, children across the world are still dying.

In 2022, British teenager Giorgia Green, from Derby, was found in a state of cardiac arrest after spraying deodorant in her bedroom.

It is not thought the 14-year-old, who was autistic, was taking part in any social media challenge, but instead breathed in the aerosol after spraying it on her blankets to relieve anxiety.

Her father Paul Green said: ‘People don’t know how dangerous the contents of those tins can be.

‘I would like it so that no-one else in the country – or the world – would end up having to go through what we’ve personally gone through. We don’t want our daughter’s death to be in vain.’

He added: ‘If she was feeling in any way a little bit anxious, she would spray this spray and it would give her a sense of comfort because it’s a deodorant my wife used.’

Other dangerous social media trends have also sparked concern, including the  Benadryl Challenge which involved participants taking 12-14 pills, nearly double the recommended daily dosage and ten times the recommended dose for a six-hour period.

Jacob Stevens died in April 2023 after overdosing on Benadryl as part of the viral TikTok challenge

Jacob Stevens took a large amount of pills as part of the Benadryl Challenge and died six days later

A 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl have both died while attempting the challenge.

In the socket challenge, a phone charger is partially pulled out of a socket and a penny is dropped on the exposed prongs, leading to a shower of sparks.

In the salt-and-ice challenge, participants pour salt on their skin, then cover it in ice, leading to second-degree burns and frostbite.

The nutmeg challenge involves consuming ground nutmeg, leading to a ‘high’ plus side-effects that may include a raised heart rate, breathing difficulties and, in some cases, seizures.

There is no more poignant and terrifying example of what can happen with trends than the case of 12-year-old Archie Battersbee, who was declared brain dead after collapsing at home.

His mother Hollie believes her son may have been trying the so – called ‘blackout’ challenge shortly before he was found unconscious, although there has never been any evidence that Archie saw the challenge on TikTok.

Tommie-lee’s family is now desperate to prevent the tragedy from taking any other young lives.

Grandmother Tina told the Lancashire Post: ‘We don’t want any other children to follow TikTok or be on social media.

‘In fact, we want to get TikTok taken down and no children to be allowed on any social media under 16 years of age.

‘This is breaking us all but we want to help save other children’s lives and give families awareness to keep their children safe.’

She said she had received many messages from other parents ‘thanking her’ for raising awareness of the challenge.

She paid tribute to her grandson and told the outlet that he had a ‘heart of gold,’ adding that the family have been left ‘utterly devastated’ by the loss of Tommie-lee, who was ‘bright’, ‘energetic’ and the ‘life and soul of any room’.

TikTok previously said the platform ‘does not allow dangerous challenges, and we proactively find 99 per cent of content removed for breaking these rules’.

According to a recently surfaced report, electric vehicles can cause more pollution than gas-powered vehicles.

The study, which was published in 2022 but has returned to circulation after being quoted in a WSJ op-edResearch has shown that brakes and tires release 1,850 times more particles than modern exhaust pipes fitted with filters that reduce emissions.

It found that electric vehicles are on average 30 percent heavier than gas-powered vehicles, wearing out brakes and tire treads faster than standard cars and releasing small, often toxic particles into the atmosphere.

EV batteries weigh approximately 1,000 pounds and can result in tire emissions nearly 400 times more than tailpipe emissions.

Particulate pollution can increase health problems, including heart disease, asthma and lung disease, and in extreme cases can lead to hospital admissions, cancer and premature death.

It comes as California works to impose a complete ban on all gasoline vehicles by 2035.

New gasoline-powered vehicles do not emit the same amount of emissions as older vehicles; they emit only one percent of all particulate matter (air pollution) in California, with the majority of emissions coming from older vehicles.

New gasoline cars are made to be “cleaner,” updating the equipment of their combustion engines with particulate filters that reduce emissions to less than 1/1000th of a gram per mile.

The electric vehicles have become heavier thanks to their lithium-ion batteries, which causes the tire tread to wear out faster, ultimately causing more emissions.

The study, conducted by the Emissions Analytics firm, said the main difference between tailpipe and tire emissions is that the majority of particulate emissions released from the tire go directly into soil and water, while exhaust fumes negatively affect air quality.

The effects of tire composition come down to the materials the tire is made of, the study reports.

Light duty tires are typically made of synthetic rubber developed using crude oil, natural rubber, with fillers and additives added, some of which are recognized carcinogens.

Emissions Analytics tested tire wear on both EV and gasoline vehicles after driving at least 1,000 miles.

The researchers used a sampling system to collect particles directly behind each tire and then measured the size of the particles emitted from the tread.

It turned out that the greater the mass and weight of the vehicle, the faster the emissions of soot particles are released due to the greater torque between the tires and the road.

New study finds tire wear produces more CO2 emissions than an exhaust pipe, despite California's claims that electric vehicles produce zero emissions

New study finds tire wear produces more CO2 emissions than an exhaust pipe, despite California’s claims that electric vehicles produce zero emissions

A special one Report 2020 of the company Emissions Analytics said tires are likely to be a major problem in the coming years as “consumers move to larger and heavier cars.”

“Research shows that they contribute to marine pollution by microplastics, but also to air pollution by finer particles,” the report continues.

The average Hyundai electric vehicle weighs more than 3,700 pounds, compared to the gas alternative, which weighs 3,000 pounds.

Meanwhile, Volvo’s EV weighs 4,662 pounds, while its gas vehicle weighs 3,726 pounds, but the Ford F150 EV truck comes in at a whopping 6,000 pounds, 2,000 pounds more than the gas option.

California claims that banning gas-powered vehicles would protect public health from airborne pollutants such as dust, dirt and grime, and calls EVs “zero-emission vehicles,” but the heavier weight drastically affects how quickly the tread of the tires wear out.

That of the state anyway proposalsubmitted by the Air Resources Board, suggested that the tire treads of electric cars and gasoline vehicles wear out at the same rate, which was criticized by the public, but the state said that “it would be speculative to predict” that electric cars would not be less would weigh. the future.

It added that the weight of future EV models could be “compensated” with “weight reduction in other components or the bodywork” – although the agency did not provide examples of how the weight would be reduced.

The electricity used to power an electric car can lead to more environmental problems and air pollution

The electricity used to power an electric car can lead to more environmental problems and air pollution

California has claimed that electric cars produce no emissions because they have no exhaust, but that is reportedly misleading because the significant amount of electricity used to power the cars creates additional particulate pollution.

“Coal is often the critical factor,” says Jeremy Michalek, professor of engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. The New York Times.

“If you have electric cars in Pittsburgh that plug in at night and cause nearby coal-fired power plants to burn more coal to charge them, then the climate benefits won’t be as great and you could actually get more air pollution. ‘

Additionally, lithium-ion batteries that power electric vehicles are made from materials such as cobalt and lithium, which have been linked to environmental problems.

Mining cobalt releases toxic chemicals and gases that end up in the environment. When extracting metals from the ore, sulfur oxide is released and pollutes the air.

Last month, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) updated the report national air quality standards with a new rule to reduce the amount of air pollution.

“Today’s action is a critical step forward that will better protect workers, families and communities from the dangerous and costly consequences of particulate matter pollution,” said EPA Administrator Michael Regan.

‘The science is clear: soot pollution is one of the most dangerous forms of air pollution and is linked to a range of serious and potentially fatal diseases, including asthma and heart attacks.’

EVs are beneficial to the environment because they have no tailpipe emissions and therefore produce fewer greenhouse gases than the average gas-powered car.

According to the EPAOver the life of an EV, the total greenhouse gas emissions associated with manufacturing, charging and operating the vehicle are typically lower than those of a standard vehicle.

Fitness fanatic Sage Christine (@sagechristine0) always keeps it real online.

In a TikTok videoshe called out people praising the “legging legs” trend, which is a common topic online.

It's a beauty standard that has become controversial because it tells TikTok users what their legs should look like in the style.

It forms the ideal 'legging legs' that are long and thin, with a thigh gap.

“If you post that you're happy you have leggings legs you're part of the problem so stop,” she wrote in the video's caption.

She stood in her kitchen preparing a protein shake as she spoke angrily to her audience.

“I swear every morning I open this app, and there's a new reason that we should all be insecure, that we should all not love our bodies,”

She wasn't happy about it at all and drew attention to the 'thigh epidemic' she remembered from when she was 13 years old.

“That literally scarred me,” she said.

She said it was “exactly the same” and that everyone had them because we have legs and wear leggings.

“Boom. We all have legging legs, so just stop,” she said right before.

She interacted with many other viewers in the video's comments section about their shared opinions.

“Ughhh yeah, I hated the leg slit era. Well saiddd,” someone commented.

“Yes, that should remain in the past!!” Sage wrote.

“When I had 'legging legs' I was so incredibly unhealthy,” said another.

“No, really, like we need to stop glorifying it,” Sage replied.

Sage also agreed with a TikTok user's comment that read, “Thank you for speaking out against body insecurity and toxic trends.”
