Taylor Swift strengthened her love for Britain with one Greggs sausage roll trolley for her first sold-out Eras tour show in Edinburgh.

The superstar, 34, will kick off the UK leg of her highly anticipated run in triumphant style on Friday evening following her shows in America and Australia.

And to the delight of the packed crowd in the Scottish capital, she even had a van from the much-loved British bakery chain parked outside Murrayfield Stadium.

The blue food truck, complete with glitter, read ‘Flake It Off’ on the back – a play on her hit Shake It Off.

“This is our place, we make the sandwiches,” was also etched on the side, a fun take on 2019’s Lover.

The first of three sold out shows Edinburgh will see her perform a catalog of hits from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD).

The biggest highlight will undoubtedly be her secret ‘surprise’ slot – a period during concerts that the singer dedicates to two ‘mysterious’ songs that she alternates with each performance.

Before the concert, Swifties responded cheerfully when the singer landed in Edinburgh on Friday afternoon.

The US megastar arrived around lunchtime and was draped in umbrellas before being whisked away in a darkened car with a police escort.

The attempt to stay out of it the view reminiscent of a similar trick Taylor played when she arrived Los Angeles airport in February before supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl.

While Taylor had no problem finding somewhere to stay, her fans had a more difficult task finding accommodation in Edinburgh as hotels quickly booked up despite their rates tripling during the megastar’s three-night residency.

It comes after Matty Healy revealed he was ‘completely blindsided’ by ex Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department after the singer attacked him in a few songs on the record-breaking eleventh studio album.

The 1975 frontman, 35, and the Grammy winner briefly dated last year from April until their split just a few months later in June – and the singer seemingly took aim at Healy in songs like Fortnight and Guilty As Sin.

In the song Fortnight – featuring Post Malone – Taylor also seemed to focus on her short affair with Matty.

The pair were first linked in April 2023 – the same month it was confirmed that Swift and ex Joe Alwyn had split.

During the month of May, the two were spotted holding hands together in New York and also stopped at a recording studio together. He also attended a few of her Eras Tour concerts in both Nashville and Philadelphia.

However, in early June, Matty and Taylor ended their romance, with a source revealing it People at the time, “She had fun with him, but it was always casual. They are no longer in a romantic relationship.”

The excitement about Taylor’s opening date in Britain had been building for hours among ticket holders in line since early Friday morning in an attempt to get the best possible spot.

Swifties waited from 3am in frigid temperatures of just seven degrees outside Edinburgh’s Murrayfield stadium.

Fans then covered their sparkling outfits with waterproof jackets and some even resorted to wearing plastic bags over their shoes to stay dry.

Loyal fans had set up tents to set up a makeshift camp outside the home of Scottish rugby overnight.

At least twelve tents were set up close to the stadium gates as fans traveled from across the country to be among the first in line to see the Anti-Hero star.

Other Swifties packed hotels in Edinburgh’s historic center, having flown in from the far corners of the world as the pop queen kicks off the UK leg of her Eras tour in Edinburgh tonight, Saturday and Sunday, before heading to Liverpool, Cardiff and Wembley .

On Friday morning the first few hardy souls began to gather at Roseburn Park to wait for the entrance gates to open at 3pm.

Taylor was also announced with a ‘Scottish welcome’ by The Reel Time Band, an eleven-piece band made up of eight highland pipers and three drummers, who performed her song Love Story on the steps outside the venue, singing ‘era- fied’ wore. ‘kilts.

Roddy Deans, pipe major of The Reel Time Band, said: ‘Taylor’s tunes translate surprisingly well to traditional Scottish instruments.

“We’re all big music fans, so we’re thrilled to welcome Taylor to Scotland in the best way we know how.

‘It was a lot of fun to recreate Love Story on the bagpipes and put this ensemble together.’

It took the band 32 hours of rehearsals to practice their version of Taylor’s song, and they’ve played for people all over the world, including the royal family.
