The North Sydney seat could be abolished at the next federal election under a draft proposal from the Australian Electoral Commission.
It is surrounded by the Labour-held seats of Reid and Bennelong, Liberal Bradfield and independent Warringah.

It was the first time since the 1993 election that the seat had been won by an independent party, and by the Liberals since then.
The highlighted change follows the proposed abolition of the seat of Higgins in Melbourne and the creation of a new electorate in Perth called Bullwinkel.
The redistricting commission has proposed changing the boundaries of 39 electorates.
The proposed redistributions will affect more than 710,000 voters, who will change their electorate.
Objections to the redistricting draft can be submitted until July 12.
