Terrifying video of killer pilot Robert Brown’s wedding to Joanna Simpson reveals chilling words before he shot his wife
A HAUNTING video from a killer pilot’s wedding has revealed chilling words spoken before he punched his wife.
Robert Brown killed Joanna Simpson in a terrifying attack in which she was hit on the head fourteen times with a claw hammer before her body was dumped in the boot of a car.
The fatal horror took place on Halloween in 2010 at the family home in Ascot, Berks, while their two children played nearby.
Joanna’s tragic body was found five days later buried in a pre-dug grave.
Now, in unseen footage from the couple’s wedding day, Brown told Joanna she was “perfect”, while he bragged “I can’t help being picky”.
In a new ITV documentary airing on Monday night, Brown says in the clip: “I have to give a little thanks to my mum and dad.
“I’m sure you never thought you’d see the day I got married, but I can’t help being picky.
“You have to go for what is perfect.”
His eyes turned dark, almost black, cold, dark, black eyes
Joanna told her friend
The couple showed up like anyone else on what was supposed to be the best day of their lives and danced the night away.
But behind closed doors, their relationship was violent – with an ongoing period of domestic violence which contained coercive controlisolation and intimidation.
Brown, that one British Airways pilot, made a plan to kill Joanna and carried out his plans just a week before their divorce was finalized.
When family members realized it Johanna was missingBrown refused to help Police with their investigation into missing persons.
Sick and twisted, Brown then turned himself in, confessed to the murder and told officers where they would find Joanna’s body.
In the documentaryThe British Airways Killer, Joanna’s friend Hetti Barkworth-Nanton talks about a time her boyfriend told her Brown was holding a knife to her chest.
Hetti said: “She said to me, and I have heard it from so many victims since, that ‘his eyes turned dark, almost black, cold, dark, black eyes’.
“And he said, ‘I’m going to do it.’
“So she said, ‘What will happen to the children?’
“He didn’t care what would happen to the children.”
Brown denied threatening his ex-wife with a knife.
He was sentenced to 26 years in prison and was due to be released in November after serving only half of that.
But Attorney General Alex Chalk used ‘detention powers’ to keep him behind bars.
A judicial review began on February 14 in London Supreme Court of lawyers for Brown, 60, arguing that proper policy was not followed due to the high-profile nature of the case.
That turned out before a decision was made Mr. Chalk had received letters from 220 MPs expressing their concerns about the matter.
The TV show follows Joanna’s family and friends as they go to Westminster, campaign to keep him behind bars.
The British Airways Killer airs tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
