Terry Dubrow drops hints about how filming is taking place for season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County go.
“The new season of housewives is currently being shot. I have been instructed not to talk about it, and I promise I won't, except to say, 'Wow,'” Terry, 65, married to RHOC star Heather Dubrowtold exclusively We weekly on Wednesday, January 31, while promoting Season 8 Failed.
“I am a househusband and I don't want to get involved in the fight. I think the struggle is a forest fire that you have to be involved in,” he continued. “I can't wait to see what happens next.”
Heather, 55, struggled in season 17 of RHOCwhich came to an end in September 2023. She mainly butted heads with costar Tamra Judgewhose Gina Kirschenheiter accused of talking behind Heather's back and 'maligning' her career.
While you're talking to Us at BravoCon in November 2023, Heather confessed that she was tempted to walk away from the show after the events of season 17.
“I think at that moment I thought, 'Ah, I can't do this. I'm done,” she said. “It was so much, and of course we filmed so much. There was more and more that wasn't even shown. So it definitely took its toll on me.”
Terry, for his part, told me Us Wednesday that despite the “really mean” treatment his wife faced last season, Heather and her costars are now in a better place.
“A lot of the relationships have been very restored. “One of the keys to being a good homemaker is that in addition to being your authentic self, you have to let things go,” he said. “Heather is very good at letting things go, and they all realize that Heather is sweet, Heather is the glue that holds people together. And I think she really has the potential – we'll see what happens – but will play a role in helping to rebuild relationships and get the group back into a cohesive unit.
Terry also teased that he's already gotten wind of some juicy storylines from season 18.
“There have been some things that have happened that I've heard about. I said, 'Really?' So it will be a very interesting season,” he said.
Meanwhile, Heather gave Us some insight into her state of mind while attending the American Heart Association's Red Dress Collection concert on Wednesday.
“I think when I came back in season 16, it was almost like a little culture shock. … It was kind of like, 'Oh my God, how did I get here?' And figuring out the dynamic, because I hadn't been on the show for so long, but last season it was great to have Tamra back, but then we butted heads. That wasn't great,” Heather said. “I don't know, you know, I'm so grateful for the platform and one of the main reasons why we came back was to showcase our family and try to help other families who don't have the resources or the privilege that we do to have. And I feel like we've been able to do that even in a small way and start conversations and other people's families. That means so much to me that when things happen on the show, it's good.
In addition RHOCTerry is also excited about the final season of his own show Failedwhich is now being broadcast.
“This is my favorite season,” Terry said of the show, which follows himself and a fellow doctor Paul Nassif while fixing plastic surgeries gone wrong. “I actually thought we were going to have a lot more complications than we did. We said something like, 'Okay, we're taking these impossible cases, there's going to be complications. There will be some mess at the Failed doctors this season,” which is so scary when you think about it. But I think you should watch. I think we had a great season and it went very well.”
Failed airs on E! Thursday at 10pm ET. A premiere date for season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County is not set.
