The Block’s serial bidder, Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli, was stopped by police in Melbourne on Tuesday while showing off his latest luxury car.

The flamboyant entrepreneur, 34, was stopped while driving his $2.5 million McLaren P1 without number plates.

Adrian joked that his sports car was seized after the routine check.

“Welcome to Melbourne… Taken in 15 minutes,” he wrote.

He then assured his followers that he was joking, adding, “That was all a joke. Just a routine check. The police were great.”

One fan jokingly commented, “I’d pull you over to check out the car too.”

“You can’t have anything nice when you live in Melbourne,” a second person joked.

Earlier this year, Portelli caused a stir when he filmed one of his luxury cars being lifted into his 57th floor penthouse.

He shared photos on Instagram of the $2 million car being lifted into the $39 million penthouse in the Sapphire by the Gardens tower in East Melbourne.

A report describing the car lifted into his home as a “rich flex” sparked a wave of criticism, with Greens leader Adam Bandt leading the backlash.

“Labor is giving this guy a $9,000 tax cut while people are starving on $52 a day,” Bandt wrote on Twitter.

Mr Bandt referred to the third-stage tax cuts due to come into effect in the 2024-2025 financial year, which were introduced by Scott Morrison’s government and which the Albanian government has supported so far.

The cuts will eliminate the 37 percent marginal tax bracket, lower the tax rate from 32.5 percent to 30 percent and create a new top marginal tax rate of 45 percent for those earning more than $200,000.

It means that anyone earning between $45,000 and $200,000 will pay the same marginal tax rate. Voters with an income of $60,000 are eligible for a $375 tax cut, while those making more than $200,000 are eligible for $9,075.

Richard Denniss, executive director of left-wing think tank The Australia Institute, tweeted: ‘The cost of living crisis is really biting the rich… push through the $250 billion in Stage 3 tax cuts so more Australians can afford them. to hoist their race car collection into their penthouse.’

Rachel Withers, editor of The Monthly, tweeted a similar comment about the flashy spectacle.

‘People on JobSeeker get an extra $2.86 a day!’ she wrote.

Portelli made The Block history last month when he bought Steph and Gian’s house for a whopping $5 million.

He also bid $4.2 million on sisters Eliza and Liberty’s properties and then made the strange move of bidding against himself – which has never happened before on the show.

Despite helping two teams rake in a combined $2.7 million in profits, Portelli wasn’t done showing off his deep pockets when he rushed in to pick up Kyle and Leslie’s house.

House 1 had a reserve of $2.97 million, and there was hope as Danny Wallis had not yet purchased a house, and neither had celebrity bidder Dave Hughes.

However, Kyle and Leslie’s home struggled to meet reserve, with the auction absolutely teeming before Portelli jumped in and took the price to $3.1 million.
