The famous moms who clean up with baby baths

Most of us grew up with a cheap and cheerful Johnson’s No More Tears to get us through bath time. But in today’s world of ‘mumfluencers’, only organic, beautifully packaged drinks will do.

Stars from Kylie Jenner to Spice Girl Emma Bunton have created baby baths. But are these bubble baths and shampoos just another way to wring money out of fans, or are they worth investing in?

With the help of her three young children, LUCY TOBIN ran many baths to find out…

Beauty mogul Kylie Jenner, the youngest member of the Kardashian clan, launched her baby toiletry brand after the birth of her daughter Stormi, now five.

The range is small – a shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath, balm and moisturizer – but is free of parabens and sulphates.

The attractive blue and pink ombre bottles don’t need to be hidden under the sink, but at £17 I was skeptical about the price tag: was it brand over substance? – but this is the only baby shampoo that didn’t make my toddler scream at her eyes, and she loved the bubble bath. 4/5

Emma Bunton co-founded baby skincare and diaper company Kit & Kin in 2017 because her children, Beau and Tate, then ten and six, suffered from eczema, and she struggled to find products that didn’t irritate their skin.

Now Kit & Kin has eight skin care products, a cleaning line and an eco diaper range.

The bubble bath made soft bubbles instead of a foam party, and didn’t have much of a scent, but it was perfect for my youngest’s sensitive skin. We all loved the body butter, which made the skin super soft. 5/5

This Morning presenter and mother-of-three Rochelle Humes, former singer of The Saturdays, is a side hustle maestro. In 2020, she launched the children’s toiletry line My Little Coco.

The hot tub provided nice silky bath water, although it wasn’t very fizzy. The pump tops came in handy for washing squishy toddler hairs.

And the detangling water worked great, but left a sticky feeling. 4/5

ANTI-ALLERGENS FROM ACTRESS ALBA

Fantastic Four actress Jessica Alba suffered from allergies as a child and started The Honest Company after developing a rash while using baby detergent as an adult.

The body lotion was easily absorbed and left the skin feeling softer, but the almond scent was weak. We loved the conditioning detangling spray – it made a loathed nit hunt a lot less stressful! 3/5

THE FROZEN STAR BUDGET OPTION

The voice of Anna in Frozen, Hollywood actress Kristen Bell, mother of two daughters, founded Hello Bello with her husband.

The couple felt it was unfair that parents had to choose between their baby and their budget. Hello Bello’s products all cost £4 each.

The products all worked well, making for a lovely bubble bath, and my toddler loved her silky hair after shampooing. I loved the natural ingredients, but I wasn’t crazy about the chemical-like smell. 3/5
