Meg plays Kate Middleton in the sixth and final season of The Crown, with the series chronicling the beginning of the Duchess’ romance with Prince William.

When she was cast in the role, Meg had no official acting credits to her name, and auditioned after achieving an A* in drama in her A-levels at St Crispin’s School in Wokingham, Berkshire.

She had previously only taken part in school productions and had a part-time job at Legoland in nearby Windsor.

William and Kate became friends in their first year at university before romance blossomed after William spotted ‘hot’ Kate walking down a catwalk for a charity fashion show in a sheer dress.

Returning for their second year at the University of St. Andrews, the couple and two friends chose to live off campus in a quaint two-story house in the city.

They moved into 13A Hope Street, which cost just £100 a week each, with flatmates Etonian Fergus Boyd and Olivia Bleasdale.

The modest home included a small kitchen, where William is said to have tried to impress Kate with his culinary skills.

He had moved to the prestigious University of Fife in 2001 after completing his studies at Eton College. They graduated in 2005 and William proposed five years later.
