TikTok chef Abhishesh Bista from Rockhampton accused of grooming and sexually assaulting teenage girls

A popular TikTok chef who once had more than 67,000 followers allegedly tried to “seduce” and sexually assault teenage girls, a court has heard

Abhishesh Bista, 27, a chef and part-time entrepreneur from Rockhampton in Central Queensland, has been charged with a range of offences, including two counts of sexual assault, three counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 and two counts of indecent treatment of a child. child under 15 years old (permit).

His lawyers this week applied to the Rockhampton District Court for three separate trials to test the allegations of three complainants aged between 14 and 15. The courier post reported.

Making his decision on the application, Judge Jeff Clarke said Bista had allegedly kissed, fondled girls and had “other sexual contact with girls who are all the same age… over the same period of time.”

“The defendant is alleged to have engaged in similar grooming behaviour,” Judge Clarke told the court.

‘To try to seduce the girls.

‘What is special is the risk that the suspect took to (allegedly) offend while that was the case [others around].’

Judge Clarke rejected the request to hear the charges in separate trials, saying any biases that might arise from having multiple complainants would be dealt with by appropriate jury leadership.

The case will be heard in court next Wednesday.

A pre-admission hearing is scheduled for August 5.

More than 67,000 fans previously followed Bista on TikTok. The popular account has now been deleted.
