Tom Brady REFUSES to take responsibility for ex Gisele Bundchen’s split from Joaquim Valente – and feels blaming his Netflix roast for their break up is a ‘cop out’
Tom Brady is refusing to take the blame for his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen’s split from Joaquim Valente – after it was claimed his sizzling Netflix roast was a major factor in her split from the jiu jitsu instructor.
Earlier this week it was reported that the Vogue model, 43, and Valente, 34, called it quits as he struggled with their romance becoming so public after the one-off show, which made a crude reference to the Brazilian fitness trainer.
But insiders close to Brady have said linking him to the split is a ‘total cop out’ and insist he would never try to ‘sabotage’ her love life.
“Tom feels like he doesn’t have to take any blame for Gisele’s relationship successes or problems,” a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.
“He loves it and isn’t trying to sabotage anything.

Rumors of a relationship began swirling when Valente was pictured vacationing with Bundchen and her children in Costa Rica just two weeks after her divorce from Brady.
“He needs to live his life and co-parent and get to a place where it’s healthy and happy with Gisele.
“It serves him nothing to try to damage or disrupt the relationship she once has. He believes he is not to blame at all.
‘At the end of the day, everyone is an adult and you have to deal with relationships, whether they are good or bad, taking it one day at a time.
“You can’t blame others for what might not work; it’s a subterfuge to put the blame on Tom.’
The insider claimed Bundchen had been “stressed out” long before the roast, with the pair fighting to make their romance work while Valente struggled with life in the spotlight.
“Gisele has been stressed about making things work with Joaquim for a long time, and as time goes on, he’s having trouble paying attention to them,” the source continued.
‘He expected something from it, but people talking about how he destroyed a marriage and everything else mentioned at the Roast affected him profoundly.
‘The relationship is under pressure. If they want it back, it will take some time before it works again.”

Bundchen’s relationship with Valente has reportedly “deteriorated” after Brady’s Netflix roast
InTouch Weekly reported on Wednesday that Bundchen was single again after 12 months of dating.
“The spotlight was too much for him,” a source told the publication. ‘Joaquim is an ordinary boy. He’s not used to all the attention he gets.
‘Joaquim became part of the joke. People even started asking him if he was the reason for their divorce. He hated that’.
And Bundchen reportedly believes that if her ex-husband hadn’t cooked, her romance would have been on firmer ground.
“She blames Tom,” the source added. “By agreeing to make the roast, he essentially placed a target on Joaquim’s back.”

They also enjoyed trips together to their native Brazil, and in February they were pictured kissing passionately in images obtained by DailyMail.com.
Bundchen was said to be “deeply disappointed” by the jokes made at her expense during Brady’s roast – in which several shocking jokes were made about her and also about Valente.
“How bad would it be for Tom… omg, if I knew your ex-wife’s new boyfriend could beat you while he ate hers,” comedian Nikki Glaser joked during the live broadcast.
Her other statements included: “Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying yes to this piece of meat was when you said, ‘Hey honey, you should try jiu-jitsu.’
“Tom doesn’t feel like he should take any blame for Gisele’s relationship successes or problems,” a source exclusively told DailyMail.com
“You have seven rings… well, eight now that Gisele has given hers back.”
At the time, a source told People that Bundchen had remained furious about the special, saying she was “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday night’s roast show.”
‘As usual, [Gisele’s] “The priority is to support her children who have been affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcast,” the insider added.
Last month, Tom said he regretted agreeing to his Netflix roast because his children were “affected” by the jokes.
The retired sports legend became the target of a series of cutting jokes during the May 5 live special at the Kia Forum, California, about his divorce from Gisele.
Tom told The Pivot podcast: “I loved it when the jokes were about me. she liked it so much.
“I didn’t like the way this affected my children.”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion added that he had not carefully thought through his decision to participate and said he had learned a “good lesson.”
“You don’t always see the full picture,” he said. ‘It’s a good lesson for me as a parent. It will make me a better parent as I move forward.
“At the same time, I’m glad everyone who was there had a lot of fun.”

While he regretted the mocking comments made to his children, he shrugged off his ex-wife’s “hurt” and “outrage” over the portrayal of their marriage.
“It just seems to Tom that Gisele will get mad at him for all kinds of things and there’s nothing he can do to change that,” a source told DailyMail.com at the time.
“He will continue to try to be in her good graces for the kids, but he also has to stand up for himself and going through the Roast was something he wanted and needed to happen.
“And he thinks that if this wasn’t the case, something else would have upset her, so there’s not much he can do to fix that.”
The former couple met in 2006 and tied the knot in a ceremony in Santa Monica in 2009.
Their son Benjamin, 14, was born that same year, and they later welcomed daughter Vivian, now 11, in 2012.
The supermodel also served as stepmom to Brady’s son John, 16, whom he shares with Bridget Moynahan.
News of Brady and Bundchen’s divorce broke in September 2022, and their $733 million divorce was finalized the following month.
