Hiddleston, 42, appeared to embrace Loki’s color scheme, wearing a dark green velvet suit and bow tie with a white shirt. Meanwhile, Ashton, 39, dazzled in a sparkling dark blue dress with a cape with silver shoulder details.
The couple, who got engaged in early 2022, held hands and wrapped their arms around each other’s waists as they smiled for the cameras. During the awards ceremony, they were spotted chatting with each other Ian McKellen, Paapa Essiedu, Rosa Robson and other British theater stars.
Ashton and Hiddleston met while working in the theater. They played a leading role Deception on London’s West End in 2018 and brought the play to the United States the following year. The play was over, but their relationship was just beginning. They confirmed they were dating when they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Tony Awards in September 2021. “I’m so proud of her, yeah, and she’s great in the Marvels,” Hiddleston shared during the podcast while discussing trade tips about playing a supervillain. “I only saw it recently. Yes, it was crazy to share those stories. I mean, I kind of want her to talk about her own work in her own way, but yeah, I’m so proud of her. We definitely had some laughs about zippers and bathroom breaks along the way.”
Ashton previously shared Hiddleston’s words of wisdom, including his costume warning. “He also had some really good practical advice, which was, ‘Make sure you have enough zippers to go to the toilet in your costume,’” she said. Entertainment weekly in July.
That wasn’t his only advice, however. “He said, ‘If you come into this with an open heart and a great work ethic and just want to give the fans a great experience, you’re going to have a great experience on those sets.’ He really gave me strength in that way,” she shared.
