Kansas City Chiefs athletes and their families are supporting each other in light of the tragic shooting during the 2024 Super Bowl parade.

“Yesterday was tough. I'm not going to let evil take away all the happiness and memories of the day. The team and the city deserved a party and what a nice parade we had.” Emily Bosmanwho is married to Chiefs tight end Matt Bosmanwrote via Instagram on Thursday, February 15. “I will never forget the chaos and fear that followed the parade. Our family will continue to pray for the shooting victims. We love KC! ❤️💛.”

Emily shared several images from the rally, including a team dinner. Travis Kelceanother tight end for the team, and Brittany Mahomesquarterback's wife Patrick Mahomeswere also in the group photo.

The Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11, and celebrated their achievements during a victory parade in Kansas City on Wednesday, February 14. Shots were fired at the end of the rally. Local police officers later confirmed that one participant, DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, died and more than twenty others were injured. KC police have taken three suspects into custody, two of whom are minors. An investigation is underway.

All Chiefs athletes, employees and their families were taken to safety after the shooting.

“I just remember the guards rushing us through the doors and saying, 'Come on, hurry, hurry, hurry,'” offensive lineman Trey Smith remembered during the Thursday broadcast of Good morning America. “They said, 'This is not a joke. It's a life and death situation. ''

Smith, 24, added: “Right before I run in there, there's a little kid standing in front of me, so I just grabbed him and yanked him up and said, 'You're jumping in here with me, buddy.' I don't know how many people were in the closet, maybe twenty plus.”

The NFL stars are also supporting the injured victims, including nearly a dozen children.

“The Chiefs players have been very supportive, as has the Chiefs organization. They have contacted us and we are dealing with it.” Lisa Augustine, the senior media relations manager at Children's Mercy Kansas City said during a news conference Thursday. “We want to make sure we focus on our patients first, and our children and families and our staff first, and then we'll help them do that.”

Taylor Swift34-year-old Kelce's girlfriend also lends a hand.

“I send my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” the 34-year-old pop star wrote on the GoFundMe page for Lopez-Galvan's memorial, donating $100,000.
