Trump insists he will NOT be ‘dictator’ in the White House and promises ‘bedlam’ under a Biden who ‘can’t put two sentences together’: the ex-president says he ‘will have no time for retaliation’ if he wins

Former President Donald Trump got to command a stage all to himself at a prime-time Fox News town hall in Iowa, where he was cheered by Iowa supporters but still forced to declare outright that he “wasn’t going to be a dictator.”

Trump made the comment when co-host Bret Baier asked him about his recent statement that there would be “bedlam” in the country if his criminal charges continued.

That entailed a lengthy explanation from Trump about his comments to fellow Fox host Sean Hannity. Trump had told Hannity he would be a “dictator” for a day, in comments that drew backlash.

‘No, I’m not going to be a dictator. I’m going to make it like we did,” Trump said.

He accused the media of not emphasizing parts of his initial comment, when he said he would only be a dictator on energy policy and law and order.

“This is just a political ploy – Trump is a dictator, he wants to be a dictator,” Trump said.

Trump was asked a question by a supporter in the audience who said friends say there would be chaos during his second term.

“We have chaos today. Look at today as Hunter Biden goes to Congress and sits in Congress, Trump said.

He took the stage after criticizing rival Nikki Haley in online posts and mocking former Gov. Chris Christie, who announced in New Hampshire that he was dropping out of the race.

Trump has a sustained lead in the polls in Iowa, leading 50 percent in several polls and leading his rivals by more than 30 points.

The event was moderated by Fox hosts Bret Baier and Martha McCallum, while DeSantis and Haley debated Drake University on CNN.

Many of the questioners identified themselves as Trump supporters, and his supporters shouted messages of support during breaks.

“We love you Trump,” a supporter shouted as the Doobie Brothers played during a break. “We’re rooting for you, Trump,” shouted another.

A supporter named Kim from Grimes asked what Trump would do about millions of migrants who had already entered the country illegally.

“We’re going to have the largest deportation effort in the history of our country. We’ll bring everyone back,” Trump promised.

Denise, a Trump-leaning Iowan, asked, “In the spirit of making America great again, can you do something about the sanctuary cities?”

That prompted Trump to denounce illegal immigration, saying that “a lot of those people come from prisons and jails,” as well as from “insane asylums.” He said some were “terrorists.”

The format allowed him to quash the “Russia, Russia, Russia” Russia investigation as he went after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over new allegations that she hired a romantic partner to help her prosecute co-defendants of Trump.

Baer asked him about a Democratic House report that his companies made $8 million from foreign governments during his presidency.

“If I have a hotel and someone comes from China, that’s a small amount,” Trump said.
