Donald Trump calls Taylor Swift ‘unusually beautiful’ and questions if she is ‘legitimately liberal’ or if it’s all an act

Former President Donald Trump calls Taylor Swift “unusually beautiful” and questions whether she is a “legitimate liberal” or if it’s all an act, according to experts from the upcoming book.

The ex-president discussed the megastar in an interview for “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass” by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh. It will be released later this month.

When Setoodeh asked Trump what he thought of the “Shake it Off” singer in November 2023, the ex-president praised the billionaire artist.

‘I think she’s beautiful, very beautiful! I think she’s very beautiful,” Trump told him, according to an excerpt released to Variety.

Trump also said, “I hear she’s very talented” and “I actually think she’s very beautiful, unusually beautiful.”

But the Republican presidential candidate suspects that the admiration is not mutual.

I think she’s a liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump,” he said.

Ahead of the 2016 election, Swift kept quiet about her political leanings, leading some to suspect that she was actually a secret Republican.

But during the 2018 midterm elections, Swift voiced strong support for Tennessee Democrats, including Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and House candidate Jim Cooper.

At the time, she explained it this way in an Instagram post: “In the past I have been reluctant to express my political opinions publicly, but various events in my life and in the world over the past two years have made me feel like I am now very different.’

“I have always cast my vote, and always will, based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights that I believe we all deserve in this country,” she added.

In 2020, the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer came out in the full confidence of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

“I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election. I believe that under their leadership, America has a chance to begin the healing process it so desperately needs,” she said in an interview with V Magazine ahead of the election.

She also tagged Trump in an X-post blasting him: “After fanning the flames of white supremacy and racism throughout your presidency, do you have the audacity to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts, the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November.”

But Swift has yet to make an endorsement in the 2024 presidential race.

During Trump’s interview for the book, he questioned whether Swift is truly a liberal, despite her public statements of support in recent years.

“She’s a liberal, or is that just an act?” Trump asked. “She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act?’

“It amazes me that a country star can be successful as a liberal,” Trump added.

But there are many prominent country stars with ties to the Democratic party, including Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw and Willie Nelson.

In her documentary “Miss Americana,” released in 2020, Swift addressed her decision to speak publicly about politics, going on to say, “I have to be on the right side of history.”

“These aren’t your dad’s celebrities and these aren’t your dad’s Republicans,” Swift said.

Swift is a close ally of the LGBTQ community. More recently, she has criticized the United States Supreme Court after it overturned Roe v Wade, ending the constitutional right to abortion in 2022.

The New York Times reported earlier this year that the Biden campaign is actively seeking Swift’s endorsement.
