US Air Force captain probed after filming himself speeding at nearly 100mph in a Tesla Cybertruck while only using pinky finger to turn

Air Force officials are investigating a captain who posted a viral video of himself driving nearly 100 miles per hour while speeding down a residential street. Vegas in a Tesla Cybertruck, according to reports.

Captain Matthew Wallace, who is stationed at Creech Air Force Base, could be seen using only his pinky finger to make dangerously fast turns in a video shared to his X account on June 2.

The video shows Wallace driving down a seemingly empty residential street, then flicking his pinky finger before taking his hands off the steering wheel and using just that tiny finger to turn the vehicle.

After completing the turn, Wallace put both hands back on the wheel and accelerated, with the speedometer showing him reaching approximately 83 mph (133 km/h) within 10 seconds.

‘Cybertruck makes a U-turn with only my pinky finger. Check mate,” Wallace said in his now-deleted post.

A 57 km/h speed limit sign was visible on the street when Wallace reached a speed of 90 km/h in the Cybertruck.

This is what Major Joost Verduyn, spokesman for the Fifteenth Air Force, said CLASS their command is aware of the video and is investigating the matter.

Wallace responded to critics of his video, saying, “Do you notice that there isn’t a single car or pedestrian on the road?”

“Do you think maybe I was smart enough to contact my police friends and let them know I was taking a test drive and they cordoned off the area for me? Nice try buttercup.’

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told the local news station that they are not aware of any officers closing streets for Wallace.

They noted that based on this specific video, they cannot cite the driver for speeding and that investigations arising from the video are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Tesla Cybertrucks have been involved in one series of accidents since the long-awaited introduction of electric vehicles in November.

In May, one of the futuristic pickup trucks was captured on video trying to cross a river in California.

The Cybertruck attempted to drive across the water’s edge but was caught before its rear tires could reach land.

The driver reversed to the opposite edge in an attempt to gain speed, but again failed to cross successfully.
