Federal investigators launched an investigation into sexual misconduct claims against WWE co-founder Vince McMahon in 2022, The Wall Street Journal has revealed. Since then, New York prosecutors have reportedly contacted at least four women who have made allegations against the 78-year-old billionaire.

The news comes a week after McMahon was accused of sex trafficking in a new lawsuit filed by a former employee, Janel Grant, who claims the wrestling promoter defecated on her head during a threesome. He resigned from the company last week while denying the allegations. McMahon has not been charged with any crime in the case.

Grant previously agreed to a $3 million settlement in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement in 2022 before filing the federal lawsuit against McMahon in Connecticut last week. In that filing, obtained by DailyMail.com, Grant claims McMahon stopped making payments after the first $1 million installment, and she is now seeking to have that agreement void.

Additionally, Grant claims she suffered bruising and bleeding after McMahon forcibly penetrated her with sex toys, which he named after his wrestlers. She also claims that in June 2021, McMahon and another WWE executive locked her in a room at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, and took turns sexually assaulting her during the workday. The married McMahon is also accused of trafficking Grant to other men and sharing nude photos of the plaintiff.

The grand jury subpoena stemming from the federal investigation seeks communications between McMahon and his female accusers, including awards, the Journal said.

In addition to Grant, other accusers named in the grand jury subpoena include a WWE contractor who claims McMahon sent her unsolicited nude photos and sexually harassed her. Additionally, a female former WWE wrestler claims McMahon forced her to give him oral sex.

The subpoena reportedly names former WWE referee Rita Chatterton, who previously made public allegations of rape against McMahon, who has long denied the allegation.

A spa manager at a Southern California resort is also included in the subpoena after allegedly claiming McMahon assaulted her.

According to the Journal, the subpoena also names a former WWE employee. The woman claims she was demoted after breaking off an affair with John Laurinaitis, the former WWE head of talent relations, who is also named in Grant's lawsuit.

In response to Grant's lawsuit, Laurinaitis' attorney, Edward Brennan, issued a denial on behalf of his client: “We deny all allegations and will vigorously defend the charges against Mr. Laurinaitis in the appropriate context.”

While resigning last week, McMahon insisted he would “vigorously defend myself against these baseless allegations.”

“Out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all the employees and Superstars who have helped make WWE the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign steps. with immediate effect, my chairmanship of the board and the board of directors of TKO.'

The lawsuit came as McMahon was already reducing his role within the company. In fact, he briefly left the WWE in 2022, when allegations of his infidelity first surfaced in a Wall Street Journal report.

And last week, former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was named to the board of directors of TKO, the umbrella company formed by the UFC-WWE merger. Meanwhile, another former wrestler, Triple H (aka Paul Levesque), has replaced McMahon as the WWE's Chief Content Officer.
