For those who aren’t following it yet Shereene Idrissbe ready to meet your new favorite skin expert.

The clinician, a board-certified dermatologist from New York, regularly goes viral on the app — whether she’s recommending a beauty treatment or debunking skincare myths.

It’s not hard to see why, as the expert has virtually flawless skin – despite being in her early 40s and being a busy mum with her own clinic.

While she’s no stranger to DIY beauty treatments, the skincare specialist has warned her 732,000 followers about the dangers of one viral beauty trend.

Despite beauty gurus recommending that you use hemorrhoid creams to banish under-eye bags, the doctor has created a Tiktok to debunk the dangerous myth.

“We love a hack, but not all bottom products are created equal,” she teased, explaining why she uses a diaper rash cream instead.

She urged her fans not to use hemorrhoid creams around their eyes, revealing that these medicinal products often contain two ingredients: phenylephrine and steroids.

“Phenyl-ephrin plus the steroid around the eye will not only increase your risk of glaucoma,” she said emphatically, arguing: “…the steroid will thin your skin in the long run, reducing the appearance of your wrinkle and redness worsens. around your eyes.

“So you look shriveled and tall and you probably can’t even see properly because you have glaucoma,” she added.

Instead, Dr. Shereene suggested using a diaper rash cream, such as Sudocream or Triple Paste, to slow the aging process.

I put diaper cream on my face and you should too – forget using Vaseline, my method is messy but my skin is baby smooth

She further told her fans: “Diaper rash cream does the exact opposite, it’s just soothing and calming because it contains zinc oxide… but again, not all diaper rash creams are the same.”

She then revealed that some diaper creams contain steroids, such as cortisone, which you should also avoid applying to your face.

For anyone who bought hemorrhoid cream in hopes of banishing their dark circles, don’t despair, because the skin expert had some sage advice.

Instead of throwing it away, she shared that you can actually use the topical cream to treat pimples, especially if you want to get rid of them quickly.

“The only exception to the rule is if you have a huge, juicy pimple on your face, probably on the tip of your nose or on your check, and you’re getting married tomorrow morning…” she laughed.

If you’re still looking for a way to stop fine lines and dark circles around your eyes, the doctor recommends trying a treatment with ingredients that goal those specific issues.

For example, if you want to banish puffiness and darkness, you should have vitamin C, niacinamide, and ginseng extract in your eye cream.

Alternatively, you can use retinol-based products to treat fine lines. Just be careful not to get it in your eyes.
