England U19 international Keira Flannery has signed her first professional contract with West Ham as she joins Championship side Reading on loan for the remainder of the season.

Flannery, who made her debut for the club in September 2022, has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Hammers.

After agreeing her new terms, the defensive midfielder later joined the Royals on loan ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.

Flannery, who turned 18 in September, previously spent seven years in Arsenal's youth academy but left for West Ham at the age of 16.

The youngster grew up supporting the Hammers and is a season ticket holder for the men's team.

She was later loaned out to Reading for the remainder of the season

When Flannery joined the club, she chose shirt No. 41 in honor of her idol, Declan Rice, the former Hammers captain.

The midfielder was previously loaned out to Gillingham and will look to gain experience after joining Reading.

The Royals currently sit ninth in the Championship, having won two, drawn six and lost four of their twelve matches this season.

Elsewhere, Chelsea defender Cerys Brown has been loaned out to Watford for the rest of the season.
