Wheel of Fortune viewers are left in hysterics as contestant’s woefully-incorrect answer leaves Pat Sajak in disbelief: ‘I can’t stop laughing’
Wheel of Fortune viewers couldn’t stop laughing Wednesday night at one contestant’s incorrect answer — which was so funny that even outgoing host Pat Sajak cried out in disbelief.
Ahead of the host’s final episode on Friday, the funny blunder occurred when player Nonie took on the food and drink category.
Having already secured an impressive $3,500 wedge, she was tasked with choosing a letter to complete the puzzle, which read: ‘S_PER_OO_ SMOOTHIE’.
After correctly selecting ‘D’ to form ‘S_PER_OOD SMOOTHIE’, she decided she was ready to guess the word.
“I’d like to fix it, Pat,” she said.

Nonie had been given a food and drink puzzle when she confidently announced her guess
‘What do you have?’ Pat asked, to which Nonie replied confidently, “Great smoothie.”
The shocked host immediately whimpered “no,” adding. ‘I’m very sorry.’
Pat then invited fellow contestant JP to take his shot – and after landing the $700 wedge, he correctly guessed the letter ‘F’ to form the word ‘superfood smoothie’.
Viewers were hysterical over the blunder as they lovingly mocked Nonie for the blunder.
“I can’t stop laughing, I’m so sorry, it’s just too funny,” someone wrote on X.
Another said: ‘Have you ever had a smoothie that was so good you could call it SUPERGOOD?’
“No ‘SuperGOOD smoothie,'” a third wrote alongside a sea of laughing and crying emojis.
Others pointed out that it was an easy mistake to make, with one person writing: “To be honest, I probably would have guessed that myself haha.”

Earlier this week, Pat spoke to his daughter Maggie Sajak to reveal why he’s leaving the beloved game show.
Maggie, 29, the show’s social media correspondent, asked: “What made you decide now is the right time to leave the show?”
“I’ve always said, you’ve heard me say this dozens of times, I’d rather leave a few years too early than too late,” Pat replied.
‘Could I still do it? Yes. I think I could do that for a while. [But]There are also some other things in life that we would like to do.”
He continued, “I’m enjoying this last year. It’s been a great 40 years. I look forward to what lies ahead.”
Although Pat has said he is open to new projects, he is looking forward to the simple life.
“I’m happy if it means I can continue with my crossword puzzles and play with my grandchildren,” he told his daughter, before adding: “Hint hint. No pressure.’
Concluding their conversation, Maggie said, “The show means the world to us. It was such a gift and you took what could have been an executioner and turned it into a cultural phenomenon.”
“So thank you for the wonderful forty-plus years,” she added, starting to choke up.

Pat then stood up to give his daughter – who was visibly overcome with emotion – a hug.
The outgoing host will be replaced by Ryan Seacrest after his final episode on Friday, while his longtime co-host Vanna White will remain on the show.
After his departure, Pat will remain involved with Wheel of Fortune as a consultant for three more years, said Suzanne Prete, executive vice president of game shows for Sony Pictures Television.
Ryan recently opened up about his upcoming role, a position he will take up in September. He will also serve as a consulting producer for the program.
Speaking about his co-star Vanna, he told E! News: ‘Being next to Vanna, she is of course a legend. She is an icon.
The long-serving host has hosted the show since 1981, but last June he announced he would retire after the 41st season.

“We shot some promos for next season, and she’s just so down to earth. She is exactly what you would expect.
“It’s just so exciting to think about being on that set. I’ve been watching the show for decades. I’m a fan of the show and the game is the star.’
Pat announced that he would be leaving Wheel of Fortune on June 12, 2023, after the show’s 41st season concluded.
“Well, the time has come. “I have decided that our 41st season, which starts in September, will be my last,” he said.
“It’s been a wonderful ride and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Thank you to all of you.”
Pat began hosting Wheel of Fortune on December 28, 1981, taking over for Chuck Woolery, who hosted from the show’s premiere in 1975 until he left over a salary dispute.
Vanna joined the show in 1982 after original host Susan Stafford left to become a humanitarian aid worker.
Last September, she extended her contract for two years, through the 2025-2026 season.
The new ink came after she found herself in a “stubborn” standoff with ABC bosses as she fought to get a pay rise – after going years without one.
