Mansoor Ali Khan Controversy Latest Update: The actor addressed the media and said that he will not say sorry to Trisha Krishnan

Actor Mansur Ali Khanwho is facing flak for misogynistic comments made against his own Lion Co-star Trisha Krishnan said Tuesday that he will not apologize because he “didn’t say anything wrong.” Addressing a press conference here, Khan said: “I didn’t mean it personally. If there is a rape or murder scene, is it really in the cinema? Does this mean you’re really raping someone? What does murder mean in cinema? Does this mean they really kill someone? Why do I have to apologize? I didn’t say anything wrong. I respect all actresses.”

Where did it start from?

A video of Mansoor Ali Khan from one of his interviews surfaced on social media, where he had hoped to have narrated the rape scene Lion starring Trisha, just as he had done in older films with stars like Khushboo and Roja. “When I heard I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier films. I’ve done so many rape scenes in a number of films and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule,” Khan had said.

Trisha and Mansoor Ali Khan do not share screen space in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Lion but played a prominent role in the film. Responding to Mansoor Ali Khan’s comments, Trisha turned to I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, disgusting and in poor taste. He can keep wishing, but I’m grateful that I never shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him, and I’ll make sure that never happens for the rest of my film career. People like him bring a bad name to humanity.”

Later, the issue was raised by Khushbu Sundar, leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and member of the National Commission for Women (NCW). Sundar said on Sunday that she has discussed the issue of Khan’s alleged derogatory comments against Trisha Krishnan. “As a member of NCW, I have already discussed the Mansoor Ali Khan issue with my senior and will take action on it. No one can get away with such a dirty mind. I stand with @trishtrashers and my other colleagues where this man speaks in such a sexist disgusting way of thinking about them, including me. When we fight tooth and nail to protect women and give them dignity, such men are like a bone in our society,” Sundar wrote on X.

Singer Chinmayi Sripaada also condemned Mansoor’s comments. “It is good and interesting to see that now a lot has changed in the way they all interact with Mansoor Ali Khan. That people in power find it necessary to voice their condemnation instead of saying: let’s ignore the sewerage. In between the time Nayanthara was defamed by Radha Ravi during the audio launch of her own film. No one condemned for at least 2 days, no one took action, no ‘Explain’, no demand for an apology, no NCW Suo-Motu knowledge. He was suspended from the party he belonged to, the DMK. He joined the BJP and defamed Nayanthara again. The NCW ignored it again. However, many internet users have spoken out – nothing came of it.”
