Woman and child rushed to hospital with serious stab injuries after attack that also left man with knife wounds
A woman and a young girl have been taken to hospital in Carlisle with serious injuries after an attack this morning which also left a man with knife wounds.
Police and emergency services were sent to an incident in Whernside this morning after reports a man suffered stab wounds.
When police arrived, they found a woman in her 50s and a child with serious injuries.
They were both taken to the nearby Royal Victoria Infirmary for further treatment.
The man, also in his 50s, was taken to Cumberland Infirmary with a stab wound and is described as stable.
