Woman breaks down in tears as she blasts New York dating scene declaring it ‘f***ing sucks’ and she wants men to stop ‘disturbing her peace’

No one said it was easy.

A young woman named Sarah lambasted the New York City dating scene in a viral TikTok, as she sobbed in frustration at having her peace “disrupted” by men coming in and out of her life.

“I want to talk about dating in New York because it sucks,” Sarah began the video, captioning it, “Dating in New York is not for the weak.”

“Every situation, and every thing I’ve been in, has gone so left. And I think: is it me? What have I done?’

Looking back on her recent dating disappointments, she didn’t know what caused her to be so unlucky in love.

'I give so much. Like, I hate that I'm such a crush, even though I don't really look like one,” Sarah said, her brown eyes glistening with tears.

‘I give so much. Like, I hate that I’m such a girl in love, even though I don’t really look like one,” Sarah said, her brown eyes glistening with tears.

“When I love, I love so hard.”

Nevertheless, she failed to develop into a more permanent, stable relationship, she claimed.

‘I’m so over it. I don’t want to do the dating apps anymore.

‘I’m done dating.

‘Like, before I met you, I was at peace with it. And then I met you, and we hung out and did the thing.

‘It was so good and I was so happy and I felt so comfortable and everything was great.

“And then it goes to the left and it’s like you just disturbed my peace.”

Thousands responded to the comments, many commiserating with Sarah, while others offered both sympathy and general sage advice

“Every time I try again, and finally find a real connection with someone, something happens.

‘And I always think I’m the one who screwed up. And I’m like, eh.

“So, I swear to God, if this happens this fast… I’m just going to give up. I’m ready. I surrender.

‘I’m just going to accept that I’m going to be alone for the rest of my life because I’m never going to find my person.

“Because every time I do that, and every time I think I’ve found someone, I haven’t, and eventually they just leave. And I’m thinking, “What happened?”

She admitted that she felt like crying on camera was “so cringe-worthy” of her.

“Because first of all, I hate crying, especially in front of people, because I don’t want to show my weakness and vulnerability,” she said.

‘But at the same time, someone else has to relate to this. Because what is that anyway?’

She concluded that she was home “enjoying the holidays with my family,” and that her stepdad had made her “a superf**king stiff drink.”

‘But yeah. How’s your Sunday?’ she added with a strained smile.

Hundreds responded to the comments to assure Sarah that she wasn’t the only one feeling sad about men and their behavior in the dating game.

‘Megan Fox once said, “Develop a hobby, men will drain you.” Honestly, I don’t date BC anymore (because) men are crazy these days,” one person offered.

‘I feel you. Dating in New York is unhappy (unfortunate) + I think people have too many options and see people as replaceable so it’s a non-stop rapid cycle of ups and downs,” reasoned a second.

“Oh, so we have the same experience together,” said a third.

“I feel like it’s not just New York, I think it’s everywhere, it’s such a shame,” echoed a fourth.

And, as a fifth sage advised, “Sometimes we have to teach that lover girl in us that not everyone deserves that treatment, protect your heart, honey, send lots of love.”
