Terrifying moment WWE superstar Damian Priest lands on his NECK after getting his foot caught in the ropes while attempting move at Clash at the Castle

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest narrowly avoided serious injury when he landed on his neck on the stiff ring apron during his ‘Clash at the Castle’ match against Drew McIntyre.

Priest attempted a front flip dive over the top rope and outside the ring to land on a standing McIntyre, a maneuver he has seamlessly completed hundreds of times.

The Day of Judgment member typically completes the dive by launching themselves with a springboard from the center rope. Priest stepped slightly over the middle rope, fell over it and got his ankle caught in the top two ropes.

When his ankle was caught, his handlebars were taken straight into the ring apron, with Priest dangling over the side of the ring after failing the move.

The referee and McIntyre had to help free Priest from hanging upside down. Priest continued the match and retained his championship in the main event.

Priest’s ankle injury seemed legitimate as he clearly favored it for the rest of the match.

During WWE’s post-event press availability, Priest said his ankle felt “like garbage” and that he attended the scrum rather than be immediately checked by doctors.

“I was able to beat Drew McIntyre on one foot, so I’m pretty sure I’m ready,” Priest said.

Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship from McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 in April, shortly after McIntyre himself won the title from Seth Rollins.

Priest got the title shot by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase, which he won last year.

McIntyre got his rematch in his home country of Scotland, but was partially deflated by a low blow from rival CM Punk.

If Priest gets hurt, it will likely be discussed as part of WWE’s next show, Monday Night Raw.
