Abbey Clancy and her family got into the festive spirit on December 1 by welcoming their Elf on the Shelf back into their home.

The model, 37, shared a funny clip on Instagram showing four elves scattered around the Crouch family bathroom, with toilet paper stretched across the walls and floor.

She filmed her daughters Sophia, 11, Liberty, seven, and sons Johnny, four, and Jack, three, giggling at the cheeky elves.

Abbey was heard saying: ‘What happened? They’re so naughty!’

Elf on the Shelf is based on a 2005 children’s picture book of the same name, written by American authors Carol V. Aebersold and Bell Chanda.

The story tells how scout elves are sent to homes from the North Pole at the beginning of Advent. Their job is to tell Santa Claus who has been naughty or nice.

Part of the elves’ deception is that they move around the house ‘mysteriously’ – possibly with the help of parents – leaving children confused and perhaps on their best behavior.

The book has sparked a global trend among parents using Elf on the Shelf toys – and the countless imitations they have spawned – to keep their little ones in line in the run-up to Christmas.

It comes after Abbey got into the festive spirit when she donned a Santa hat while enjoying a day out with husband Peter Crouch and their four children in LaplandUK.

The couple seemed in good spirits as they enjoyed a magical trip with their daughters Sophia, 11, Liberty, seven, and sons Johnny, four, and Jack, three.

Abbey, 37, looked stylish in a long black coat and let her long blonde locks loose as she cozied up to her kids during the day.

Meanwhile, former footballer Peter, 42, was wrapped warm in a padded navy blue jacket which he teamed with a black winter hat.

The couple’s eldest daughter, Sophia, was all smiles as she twinned with her mother in a red Santa hat, while Liberty was dressed in all beige.
