THE handy Amazon Fire Stick has taken the tech world by storm lately.

But while it has many benefits and is easy to set up with a huge content library, some buyers have struggled to get the remote to work.

The Amazon Fire Stick has a smart troubleshooting system to tell you why the remote might not be working

1) Why isn't my Amazon Fire TV Stick working?

There are four reasons why your Amazon TV Stick may not be working.

A problem could be a low battery.

The second problem could be a problem with the remote control.

The third problem may be that the remote is not connected to the TV.

And the fourth may be that the device is not turned on.

How does the Fire Stick remote work?

The TV remote works the same as any other remote control, but is much easier to use and has some advanced features.

It has seven buttons and a control panel with arrows to navigate the screen.

The most exciting feature is the voice control button located at the top of the remote that you can talk into to access what you want.

Just hold the button and give a command like “Netflix” and like magic, Netflix will open.

Is there a monthly fee for Amazon Fire TV Stick?

There are no monthly fees associated with using an Amazon Fire Stick.

So once you've paid the initial purchase cost, there are no additional costs associated with using your fancy new streaming stick.

But several of the apps and channels available on the Fire Stick require subscriptions to access them.

4) How do I fix my Amazon Fire TV Stick

To find out what's causing a problem, press any button on the remote. A color flashes to indicate what is wrong.

The way to tell if the problem is caused by a low battery is to check if the light is red and flashing slowly.

If this is the case, the battery must be replaced.

If the light is red and flashing quickly, that means an issue with the remote is the cause of the problem and you need to reset your Fire TV remote.

If the light is orange, it means the remote is not paired with your Fire TV.

Restart your Fire TV device and wait until “Cannot detect your remote” appears on the screen.

Then re-pair your Fire TV remote by pressing and holding the Home button on the remote for 10 seconds.

If the light is white, check that the device is turned on and restart the TV if the problem persists.

5) Roku vs Amazon Fire TV Stick

There are very few differences between Roku and Amazon Fire TV Stick.

One of the most obvious differences is the price, as the Roku Express 4K costs £39.99, while the Fire TV Stick starts at £44.99.

Both the Roku Express 4K and the Amazon Fire TV Stick let you control the TV with your voice.

With the Amazon Fire TV Stick, this comes in the form of a button on the remote and on the in-app remote for Roku.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick was updated in 2020 with this addition current and volume buttons on the remote control.

They also made the smart TV stick 50 percent more powerful than its 2019 predecessor, but the simple addition of the buttons means you no longer have to switch between remote controls to turn up or down the volume.

The Roku Express 4K has no volume buttons or shortcuts.

But the streaming device comes with the free Roku mobile app with an additional remote control and the volume and shortcuts can be found this way.

And in terms of applications, both remote controls are quite similar.

Although the Amazon remote has a clearer display, both offer Disney+, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, Spotify, NOW TV, BT Sport and YouTube.

It comes as millions of Amazon Fire TV owners were warned about a common trick that could damage their devices forever.

And an Amazon Fire TV Stick user has revealed a trick to help you get more out of the device.

The tip was posted on a popular Reddit forum called r/firetvstick.

It was posted in response to a Fire TV Stick user asking for advice on best practices.

“Just got it a stick and want to make sure I handle it properly.

“Do you have any best practices, tips and tricks to keep the stick behaving as it should?

“Like I have to turn it off via the remote before unplugging it, etc.,” the Reddit user asked.

The most popular comment on the thread described how the new Amazon Fire TV Stick owner must connect the device to the TV.
