Rachel Burns, from Royston, Cambridgeshire, shared her theft of a purchase online after picking up the box with a yellow reduced price sticker on it.

The air fryer, which has five cooking methods and a rotisserie, was down to £47 from £119.

Rachel alerted other bargain hunters to the price cut before the shelves were empty, writing on Facebook: “Absolutely a bargain in Tesco Royston this morning!

“Small hot air fryer oven for €47 instead of €119. There is still plenty on the shelves!”

The post quickly became popular with users urging people to buy the stove.

One person praised the gadget, saying: “It's brilliant… we've worn out the rotisserie!”

Another agreed: “I have this one, it's fantastic!”, while a third wrote: “I love mine.”

A fourth were shocked by the price. They said: “That's a bargain, we've had ours for over a year and paid £125 for it.”

While air fryers are understandably healthier for cooking food, the Tower also promises to use 50 percent less energy

It comes after The Sun discovered it was cheaper to use an air fryer than an oven.

I'm a busy mom – my clever AirFryer hack gives you the perfect meal every time

A 2 kW oven costs about 55 cents to run for half an hour, or 27 cents for an hour of use.

You could run a 1000W air fryer for an hour for 28 cents less.

And an equity of 3.5 kW costs about 96 cents for half an hour and 48 cents for an hour.

This again makes an air fryer the cheapest option.

Benefits of cooking with an air fryer

Air fryers are praised by many people as a healthier way to prepare meals.

This is due to the lack of oil required to power one, with the gadget instead mimicking the crispiness of fried food without the fat.

Foods that are fried generally contain more fat and although an air fryer does not fry food, it is still fried rather than baked or roasted.

An investigation published in 2015 by experts at the University of Murcia in Spain, chips made in an air fryer have been found to contain less fat than their fried counterparts.

Another paper, published in 2017Research found that air fryers actually reduced the healthy fatty acids in certain types of fish, such as sardines.

Experts have said that when used properly, air fryers can do a lot of good.

Dr. Rachel Ward, GP at Woodlands Medical Centre, Didcot, said: “It uses much less fat than frying food, which is a clear health benefit.”

Ovens are not the biggest energy guzzlers in your home, but they do use a fair amount of electricity, especially if you use them often and for long periods of time.

An air fryer is smaller and more energy efficient than a full-size oven, so you can save money on your bills if you use it for your weeknight meals, and save the oven for a single batch cooking session on the weekend.
