I flew to Romania for a 24 hour pampering holiday for under £100 – the spa alone would have cost twice as much at home
One savvy Brit booked a return flight to Romania for just £32 to enjoy a 24-hour spa break – which she claimed was £100 cheaper than in Britain.
Rebecca Kellet, 37, and her best friend, Sam Martin, 34, flew from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest, Romania at 10am on November 19, 2023.
The pair then headed to their hotel – which cost them £40 each – and visited a few bars before hitting the spa.
The next day, Rebecca and Sam visited Therme Spa in Bucharest, Romania, which set them back £25.85 each, a pleasant surprise after the pair were fed up with their local spa’s price increases.
In total, the trip cost the couple just £97.85 each for flights, accommodation and the spa – which they say is £100 cheaper than their usual spa day in Britain.

Rebecca, gift company owner, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, said: ‘Every year for Sam’s birthday I always organize a spa day.
She continued: ‘I usually take her to a place in Preston but their prices have gone up recently and they’ve changed the rules so you don’t have to stay in the spa as long.’
‘I saw the spa in Romania and found cheap flights. Since it fell on a Sunday, you can get away with just one day of annual leave.”
The pair flew from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Henri Coandă International Airport on November 19.
Once they arrived in Bucharest, the friends went to a few bars for a few drinks and walked around the old town.
On Monday, Rebecca and Sam went to the spa where they spent the day – getting a facial and massage – before traveling back to Britain on Tuesday morning.
Rebecca said: ‘The cost was unbelievable and the fact it’s a full one day holiday.
‘You check into the spa at 10am and you can stay until 11pm.
